WWF Unforgiven 1999 took place in Charlotte, NC. The main storyline heading into the pay per view centered around Triple H losing the WWF Championship to Vince McMahon and The Game's efforts to win the belt back.
Triple H won the championship the night after Summerslam 99. On an episode of Smackdown Helmsley challenged Vince McMahon to a match where his WWF Championship belt would be up for grabs. Mr. McMahon was able to compete in the match seeing as Triple "made it personal" by putting his hands on Linda McMahon (Vince was not allowed to get involved with WWF business due to a contract stipulation, however he was able to wrestle Hunter because it was a family matter). McMahon defeated Triple H, and the next night he vacated the Championship while declaring a new champion would be crowned at Unforgiven; the winner of the main event 6 Pack Challenge would leave Charlotte as the new WWF Champion.
Elsewhere on the card Steve Blackman takes on Val Venis, the New Age Outlaws defend their tag belts against Edge & Christian, and Chyna tries to make history in her Intercontinental Title match against Champion Jeff Jarrett.

Just picked up a pizza on my way home from work and this pops up. Time for horsemen business.
RTW and pizza is the perfect combo
I'm eating chicken and a 🌭
What toppings?
@Rabnalldo pepperoni and cheese. It was the special of the night so it was the cheapest 😂
@@mattlewis8889nothing wrong with that, brother 👏 pepperoni is always the safest topping to go with
WWF roster, believes Chazz beat up his girlfriend, jumps him, same roster sees Jeff Jarrett beat up multiple women including employees and managers, nothing.
Those women knew what they were getting themselves into: Mariana didn't sing up for this.
@@Mujanggadidn't he put a camera woman in the figure four?
@@BOABModels Along with a ring announcer and a "stage manager", yes. lol
Amazing right? It seems like women need to be protected on one hand but celebrated on the other. Chyna was ok as a wrestler but not great by any means. I would rather have Chyna than Sable for sure. She had a good look and got a crowd reaction, so it worked but having her compete with men that were bigger, faster and more experienced than her always seemed off. It's like having the Big Show selling too much for a smaller opponent or when Kidman had matches with Hogan. It was odd to have these 2 storylines going on at the same time. I think that Jeff got paid handsomely on his way out as well.
@@BOABModels Every employee of WWE knows, it's a hazardous work environment just like when camera men sometimes get run over in a rugby or American football match. I'm sure race-car pit-crews have to sign some kind of waver knowing how dangerous their workplace is.
Between stealing Big Show's dad's casket and feeding Al Snow his own dog, Big Bossman was an absolute TERROR during this time.
Yeah. ITS AWESOME! They outta do something like that with Bloodline.
The Bossman was hilariously evil at this time 😂😂
I hope Steve Blackman knows how revered he is on this channel, his contribution to wrestling was well appreciated ❤
Absolutely appreciate him staying in the mid card where he belonged.
At least he made it I've never seen you in the mid card@@brianadkins3880
Steve knew of this show back in his wwf run. Thus why so many quick matches. He just wanted to finish to watch a new video.
How you may ask?
He would stare at thin air until a portal would show up which them became a touch screen connected to TH-cam.
Legend says he is the holy defender of the wwe copyright claims of this channel.
@@brianadkins3880 I don't remember you being on any wrestling show I've ever seen

Im so glad we finally got to Unforgiven 1999!
A bit of context- I grew up in a fairly poor family and the only wwf I ever got to watch Sunday Night Heat on Channel 4.
I saved up my pocket money for weeks and all I wanted was a WWF VHS tape. The main event sold me on picking Unforgiven 1999. I must have watched it about 100 times.
Sunak is that you????😂
Same here @toddspencer! One of my friends at school had sky and she used to 'tape' WWF ppv's for me 1999 - 2001. I used to do chores at home to earn enough money to buy the old silver vision VHS releases. How times have changed!
@ElderDrive haha honestly when I wrote this I expected a sunak comment
This was one of the first wrestling vhs I got as a kid when I started watching, I feel you man I watched this hundreds of times.
The split second pause on the sky high with D'Lo and Henry was cool because you could see them both actually "doing" the move. Thought that was a cool little thing that we don't really see too often in that sense. And I agree that D'Lo is CRAZY underrated!
The New Age Outlaws are back together...yet I see no sign of Bret Hart uttering a two-word sentence...
D'Lo was on such a roll here, but he was never the same after the Droz injury. He, very much understandably, wasn't as intense, physical, or believable afterwards. There were two victims in that match.
Agreed! He definitely lost a lot of confidence after that accident. I don't know if he would have ever been given a main event championship run, but he could have certainly been a top tier star.
Russo leaving a few days after Unforgiven didn’t help
You mean roll, not role.
Know your roll! Lol
@@mrnoahlott Yep. You are 100% correct and as someone that corrects people on the affect vs effect thing........ dammit I hate that I made that mistake. I dutifully hang my head in shame. (no passive aggressiveness here, I honestly hate that I made that mistake)
Edit. Mistake corrected.
The fact that Droz forgave D'lo from the minute it happened until he passed away, yet D'lo still blamed himself, is heartbreaking.
Steve Blackman has such an underrated physique
Cold as ice
Your willing to sacrifice
The lethal weapon.
All natural 💯 I believe 🤙🏿
What's crazy is he was more jacked than this in 1989 about to sign with the WWF before he caught malaria and was mostly bedridden for 2 years.
Dave Meltzer: Gives Kennel From Hell match negative 3 stars
Bruce Prichard: "I take great issue with that minus 3 star rating!"
Conrad Thompson: "You do?"
Bruce: "Yeah. It wasn't that good."
Bryan Álvarez: MINUS. FIVE. STARS!
Brian Zayne from Wrestling With Wregret gave that match zero stars
Roger Ebert: “Two devastating thumbs down for the Kennel From Hell match.”
I give it three black holes. I would give it five, but the dogs humping each other give it enough entertainment value to bump it up to three instead.
Kane with the reverse colors was always my favorite. It looked badass.
Indeed it did. Don’t really care for him wearing the tank top though.
I miss the Road Dogg - shut up!!! 😂
We all do

I never cared what happened after the 1-2-3... Chyna WON the Intercontinental Championship on this night!
Rest in Peace, Joannie.
RIP indeed. It's a shame she couldn't conquer her demons and addictions. She could have been much bigger than she was.
I really don't get, how rhey could run the Chad and Jarrett story at the same time? " How dare you hit a Woman" "I didn't, anyway Jeff Jarrets beating up women on tv every week" " That's completly different.......somehow"
Austin said he's having his own six pack challenge with his beers 🤣🤣🤣
One of the funniest things his ever said!
@@ZachlikesMetal, Austin keeps me laughing. I miss him wrestling
@@criminalmindsgirl2936 Same!
This is one of my first ever wwf VHS tapes the other ones were king of the Ring 99 fully loaded 99 that's when I got into wrestling in 2000 when I was 12 years 👊
bruh same here That front cover got alot of us!
We've got to give credit to Jarrett for not only making Chyna look like a million dollars but also for working as a heel so Chyna's offense gets the proper response.
Mr Jarrett is so underrated. A lot of people hate on him due to his early TNA stuff but the man is so good at telling a story in the ring. He's the kind of guy I would love to have as a friend as he has proven to be a very loyal individual, even as WWF tried to screw him over. Top 5 wrestler in my book.
Pay respects to Ole Slapnuts and Chyna . It was a really 😊clean dusty finish
Double J truly is the King of the Mountain. 👑🏔️
I think ive said this before but it feels weird having Chyna being a face against Jarrett but still does Triple H's dirty work on the outside. Is she heel, babyface or tweener
Yes.
The WWE is doing their selves a disservice by removing your videos.
Your passion on these videos has got me back to watching the current WWE.
Yes! That wonderful to hear!
Sorry Bret vs. Owen from WrestleMania X, you're the second best opening match ever.
😂
Kennel from hell match is a wwf blunder 😂
WWF SmackDowners
WWE RAW-ong.
WWF Raw is Bore
Raw is Shart
Take it or leave it.
Man that Kane attire is probably my favorite attire of his. He just popped on screen with the color scheme
We've never had it so good with all these videos dropping. Nice one.
Suggestion: knowing that their next main PPV will be No Mercy I think that the review of it can be in style of N64 game of the same name. Just for vibes and stuff
I always felt like the Dudley's were much better athletes than they ever got credit for. Mostly because they were chubby but they had more go in them than most guys half their size now
Jericho would end up beating X-Pac one year later at Unforgiven but with Heel/Face roles reversed
Wrestling bios has grown this channel in such a way it needs top rewards bloody awesome we thank u
If only WCW had watched the Kennel from Hell match before making an offer to Vince Russo.
I think they did...and he still got hired
Again, WcW had nothing but Morons at the Helm.
D-Lo is extremely underrated.
You read my mind
I never gave him credit at the time but now looking back he was pretty great.
So is Savio Vega
He reached the top of the mid-card at a really unfortunate time - just as Jericho, the Radicalz, Rikishi and Angle were arriving.
@@BOABModelsAlso never got pushed again after injuring Droz
Steve Blackman opening the PPV? Thats completely unfair to the other matches!
Some people tend to forget about it, but Jericho's initial few months in the WWF were an absolute disaster.
Well at least things look better in 2000.
It wasn't . The guy was great on mic and matches
He was hated in the company
@@JonySmith-bb4gx At that point any way.
@JonySmith-bb4gx Nah. His work and booking sucked as well. McMahon even told him "Your contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on." He's lucky that he wasn't released.
The Kennel from Hell match. What a hilarious disaster haha.
Al was right they could of had trained dogs with their trainers under the ring with them just growling and snarling
I mean in movies they literally do that with 10 dogs alone
I feel like the Kennell From Hell match would be a fun one to include in some of the video games. About the only way to do it right. As long as you can't hurt the dogs.
Royal Rumble where wrestlers get mauled by dogs after being eliminated.
7:16 Somewhere in Ireland, Jay Hunter is laughing at this.
Best show on TH-cam. I watch it while I’m at work. And it just makes the day go by so much quicker.
In 1999, a year lacking in entertaining *matches* for WWF (not angles/moments/promos - matches), D'Lo vs. Mark Henry was such a gem.
The British Bulldog is more over than the entire AEW roster because of this series!
Watching Austin be a strikebreaking goon beating up folks just wanting safer working conditions really should have tipped us off to his heel turn.
The refs were authority. Striking or not they were getting a hiding!
STUPID @@SBandy
Nurse BB. Real name Kathy Dingman.
She would later wrestle in the Asylum era of TNA as Taylor Vaughn.
It's kind of odd as during this final wwf run The British bulldog usually wore jeans and work boots but here he wore his traditional union jack attire
Whoever told Dr Tom Pritchard it’s ok to ref in blue sweatpants should be given a stern talk
The debut of the Rock's new theme which lasts until 2001.....with the Music Volume 4 version with Rock's spoken lines used in 2004.
The Kennel From Hell match is better watched with the alternate commentary track that Kevin Kelly & Mick Foley did for the Hard Knocks & Cheap Pops DVD.
You are the hardest working man on TH-cam! Much love we appreciate you.
Busted open and wrestling bios crossover please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a blast it be seeing Dudley praise your hard work as a fan and asking you interesting question about the business
Bro, you are awesome. Thank you for creating and sharing this series and channel.
The D-Low Brown theme music for the intro is legendary.
I just got off work and i have no work for the rest of the week lol. And what a perfect video to debut on my "Friday". You are like a fortune teller or something
Kennel from Hell gave Mick Foley enough material for three more books
Legend has it Chuck Norris did battle with Shin Blackman the battle was so fierce it killed the dinosaurs and both men had to go into hibernation and be reborn
I don’t know what it is but the Steve Blackman intro always makes me bob my head ever since it was updated. Great job Bios!
I saw Bossman at a house show and he said (will always remember this as a kid): "Nailz, at Summer Slam, I'm gonna kick your @$$." Such language. 😱
Bless you man, bless you. You took me to my boyhood days watching these shows ❤
Shamrock was one of my favorites during this time. Dude was WWE’s biggest missed opportunity and a misused talent. Mic skills needed work but his in ring ability was awesome
Yeah he was awesome. It sucks how he’s gone from the company just before this PPV
Just what was needed after a day like today!! Thanks bro 👊🏾❤️
I’ve watched all of your videos and I will continue to watch every single one
16:36: Well… we had to get to it eventually…
A D-Lo v Y2J feud would have been so fun to watch, sad we never got to see him wrestle many of the WCW cruiserweights.
It’s interesting seeing the Dudley’s first wearing outfits that are more faithful to their ECW look, especially since after they got the camouflage they’d pretty much stick with those.
Vince's call.
D'lo's theme is criminally underrated. I Always used it as my entrance theme for my create a wrestler in No Mercy
Poor doggie, when his trainer fell onto him
Worse. It was his own owner. Doggo looked back at him like "you OWE me for this"
Here we go! My first WWE PPV as a dedicated fan! (I had casually watched some late 80s/early 90s stuff with my dad when I was young, but this marked me getting back into it on my own after sitting out the New Generation)
First 2 matches 2 chinlocks. Wcw needs to take notes. That is if Turner with his millions of dollars provided his staff with working pens
The intro having Dlo’s music is the tits. Dlo was my first favorite while the Rock was really coming up, and it killed me when Dlo turned on Rock.
Just two more PPVs until we got to Survivor Series and the debut of our final Attitude Era hero.
The Rock debut that iconic Know your Role (New Version) theme song on this night
Vince and everyone on that roster are lucky Ken shamrock didn’t physically go to bat for Bret in Montreal. Because he is wiping out the whole roster in about 2 minutes.
Sad he never came back. Was probably 10 years before his time.
Stevie Richards is having trouble making friends. Hope this doesn't lead to him becoming bitter and wanting to censor all the fun we're having.
Love the danger at the door intro 🔥
This was my first live PPV as a lad. I can't believe reliving the war is finally at this point.
Loved seeing Bulldog wear the union jack tights for this event. Sadly, I believe it's the last time he did. I wasn't fond of the jeans and combat boots look he used afterwards.
If you're tired of the hardcore matches now. I don't know what you'll do for all the one's next year.
As a kid though those backstage matches were FIRE haha, I understand the redundancy now but man, I loved those kind of matches back in the day
You know, that episode of Smackdown will not be the last time we see the Undertaker on Reliving the War till he comes back. He will appear at the fan axxess highlight video at Mania.
Along with Stone Cold.
Loving how you've just suddenly snuck in KOF music, but it does make me feel like I'm watching Botchamania. Confusion Jones over here
The customary 'D-Lo Brown was so entertaining' statement, and do ya know what? I LOVE IT ❤ loved the guy, the Billy Kidman of WWF, so good to watch, so consistent and so underrated at this time!
An end of an era as this is Davey's last match in the Attitude Era wearing his Union Jack themed gear (or at least televised anyway), he goes to jeans from now on.
Yeah I didn't understand that
How can u wrestle in jeans ?
Your movement is restricted. How is that supposed to make it better
1:41 starting off with the Wrestling bios goat!!
Unforgiven 99 was the last WWF PPV my local video store had to rent ending a run of every Fed PPV since Rumble 98. Maybe the owner was a Ken Scamrock fan & decided to stop ordering the tapes
They're cursed because of the Kennel from hell match
Val Venus would be proud of xpacs jackhammer bronco buster
This was the first ppv I purchased when I started working my first job, I still have this on VHS.
For anyone who hasn’t, check out the original promo from the 6 pack challenge one of the WWF’s best production packages at the time.
The weird thing about the 6 Pack Challenge is that technically Big Show should've been the legal man the moment Kane punched him, since literally everyone standing on the outside is a potential tag.
I remember watching this pay per view back in the day with my grandma when it aired back in 99. Good times.
D’Lo Brown’s entrance music was extremely slept-on
I still can't believe the Kennel From Hell match was a real thing 😂
Oh I can not wait until we get to the Bossman Big Show feud with Big Show's dad's funeral. Between what he did there and what he did with Al Snow's dog, Bossman was a hater well ahead of his time.
Bulldog was a good replacement but it should have been El Dandy
I forgot how crazy the al snow/boss man angle was 😂
We can all certainly agree on one thing my friends- D.Lo Brown's theme tune owns every room
In the words of British treasure John Fashanu: "AWOOOGA!"
Contender ready!

(John Anderson hands a yellow card to Wolf.)
I watched Unforgiven 99 last night before watching this episode. I'm a big fan of Chyna, but damn man if you watch her match with JJ, He is not only calling every single little spot but literally directing her where to go at times and even having to like run around her or spin her around to get the positioning right. She was still super green here.
You are the 1st person to call me smart. Thank you sir.
I'm near the beginning! I seen this posted 22 seconds in. Thank you for great videos on my favorite wrestling era. With that being said, today is pretty damn good now as well, but Stone Cold is and forever will be my favorite!
1999 was a great year for wwf..i never missed a raw..
What makes the Steve Blackman stuff so good is that he is a legit badass
The low buy rate is pretty good foreshadowing for what happened to the company during during Triple H's reign of terror
Great video but that was just an Electric Chair from China not and Electeic Chair Drop. Keep up the work, you legend😅
