Broccoli Pasta 2.0 is my variation of a Calabrian broccoli pasta which overcooks the broccoli to make the sauce. I never loved overcook broccoli but in this recipe, but when cooked in garlic and oil and pureed, its very delicious.

Just made this recipe and it was incredible! The roasted broccoli really takes it to another level. When I make this again I would prob leave out the pecorino from the sauce just so the broccoli sauce tastes even stronger. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

I made it just now, and I', still grinning all over from this dish! This is so amazing. Great taste and bite, the roasted florets and breadcrumbs give it an intense and unique flavor.
I used fusili instead of penne and parmesan, cause I had no peccorino. Tastes great too. More work than the traditional pasta with broccoli, but definitely better in my book.

I just made this because I had some broccoli in my fridge I needed to use up and it was so delicious! I appreciate that this uses every bit of the broccoli so nothing goes to waste. I tweaked the sauce slighly since I had some parsley and a lemon wedge I needed to use soon, so I blended the parsley and tiny bit of lemon juice with everything else. Will definitely make again!

I love the broccoli breadcrumbs and roasted itty-bitty florets. I too never waste any part of the broccoli. So glad to see Pecorino Romano utilized in this recipe. Love, love, love! I’ve never made a blended purée, but I usually steam my broccoli so much that it breaks down a lot in the pasta. I prefer steamed broccoli to keep the nutrients. In my experience most broccoli stems don’t require that much peeling. Love this recipe!!!

This recipe rocks! My kids love it and so does my Wife! She is a always on a diet though, so I substitute one whole avocado and a squeeze of lemon juice. If there is one hint I can give to others it is to use a quality pasta or you will tear it to shreds when you emulsify the sauce with the cheese. Well Done!

Love it. Only thing different around our house is that we use whatever pasta we have in the pantry. Sometimes we even throw a mix of pastas into it as we use up leftovers. There never seems to be a full box/package of pasta in the house. And my favorite is to add bacon... but that is because I like bacon.

He used a powerful blender, not a food processor, but a food processor would probably work I would imagine (I don’t own one yet, but want to soon). Thank you for the information though! My mom recently gifted me a vitamix blender, and I have been debating about whether or not to keep it or to trade it in and use the money for the food processor that I want (Breville). The more I research though, the more it seems like a blender is still a really good tool to have in the kitchen.
I’m so glad that you commented about getting an error code earlier when you tried to comment. I was getting the same damn thing when I tried to comment for a while around 5:30 to 6:30 PM Pacific Coast time. I honestly thought that I was put on a “time out“ by TH-cam, because that has happened before to me multiple times, but I couldn’t figure out for the life of me who I might have pissed off to deserve it this time LOL. Usually the time out will last longer than an hour though, so it was confusing

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 hello again! That’s a tough one deciding between trading in the vita mix for a food processor or not. I’ve watched and read good things about the vita mix brand. As for as not being able to comment, I too couldn’t for at least 30 minutes and was starting to think the same as you had! I don’t mean that your name is genuinely brutal, I couldn’t help but think through what ethic cleansing meant and has done to humanity before then thinking what anti ethnic cleansing could mean. It gave me a chuckle because I couldn’t help but think about the term. Hence brutal, in a darkly humorous way.

I also come from an Italian Family and have eaten Broccoli & Cavatelli, but I find it bland, so I add crumbled sausage. The thing with that dish, I don’t like chucks of firm broccoli with my pasta. I understand Italians don’t like firm ingredients mixed in with their pasta either. I am going to try this dish as it seems what I’m after. I probably would like the garlic chopped and in with the bread crumbs, not the sauce. I also would use chicken broth to make the sauce, but that’s how we Italians are…..lol, making it our own. Thanks for a great recipe, Rob from NJ.
