one of the cure’s most beautiful songs
this saved me a million times, this music is a soft pillow in a hard night
Plainsong has this awesome power to captivate me, pull me over and through huge waves of emotions and then reduce me to tears. And decades on, it never fades. It feels like time travel, it’s pure magic. This performance is gorgeous
This song always takes my breath away. It's absolutely divine.
The Cure..... a band of brilliant musicians fronted by a genius
the most important song from the most important album of my life.
There are no words to describe the emotions listening to this song
This song is so meaningful to me.
One of the best songs they have ever produced. The lyrics are intense and fragile. This song is a masterpiece. Deserves a place in the top 200 of the world's best songs ever.
one of the finest songs of all time
My best friend died two weeks ago... Our first concert was The Cure in Essen/Germany 1989 and I remember this song, and how I felt when the lights went on at
The Cure still the greatest in 2020.
Something about this song both sang to my heart in 1990 and it still sings to my heart today....
'it's just the way I smile' is a perfect ending to this song. Incredible.
I know you also smiled when seeing Robert smiling at the beginning.
Everytime when I listen to Disintegration which is my personal number one album of all time, I know what happens. I know the windchimes, I know what follows, I know everything. But then, everytime the same story, it hits me like a hammer when the keyboards, the bass and the drums enter the room suddenly.
Robert still has the ability to send shivers down my spine with his unique/beautiful voice - so much passion and soul given to word...
Maybe it's just me but I think by standing on stage from the start he helps giving the rest of the band the right credit they deserve. He's not playing on anticipation to jump on stage. Chapeau.
The Cure were one of the first "alternative" bands I listened to way back in 1986, when I was attending journalism school for the U.S. Navy. Over the next couple of years I added to my collection bands like Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and many others. Music I still listen to today. In my last year in the Navy -- 1992 -- my ship, the USS Independence, made a visit to Sydney which was one of the greatest moments of my life. I believe we were there to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Coral Sea. My ship was an aircraft carrier, and I was on the main deck as we came through Sydney Harbor, and one of the first things I saw was the Sydney Opera House. What a moment that was.
