I have watched a lot of these "survival" videos and invariably the comments section will include nasty comments about how the videos are too long, too detailed, or some other stupid comment about the person doing the talking, etc. (you get the point) so I'm glad you included the "outtakes". Just demonstrates that the final product is the culmination of a lot of work and patience. Nice to have a good sense of humor. Thanks, you and your wife did a great job!
I'm a new subscriber, the first video I got my lady to watch was your lost in the woods entries. She was exhausted, but she needed to know that you were safe and sound. She loves the fact that you and your lady have the same relationship we do. City girl and country boy. She was relieved you were safe and how you hit on your wife upon seeing her. Your outtakes are great and displays a window into how difficult the process is to get these videos uploaded as a finished product. Thank you for bringing us happiness this day.
Another great video! I always wondered why not just keep everything in your pack and now I know. Guess I will need to add this to my wish list lol. Also thanks for going through your setup, gives me some ideas. Keep up the good work!
Great kit. That Trayer(?) Tool would be period correct for a black powder rendezvous, even though it hadn't been invented yet. You're like me in excessive fire making accoutrements. My son and I like to do a "Survival Kit" campout carrying only a survival kit and the clothes on our backs. Your haversack would be great for that.
Thanks for showing that awesome haversack. Thank You for the outtakes, when you mess up and your wife giggles absolutely funny stuff man. Great information and great sense of humor, my favorite channel Thanks again.
Awesome vid bro! I just put a haversack together I'm a huge fan of Dave Canterbury and put all the 10C'S of survivability in mine... And carry it with whatever pack out I happen to be carrying
Really enjoyed the video. It is amazing how much stuff that you really need will fit in a bag as small as a haversack. By the way, the outtakes were hilarious. Who is your "camera woman"? She is very funny too!
I've seen you on Chris's channel, and I'm waiting for the $$ to buy a Hideenwoodsmen Haversack, your Videos are making me very interested in what I need to have in it. Thank You for the Videos you are doing. I'm going on a Mantis Binge watch today 😎
great video friend, love the bloopers at the end you and your partner are having fun and that's what its all about some people take themselves far too serious on here
Man I love your outtakes. I was laughing so hard my face hurts lol Awesome kit! I'll have to get a haversack one of these days. It seems like it makes things easier to organize.
Camping with Jamie... on the list of things to try this year. Working too many weekends for it now though. Lol. Nice video, I think the camera crew needs a raise for being interactive. Lol. Stay safe, talk to you later. ~ Chet
Really like those haversack's, but unfortunately as I found out when I messaged them the other day, no shipping to the UK, oh well, good to see you enjoying the outdoors, very jealous!
Will, I love your videos man. You have amazing knowledge of primitive skills and I made a youtube account just to subscribe to you and chris@PM101 you guys are an awesome duo! I am proud to be one of you first 500 subs
what’s the point ? i wilderness hunt and use a backpack and tent for base camp, usually take a couple of lighters and a striker for backup. never get lost anymore, use gps and compass . it looks more like a hobby , it’s good to know those skills, but you know what AK natives do up here to make fire? they pour gasoline on a tree and light it up
nilpo19 I don't think it's any secret they are in the business to make as much cash on this topic as humanly possible. it's the main reason I won't support them. they are taking a subject that everybody needs to get equal access too, and shouldn't have to spend a ton of cash to do so, and they are making an industry out of it. too many companies are doing this, and the result is more and more crap products, more expensive prices, and it never was sent to be this way. camping and hiking was supposed to be a way to have recreational fun without dropping serious coin. ever since people started to really brush up on survival skills, costs skyrocketed. it's rediculous
Most of my gear is military surplus, or the same exact product from the pathfinder store just without their logo so its $20 cheaper. A soviet mess kit, German bag, US ww2 reproduction canteen with cup, a tarp and wool blanket{s}. most of the little trinkets you can store in ziplock bags for a while, in pockets etc. I like to keep simple and have no need for a huge stuffed bag like this, I know how to fish so I always eat.
i liked the kit and I understand it was a necessities kit. but I would have liked to c maybe cutting out one of the fire kits for maybe a fishing kit or something else.
Will we love you and all your out takes!!! Also get some extra batteries for your video camera! I am a photographer and have 4 extra batteries for my camera and video camera I use a gopro and also have 4 extra batteries. But we
lol thanks me and megan have fun together.... no matter what thats the most important thing in life is to have fun... yeah i need to get some spare batteries but money is real tight right now megans mother has health issues that we are helping her out with and it leaves us on the just getting by side of life thanks...
there are things that you said we have seen before, this is the first video of your's I have seen so NO I have not seen them before. NEVER assume someone has seen any of your video before. Either show everything or post a link to another video showing them
yes this was a gift from a friend.... i dont just teach primitive skills... i teach modern and primitive self reliance bro i enjoy nice gear just as much as the next guy like i said in the vid i normally like leather or canvas but this is a really well made haversack that will serve some one very well..... thanks!!!

Everything you have us so new looking and shiny. Almost as if it's never been used. Do you actually use this equipment?
Some of the equipment in this video is new replacements or just new to me plus I take care of all of my stuff
I like the Idea of carring a Haversack, along with your Pack.

Yes sir, one fine video. Thanks.
Hah you guys would be a kick to hang out with. I switched over to a haversack last year and it's just too convenient not to use.
Really like those haversack's, but unfortunately as I found out when I messaged them the other day, no shipping to the UK, oh well, good to see you enjoying the outdoors, very jealous!
Great video, going to use a habersack bag on my next campout
Nice kit will. Glad you put to use the haversack. :)
malcolm i have got a ton of questions from ppl that i cant answer im emailing you now
William Myers MantisOutdoors anyone can email me at thehiddenwoodsmen@gmail.com for more info. thank you so much will. glad the bags service you well.
Good fire kit but can't beat a bic lighter. Carry 2 or 3 in my pocket every day in town or out, always a couple in the car as well.
anything the pathfinder store sells you can find other places for half the price mostly
That's on my list I really like the idea of a haversack. Just found your channel today. Good stuff bro will keep watching.
Great viddy man. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Nice pack... is that a Duluth?
Very good ideas, Thank you very much
what’s the point ? i wilderness hunt and use a backpack and tent for base camp, usually take a couple of lighters and a striker for backup. never get lost anymore, use gps and compass . it looks more like a hobby , it’s good to know those skills, but you know what AK natives do up here to make fire? they pour gasoline on a tree and light it up
Right more of a hobby doing more with less if your not into it no worries glad your doing your thing bro get out and fill the freezer right
Awesome video, thanks for the info.
thanks for viewing bro
This is nice kit, but it almost seems like commercial for the Pathfinder Store. Their gear is good, but unfortunately it's also extremely overpriced.
nilpo19 I don't think it's any secret they are in the business to make as much cash on this topic as humanly possible. it's the main reason I won't support them. they are taking a subject that everybody needs to get equal access too, and shouldn't have to spend a ton of cash to do so, and they are making an industry out of it. too many companies are doing this, and the result is more and more crap products, more expensive prices, and it never was sent to be this way. camping and hiking was supposed to be a way to have recreational fun without dropping serious coin. ever since people started to really brush up on survival skills, costs skyrocketed. it's rediculous

Thanks for the good info. Good comedy at the end too.
One more thing... your camera 'bipod' has a great laugh.
thanks for sharing, and the bloopers too!
glad you liked it bro
i liked the kit and I understand it was a necessities kit. but I would have liked to c maybe cutting out one of the fire kits for maybe a fishing kit or something else.
Cool William !
Thanks john
