@@StorytellerCharm You dind't see the video of Brian dealing 11 commander damage to Ben Brode on turn 2, did you? Brian plays every game like he wants it to be over by turn 4. I'm always fine with Olivia going out for him, makes for a fun Roadrunner/Coyote situation.

Brian plays almost every game in such a way as not to take people out right away. And at the same time, he still plays 1 vs 3
Oh no Alias! Syr Konrad and Mindcrank should have made Dakota mill for each creature Olivia milled from damage. His creatures could have triggered more from her.
There was potential for that to have been an endless cycle that would have won you the game.
I dun goofed! I happily died to gobbos nonetheless and will take my 2nd place :P

@Xylasider, I discussed this in an early comment and am curious to hear if you agree with my assessment!
They did miss “creature enters the graveyard” triggers (I counted 5) but it wouldn’t have changed the outcome. Dakota’s decklist has only 25 creatures total and he had already invested some to the board and in the graveyard so the creature count remaining in deck was even lower.
At that point in the game, he had more than +\- 20 life and/or cards in deck to be milled and wouldn’t have died/decked.
Mindcrack and Konrad never go infinite but are far more successful at eliminating opponents when:
- You are playing in a full pod (no players have been eliminated)
-All opponents are at roughly equivalent life totals (no player drops out early and tanks your odds)
-All decks have a high concentration of creatures
Unfortunately for Alias one of her opponents was dead, one was playing voltron (basically singleton creature), and her final opponent also had a pretty low creature count (25).
@@michaelbutta4764 Well, obviously Syr Konrad never goes infinite, he stops once there are either no more cards or no more hitpoints among enemies, lul. /s
If the cards lie perfectly, he can perfectly end the game with a Mindcrank in a single swing. :D

True but I believe she played it wrong? when the -3 -3 spell was cast she said she only had a 2/2 and a 2/2 but lightpaws was a 3/3 becaise ethereal armour and it should've died regardless of totem armour because lightpaws would still have less than 0 toughness even if you sacrificed to totem armour, no? (I know the spell isn't permanent)
@@tophattoast4252 Ethereal armour gives +1/+1 for each ENCHANMENT she controls, so is was +2/+2. Her only mistake was calling it a 2/2 when asked ho strong her creatures were. ;)
@@tophattoast4252 horden is correct. Light Paws base stat is a 2/2 which is probably why she said that as she didn’t take into account her Ethereal Armor boost which made it a 4/4. I have my own Ethereal Armor and now I have my eyes on that Light Paws for my Mono White commander. After all when one tries to build a Commander deck around every color scheme you want it to be fun, powerful, and spicy and that Light Paws deck fits the bill perfectly

Shoudnt dakota lose life and mill from the creatures olivia milled?
Yes. Not only this but every creature he mills would trigger more damage and more mills.
I believe they missed 5 potential mills (he later milled an additional 5 so would have been 5 deeper)
His Isshin deck is pretty creature light (25 creatures total in his list) and he was at a high enough life/library total it wouldn’t have killed or decked him anyhow.
Brian’s legitimate “Wait what?” to “like Aladdin” was perfect

It wouldn't have had an impact on the game, but Adeline triggers when YOU attack, not when she attacks.
Ngl, I'm loving this channel because of Brian and Olivia and their interactions between them and the guests of the show. I remember Brian being on Game Knights for an episode and seeing him now is great. Everyone is having so much fun and it warms my heart. Love the two of you together and love watching you two play Magic. Also, I adore EDHijinks! Eilidh and Olivia are so much fun to watch and see what decks they pilot and how they pilot them.
Wizard of Barge is one of my favourite artists for secret lair. Got all the slimes in my slime deck recently and pretty happy about it!

Sir Konrad deals damage to EACH opponent. Dakota should have taken 3 more damage, I think? And he should have milled due to the mind crank. Also exiling creatures from AliasV's graveyard does trigger Konrad. I guess chances are low that this would have matter. I'm just saying.... Mindcrank is crazy with Sir Konrad. You can just win on the spot without much effort. If the cards are used correctly.

Light Paws was a 4/4 so she survived!
Maze ith can tap for mana from chromatic lantern, urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, but maze ith would be hold alot more
@Comnander At Home: Actually, Brian, the flip side of Thaumatic Compass, Spires of Orazca, is a Maze of Ith that actually taps for 1 colorless mana.
So a Maze of Ith that produces mana, actually does exist.

I think Sword of Hours should've still triggered and Dakota should've rolled a D12 even though Bruse was blocked by a creature since it still dealt combat damage. Sword of Hours didn't specify the combat damage to be done to a player, just combat damage. Not that it matters in this game though. 🤷🏻♂️😂

Mirage Mirror could copy Maze of Ith, instead of a Creature to make a Blocker... XD
31:44 Rules error alert! Krenko's ability can't put a +1/+1 counter on him if he's dead. The Infernal Grasp is in response to the trigger, so by the time it resolves Krenko can't get the counter. His ability can, actually, still use Last Known Information to create goblins equal to his power when he was last on the battlefield, but that should be seven, not eight.
Give or take a goblin would not have been relevant in the slightest, but I gotta point it out.

My playgroup forced me to disassemble my Light Paw deck because they removed her the second she hit the battlefield. Every. Single. Time.
Maze of Ith:
If Maze of Ith tapped for mana, then the card would probably ended up like this…
Tap to gain 1 colorless mana
1 colorless mana + Tap Maze of Ith
Target attacking creature becomes untapped.
This creature neither deals nor receives damage as a result of combat.
Olivia would have killed dakota if she used mirage mirror to copy Dakota's enchantment
I think if Maze if Ith was remade today it would unironically be like:
Tap: Add a colorless
Tap: Untap target attacking creature and remove it from combat
One of the weirdest aspects of Maze of Ith is that the way it's worded allows it to go infinite, and wotc has been trying to limit things from going infinite super easily recently (for the most part)

at around 35 when olivia attacked with her commander, wouldn't her life be doubled again? i'm pretty sure she had an enchantment that gave her creature double strike
Syr konrad with mind crank would have milled out both players, technically she didnt loose.....unless that was a forfeit?
Just small add: alia would have triggered mindcrank a fee times more on brian (cause conrad did damage to EACH player) and maybe "cascade" to victory. But not a save thing

Great episode, but I think Brian made a flub in what he said about Sword of hours, I play that card in a knights deck and it gets to role when it damages, not just a player. But was a fun episode to see Light Paws demolish the pupper/horse deck, sad Kondrad just kind sat there and watched.
With so many chances to tutor for an aura, why not get protection from some or all colors? There are numerous white auras that provide this (I know, I run Light-Paws myself). Was it intentional to have a weakness the others could use against you?

So if olivias had mirrored the sir konrad and blocked a goblin she could have win, each konrad trigger would mill beacuse mind crank and the ishin deck must have many creatures, each creature milled damaging them again. Agains 17 life and 40
