Swinki Trzy they don’t have to, they just throw more speed, ram and GPU into every project, the old 8 bit computers were more than capable of doing amazing stuff like this back in the 80s , only the demo scene was working hard to push the limits , the game company’s were using old code to release “new” games , using the same old tricks , almost nobody hired these incredible creative people, shame on them

I think that would depend upon who you ask! Perhaps what you _really_ meant to ask, is "what we're old programmers' *estimations* of what the Spectrum could do?"?? In this aspect, I still believe much more can be done - though in this case, using more lateral thinking to accomplish the best possible results from the machine. Particularly on the issue of memory. Digital loading, rather than analogue loading techniques (ie cassette TAPE and Microdrive TAPE and even vinyl in some cases), could compensate for the lack of memory even on the 16k, when repeated demands for new provisions of memory are called for. As well, interlacing, smaller lines of border pixels, smoother border scrolling, creating forms (or shapes) to fit in the border to match what is happening on the PAPER, to create a full screen, can make the limitations of the Spectrum virtually redundant.
