  • A huge shout out to Mermaid Treasure Hunter and DirtFishMish for inspiring me. Both amazing channels and also check out Cory The Treasure Hunter. An interesting comparison I hope. Unboxing the Quest Scuba Tector Pro and comparing it with the Pulsedive both with the standard coil and the larger one. Not at all professional I know sorry. I know it is long but I wanted to do a thorough test. I will do an underwater test soon.

    To make a fair test you would need to put both machines on maximum power. One has a three levels with a boost mode and the other has five settings, to test them both on their own setting number three is a little arbitrary and does not make it clear especially when you are testing to detection failure.

    • @NathanielOutdoorAdventures

    Go with the Nokata 1st in the water for a 10 meter by 10 meter, or wherever you want, on highest setting with 5" coil 1st, then 8" coil. After those 2, then use the Quest to see if it finds anything the Nokta missed. Before going to bigger coils. That might be a good way to see the differences in the water. Good luck.

    • @NathanielOutdoorAdventures
      @NathanielOutdoorAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good advice and I will do that soon. I have used the Nokta in water on full sensitivity with the smaller coil and it struggles finding the small Swiss coins. you have to be nearly touching them to pick them up but with the larger coins and rings etc it finds them no problem. I will do a comparison again soon

    Good afternoon!
    My name is Fernando Trindade and I live in Brazil, state of Minas Gerais.
    I would like to buy a scuba tector of the quest but I am not finding it here, I would like to know if you know a store that you send to Brazil? so that I can buy? do you know the value of the scuba tector? if you can help me I appreciate it, sorry if the translation is not correct because it is done by google translator.
    I count on your support.
    Hugs...

      I think the Pulsedive hits deeper particularly with the larger head, the Quest is a bit more sensitive so can find smaller targets. If I had to choose I would say Pulsedive with the larger head.

    Also PI detectors are primarily for use over heavily mineralized soils and do not work very well without mineralization.
    Your comparison without salt water or a mineralized soil present may fall outside of the intended areas of use and as such may be completely irrelevant as to their actual
    performance in the environs intended… you might want to be very careful here as a retraction of your findings may be needed upon further investigation. It may not reflect the a performance of these machines in the real world at all.
    Also your choice of power levels to compare was rather arbitrary and not based on much more than your guestimate…
    I would crank em both up to max which would reflect how most users tend to run their detectors while using them.
    This video definitely calls for a follow up with the above parameters to be more meaningful and accurate.
    IMHO

    • @NathanielOutdoorAdventures
      @NathanielOutdoorAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have already done a follow up. But I really appreciate the input. I compared both machines at full power in a salt water swimming pool. Similar results though both did a little better. The conclusions about the machines were pretty much the same. I like both of them for different reasons

    In other words, please don't buy neither of them 😅... Can anyone suggest me a good one for under water use?

    • @NathanielOutdoorAdventures
      @NathanielOutdoorAdventures  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would suggest using a normal waterproof detector such as the Simplex for fresh water or the Legend for salt water or with a higher budget the Manticore and just use it with a shortened shaft. Use a plastic trowel. I don't like the skinny wire the Deus 2 has for underwater use

      I will be doing another comparison on full sensitivity for both. The Quest was also not on full power. But I also wanted to show them on lower settings and how sensitive those settings are. It would be biased if I only show it set on the max. I will also be doing an under water comparison to see if being in water improves the sensitivity. Having said that I have already tested the Pulsedive on small Swiss coins and it struggles to pick them up. I do appreciate what you are saying though and will show them both on full power soon
