Yeah, that was one of the best episodes of Rick & Morty. The "Keep Summer Safe" subplot was also excellent.
The ending of this episode, where Zeep flips off Rick realizing the true meaning of the middle finger, was absolutely beautiful.

That may be true, but I don't mind with this show since it's so dense with content, plus its unpredictability and absurdity are really engaging. Throw that in a science-fiction cartoon for existentialist science-fiction loving adults with a good sense of humor about the universe and their place in it, and I don't mind some videos on obscure references or someone's interpretation of the show (each with comments and discussions below) here and there
especially since I'm starvin' for more content waiting on season 3, that damn teaser was a blessing and a curse
This one at least makes a bit of sense, since it applies to every story ever told (especially cyclical ones). Very easy to get a basic story idea this way. I don't see a point in the other Rick and Morty Wisecracks though.
The best part about this episode is that it is a literal interpretation of our planet and its current state. I just wonder how many people got that watching this episode...

Philosophy of BLACK MIRROR Series
Yes please. I love that series, season 3 had one bad episode imo (the one with guns and roaches), but i still loved it. Shut Up and Dance is one of the best tv episodes I've ever seen

Primo S. S. But that episode talked about how if you put technology in your brain, the people who made the technology now have complete control over your senses, and therefore your life. It might've not been the best episode, but certainly not bad
Fried Keenan true, i might've been a bit too harsh, it wasn't as bad as Waldo moments i think, but it's just that the concept doesn't feel as original as the other episodes (it was kinda done in the 5th wave, with worse execution, obviously) and i also felt the social commentary was a bit heavy handed. But yeah, other than that, i suppose it wasn't actually bad.

Now that I have reached a deeper understanding of mainstream TV story structure it's going to be even more difficult for shows to surprise me. Thanks a lot! Well at least I learned a new writing trick, that being to use world building aspects to somehow support/exert the bottomline/propose of your story. Never before had I thought about deliberately creating hypothetical aspects and traits on the world design to make a point. My priorities had always been to make sense/being realistic and/or to summon the audience interest. But with this new understanding of how to make exposition interesting as well as poignant, I'm likely to start writting more exposition in the future.
Just try not to OVERUSE exposition. That can be boring to some readers (i think the 80% of them).
if you ever get writers block just do some worldbuilding in the important parts of your story. it might help.

Your content is consistently enjoyable for me, but this was particularly awesome. An analysis of one of my favorite shows, and a breakdown of Harmon's story circle, gave me some insight into structuring a story. Good job, I'll certainly be happy with more videos like this.

Wow!! I had no idea how much went into storytelling. You’re awesome man! I just started watching your videos and I can’t get enough of the Rick and Morty and South Park ones. Having seen every episode of both of the shows it’s nice to have more content about them haha. I also started the South Park Podcast last night it’s amazing! Huge fan man keep doing what your doing!

I honestly don't mind the ads that Wisecrack puts in the videos. This is THE most amazing channel on YT, they teach so many important things, an education that schools unfortunatley do not provide, so yeah, I can sit through an ad that helps this channel..

The level of entitlement online is absurd. People not only want things to be completely free, but they won't lift a finger to help any of the providers of free stuff make any money, even if it doesn't cost them anything at all.
People do have a tendency to like free things over paid for things....I wonder why.
well the consumers behaviour and relationship to the product is entirely dependant on the vendor and how advertises it. If you offer something for free no kind of investment would be necessary for the consumer to acquire it. Not even thinking about it would be necessary. This in turn leaves the consumer taking the product for granted since it's as available to him as water or breathable air. After all a video online is sure to remain online for what might as well be eternity and since the internet is only becoming more and more accessible it becomes only a matter of wishing it for you to see it again.
Think about it when someone asks what the most valuable possesion of you is it would never even cross your mind to suggest something like water even though it's one of the things few things necessary for you to stay alive.
People must sacrifice to sense worth. A vendors job is to maximize it regardless what he's offering. Don't blame the people. Blame the guy not expecting anything.

Brian that's an extremely limited perspective on Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones is like an insanely long movie, characters change all the time.
Take John, he felt unwanted but priveleged at the same time, so he thought he could get the purpose he wanted in the Night's Watch, then he starts to sympathize with Wildlings through seeing it through their eyes, but can't bring himself to betray the Night's Watch and let them in by force, where they will plunder Westeros, so he tries to create a diplomatic solution. He comes to see that the main threat to those he cares about is not the Wildlings but the White Walkers. He also grew up not really getting along with Sansa but after the death of half his family he realizes how important they are to him, and how much his home and the good of his Northern kinsmen matters to him and decides that is where he is needed. His story is a battle between love, duty, honour and finding out what is the true greater good, and learning to lead.
That's just one example. Almost every character has an arc.
Mackaber Witckin yeah not every show follows that formula although certainly a lot do particularly sitcoms. Look at something books Babylon 5 written as one large story where every major character and the whole galaxy has changed by the end. Also many shows shake things up in the last few episodes of a season so the status quo can change each season.
Brian Norton the point was characters and situation don't change and grow, not the basic concept of the show. The characters and situation in GoT are vastly different from when the show started, and not just because a lot of them are now dead. It's has a story arc where events and choices have lasting consequences and people change.
You should do something whith Adventure Time.

I know this maybe a little late, but what dose the B story with Summer do? Was it just filler?
I re watch the episode and saw that it add two elements to the story.
1 Before the intro, the car goes psycho on two guys, showing the world Rick and Morty entered is dangerous.
2 Around the end, it adds a ticking clock with the military counting down to blow up the car.
Bryan Johnstone her story results in making the ice cream (what rick and morty were in the battery so they could get to it in the first place) taste terrible

This episode is also a good example of another story device both Rick and Morty and a lot of tv shows and movies use frequently, called "Meanwhile at the farm", which basically means that when you have characters in different locations (or universes) and the story of the ones you're following comes to some kind of halt, you check what's going on with the other characters in the other place, until their story comes to a halt also and you go back to the first ones, and the storytellers keep doing that (at least) until they get back together, ie. Checking what's going on with Summer several times during the episode whenever they estabilish what will be happening with Rick and Morty, until all of them get back together. Using this device you don't forget about what's happening with the other characters and gives the storytellers the ability to show us (the audience) just the best part of what's happening with the different characters.
