    I don’t get these women, how can you make $27k+ a month and not have a safety nest?! Omg... I would’ve paid off my car and bought a home.

    • @nickkingofearth
      @nickkingofearth 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1295

      It’s 27k gross sales. So probably half of that net. And then these “consultants” have to “reinvest” in the company and buy more inventory. And of course pay taxes but she didn’t do that lol. But these MLM people like to flash big numbers but what they actually take home is significantly less.

      I believe they have another longer video about this company and they encouraged them to look a certain way and to invest money back into company. Then the company had shit quality with their clothes so a lot of them ended up losing money because they had tons of clothes they couldn't sell.

      I think it also has to do with the culture of lularoe... they’re taught to push sales on others, but they also get sales pushed on themselves... lularoe intentionally normalizes spending your entire pay check on “wants”

      They don't. Most of the purchases are from actual sellers. Most sellers end up with tonnes of ugly inventory they can't get rid of and often it gets sold onto other sellers when they go out of business.

      They're encouraged to do this by their uplines.... because how else are they gonna earn their coin? Eventually, you run out of Facebook friends and family to market to - so you rely on your lackeys buying shit from the company (where you get a bigger % commission off the purchase from bigger packages) to earn $, it's far more lucrative. Therefore, the reps themselves are the company's biggest customers.

Consignment like deal where the seller(the one interacting with the customers) pays for the product as it sells.. Or return it in a postage paid box provided by wholesaler.. But what's the point, if every bit of money you make goes to buying more stuff that may not sell.. You should get a FULL REFUND on crap that didn't sell..

      Lularoe was still a problem. It's been under legal fire for constituting as an illegal pyramid scheme; meaning it's not a company in which you can make a legitimate profit from selling to customers
      The profit is almost entirely contained to the pyramid of members or "consultants" in the scheme
      Your recruiter earned their paycheck from recruiting you and the money you spent on inventory to enter the scheme
      Because you have to constantly buy merchandise, you don't profit from sales to customers, instead you profit from recruiting others into the scheme, by getting a share of the money they spent buying the inventory frontload
      And for them to profit, they have to recruit as well, and so on
      Unless you are at the very top of the scheme, you are not earning money from selling merchandise, no matter how hard you try
      You earn by recruiting people into a scam; the profit comes from and stays within the pyramid, and that is why it's illegal
      This woman is an idiot for falling for it, although these scams specifically target women like her
      The fact she's now part of a different MLM, proving she didn't learn her lesson last time is truly where her problem is
      You can't win in these scams without scamming others. But only an absolute tool would sign up the scam a second time after being bankrupted once.
      Looks like she's only remorseful about the Lularoe pyramid crashing on her, and not the fact that it's going to crash on someone. So long as she's at the top, she doesn't care.
      That's an idiot with money who deserves to fail.

      Often women without much of a support group or social network are the ones that will fall into this type of shit, and then their social network and support groups become full of people also involved in the scheme. They make it seem like they are this tight-nit community that all have each others backs and it's really appealing to those who don't have that in their life.

    • @TheSameYellowToy
      @TheSameYellowToy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      MLMs, just like cults, often prey on people who don't have a good (or any) social support group. Lonely people or people who don't have healthy relationships are a prime target for them.
      MLMs and cults will "love bomb" you when you're new. Suddenly, you're surrounded by tons of new friends who compliment you nonstop, believe in you, and love you so much! ...Only this "friendship" and "love" is very conditional. If you start questioning the MLM/cult or leave, all of your new "friends" will mock you and/or shun you.
      MLMs and cults also try to isolate their members from any opposing viewpoints. Only the MLM/cult is right. Anyone who does not support the company/cult is automatically wrong. People who don't support it are all negative, stupid, misinformed, haters, jealous, toxic, awful, or even evil people who don't want you to succeed, so you need to cut them out of your life! Your friends and family who think you're making a mistake by being part of this, and trying to talk you out of it, are all just a bunch of dumb negative haters who are only going to bring you down, they don't actually care about you like we in the MLM/cult do!
      And even if an MLM doesn't explicitly tell you to cut off your loved ones...their sales tactics are an indirect way to cut them off. Constantly spamming your friends and family with sales pitches on social media and turning every social interaction with them into a potential sale is eventually going to drive everyone who doesn't want to get involved with the MLM away from you...which helps solidify the echo chamber.

Those live streams were strangely fascinating because the clothes were so ugly and unimpressive but everyone was so excited about them and they would sale out! I sent a message to a couple of the sellers asking about the company and were they really making big bucks pushing those overpriced Wal-Mart looking clothes. Both were very dismissive in their responses like if you're not buying something they didn't want to talk. I watched a few more times because again, it was fascinating! Like a cult were people were being brainwashed into believing those ugly clothes were the shizzle, fascinating! Oh, and the male sellers were really hilarious! There was one who streamed from a super messy overcrowded bedroom that he'd turned into his personal LLR warehouse. He acted like those awful stretch pants were dipped in gold and he couldn't contain his excitement.

    Who quits a job to go work for a company that has no benefits or a pension? You obviously did not put any money aside. You did not see that the company was greedy, a rip off, and becoming over saturated. 37,000. in one month and none of it invested- not too smart. How did you not pay taxes? 37,000. a month and did not pay taxes. Bankruptcy is stupid- especially round 2. You should have to sell all of that clothing first. I do hope that your current company pays for health insurance, however.

    (apologies for length) People who suddenly, literally, go from broke to having money to burn, are NEVER prepared for the actual handling of that money. It's all about
    BUY NOW! BUY NOW! SPEND SPEND SPEND. It'll last forever.
    My brother in law is a financial specialist and he said over 90% of folks who win the lottery (in Canada you don't pay taxes for the first year on any winnings, giving people a chance to invest or find a way to pay less taxes the next year when you pay taxes on any remaining principal) or, like her, make a lot of money quickly, actually go bankrupt.
    90%! Let that sink in.
    He said one should always engage at least a bookkeeper, if not an accountant when fortunes change so drastically. Someone who is outside of family and friends and will keep them "in line" so this doesn't happen.
    AND most importantly research, learn, ask and be aware that with money comes more responsibility. Take charge and never, ever, ever, just tell someone to "handle" your money! Always be up to date on all financial transactions and sit with your money manager at least bi-monthly to go over accounts. Know where your money goes. That is the failing of those 90%. They don't want to do the work. Or don't think they need someone or don't want to pay someone to handle "their" money.
    So if you're hollering "It's her own fault.", and only 10% of folks like her do the right thing, don't pat yourself on the back too soon. Think what you'd do. Not what you think she should have. 90% of you are wrong if you think you'd do better.
    It actually sounds more like an endemic thing~in us, as a species, if you look at the hard evidence.
