I think the idea behind the system is that worlds meta is unknown. So if the best teams on 14.12 go to worlds but worlds end up being more like 14.3 the emea teams will suffer. However I agree that there is too much value placed on past splits
So you want past splits to be completely irrelevant like it used to be? What's the point of playing all year then? Let teams play in August/September and three best teams go to Worlds. It's entirely KC's fault for playing terribly all year.
