I saw these last weekend at PetSmart. They had a large display on the end isle. I was curious on what they really looked like. Thanks for showing us! I see some potential there.
I saw this tank last time I was in petsmart, definitely caught my attention. I have another one of the topfin tanks like this one with the same lights, it grows anubias and java fern just fine.
I actually just got this for my betta fish, I just moved and there 2 other tanks broke during the move and I wasn’t aloud to get the same tanks so I had to find a tank like this and I have to say, my bettas love this! Not the biggest fan of the size but will have to do for a bit.
I have a betta sorority, and it always ends up with a couple who get picked on, etc. This would be an interesting way to house a couple who need alternative housing.
I have a feeling that the divider is an integral part of the structure, basically it allows the tank to be rimless. Remove it and you risk the seams splitting
Even w/my 'fancy' rimless shallow tanks, I still love my Topfin 5 gallon. It's got black silicone & narrow blk rims, very slick looking. My Nano fish love it too. Interested in seeing what you do w/this, but that filters gotta go.
the slant divider is something I don't like but ya got yourself a little rimless tank to stock. Maybe some really small fish .... I can't stand bettas cooped up in little tanks.
Your comment made me think. Breeders of betta fish will often have a male and female in a tank with a divider so that they get used to each other before introducing them to each other. This could be a great tank for doing that and when they remove the divider so that they can breed, later on remove the female afterwards so the male doesn’t kill the female fish, and concentrate on the bubble nest and fry. Just a thought 🤔
Thanks for sharing this Mr . Tec I'd probably use it as a rimless tank nano scape (Interesting foot print) and use the pump in a Maten filter on a rimmed 5 gallon. Or try it as is with one side being a sump possibly with some shrimp . Anyway hope you enjoy it and have some fun!
As far as the tank and lid that's a good price. I would take out the waterfall partition and just use the tank for shrimp. The lid is unique and sorta cool 😎 overall I liked 👍
I was figuring like a foam block with light diffuser as a separation barrier on the left hand side where I could bring in an overflow outlet. Lava rock on the left side, to the right of the foam and diffuser divider to fill out the left chamber, this would flow through the stock divider to the return pump. I have a couple outdoor fountain pumps I use for water changes. They only have roughly 4-5 ft of head pressure, but they have a built in float switch. I figure this would be easy to hide in a stand for a smaller tank to get increased biological filtration as, well as having more pockets to put shrimp 😂. Being clear would also help with monitoring to prevent any issues.
I actually have the predecessor to this tank , It is a neat little tank perfect for keeping on your desk and I would venture a guess that it would be sufficient for a betta Fish
I would like to know the flow..my shrimp are OK in my high flow tanks...it would be nice to keep two different colors in each side of my best shrimp..I’d not keep young Berta fish in there..but it may work for the old boys..
Thinking In terms of turning it into a Cory eggs /fry on the right side and grow out on the left side . The 1st thing I thought was , is it already April 1st L😎L
Yeap I think that’s what they had in mind. I don’t think the side that fills up would be as good for one though. The part that it spills into would be ok though.
The partition waterfall seems gimmicky and off putting. built quality looks nice. Filter has huge potential space for biological media. The lid has a nice and clean design; I kind of dig it, if it not were for the divider thing.

Looks like a fun project. I would definitely mod the filter with sponge.

For the price might be worth buying and removing the plastic divider and have a rimless tank for $36. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
It’s not a plastic divider. I think it’s glass and glued together.
that’s exactly what i did it works great!
it slips right out with a little force
@@briellemartinez1561does it actually come out? Because I’m planning to buy it.
@@briellemartinez1561I got the divider out but how do I get the residue off the glass?
i wanna see a full scape with this, weird tanks are my favorite
betta one side if the flow is low and ornate shrimp on the other
Thanks much for the review. I think I want one 🤔 like to see your future adaptations of that setup 👍

Cute little product, but I am most interested to see what your plans are for it!
Thanks for the review. Definitely a 'you bought this so I don't have to have to' video!
Now that's a cool tank! 😎
I love the part "And here's the instructions ... " **Tosses Aside the instructions** 😂
It’s a tradition. So is me scavenging around for them between takes when I find something I don’t understand. 😂
5g makes a nice Kitchen aquarium, if you have the counter space- thanks Sean💕👍
What a retro look..takin it old school. Interesting and look forward to seeing what you do with it!
interesting to see what you do with it

I think it’s too small for that to be an issue.
Hmm, I actually really like the tank dimensions, for it's size; think I would just razor out that plastic center panel and get a different light.

The idea is good and I’d like it in maybe a 20 gallon long so that each fish has 10 gallons. Too small as it is.
now thats one interesting tank xD cant say ive seen those at my local petsmart. Wonder if it was a regional thing hahaha
This was the first time I’ve noticed it too. All they had were three of them. And I took one.
🤔 interesting...but definitely not big enough for two bettas. 😘 Can't wait to see your improvements 👍

I feel bad for all of the goldfish that get stuck in this two in one tank setup.
i like your guitars. nice resonator too! I also have fish and guitars.

Love how he tosses the instructions …. 🤣🤣🤣
I was debating on buying this and using it as a small sump
Definitely only get it on sale. Cool idea though. Trickle filter?

Interesting tank, love to see what you’ll do with it. Hope your well?
I bought this fish tank a few weeks ago and when I checked it today my waterfall wasn’t working and I just can’t find the way to do it Can you help?
I like it!!!
Step 1: throw instructions on the floor. Step 2: Remove packaging. Step 3: "How does this work!!"
I actually have the predecessor to this tank , It is a neat little tank perfect for keeping on your desk and I would venture a guess that it would be sufficient for a betta Fish
I'm sorry but from the thumbnail I thought this thing was made by Toys R'Us lol
😂
I have a 2 1/2 gallon tank, from top fin. I liked it for 3 months. Then it started braking down.....
Awesome

I’ll fill it up with water eventually before I start messing with it.

Just bought one, realized heater is not included.
Hi, could I put two male bettas in each side of this tank?

@@pecktec I might be able to Jerry rig it…
Thank you
@@buttonsjunior1131 be sure to check out the conversion I’m doing for it. It will be up in about two weeks I really hacked it up into something neat.
@@pecktec sure.
Can I get it sir I can use it for my Betta fish ty
I got this on sale for like 30 bucks. Took that divider out and now I have a nice 5g for a betta.
Was it easy to remove the divider?
@@rockyandmiles9889 its just silicone so use a razor and run it down the sides.

You can easily take it off
🎉👏
I'm a bit concerned with the feet on the bottom, putting all the pressure on the glass!
I think at this size it’s fine.
5 gallons is small enough allready I would never split one for multiple fish
I agree. 5 gallon tanks are barely suitable for one betta for me anyway. I have mine in 10 gallon and I feel they're happier with room to explore.
👍🐠🐟🐬🐳🐋😍🙏
Hi
Awful piece of kit , i suppose you could make a rudimentary sump out of it ?
Toy tank. The faux wood grain lid is so retro along with the filter color; puke yellow. 🤮
Worlds ugliest filter hands down.
Nope I'd just cut the middle peice how ridiculous.
i bought that set...it sucked
Looks like a poorly designed divided tank.
