Those were “Tin Types”, the odd looking photos in the metal cases. Probably pre-Civil War or shortly after. I can’t believe you walked away from them! You can find “rust and crust” and cheap baskets at any yard sale, but true quality pieces and antiques are hard to find. This one hurt my heart!! I hope those beautiful items found good homes!

The pictures you showed that opened up in little cases are daguerrotypes. The pictures are from the Civil War Era up to the late 1800's. They are VERY collectible!

She needs to watch the antique nomad to learn about antiques. George is so incredibly knowledgeable and a good guy.
And I worry that some of what is being crafted over or torn apart is something of real value.

Oh man! Hurt my heart to see the handprints and all the photos for sale. Made me wonder if there wasn't any family left. So sad.
So sad that all the old family pictures are being sold. I've been in thrift stores that were selling hand painted portrait of people. Makes me sad.
I agree. You would think there would be some relatives...even if very distant relatives....would want some of that history. Even knowing she will resell it makes me sad
I bet that this house is a dealer and these are not their family pictures, based on the items in the home. A lot of collections and antiques.
@@knothead35 Younger people dont care about these old pictures it seems. I see a lot of them in the garbage, even new ones with a baby in it that they probably once gifted to their grandparents.

That home was absolutely beautiful. If walls could talk, I'm sure there would be amazing stories to tell. Breathtaking. The master bedroom is bigger than my entire apartment....not being sarcastic. Loved all of the finds....the photos have to be my favorite. I would have taken the bunnies, as well.....too cute.

I believe your brown 'wood' bowl is treasure craft which I believe is a Woodlike resin type material. Very collectable
I loved the little stone owls and the owl painting you pointed at 3:23. My dad passed away and his spirit animal is owls. I think of him every time I hear one hoot. I recently started collecting owl jewelry and coffee cups, as well as a few decor pieces. I loved all the stuff you got. Totally my style. Thanks for sharing your shopping trips with us!! ❤

First thing I noticed was that she had this sale to herself. Where was everybody? So many missed purchase opportunities too. This sale needed a knowledgable buyer to take advantage of all the goodies. It is sad though, to see somebody's family treasures up for sale to the public.

I use chess pieces for feet on risers. Paint them first so they are all the same color.

I grew up in Anaheim. Disneyland had portrait artists that cut your profiles as you sat there. Chalk artists too and at knotts berry farm. Id stand there watching until my mother dragged me away! Dont think they had them past early 70s! Im old.
Very Cool estate sale, Julie. All of your choices went together well. The little fawn was sweet, and the old photographs tell a thousand tales. The music sheets were absolutely charming when you bound them with lace and greenery. Make (Wren's? Not sure of spelling) handprint soon. (*V*) Okee-Dokee?

Those two frames with faded pictures are called daguerreotype’s and can be worth a lot of money if they’re of someone famous.

This was a wonderful house. loved the library, heart bathtub and artwork.
The deer was to die for....so sweet. I really like the round frames...hunting for these shapes as well.
