I have Uno Synth Pro (desktop)... I love sound of the morphing oscillators and filters on this device, access to all option is quite easy already in older version so the added knobs are not necessarilysomething that can convince me to upgrading. What I like: - powering it through dedicated power supply is definitely better for level of noise - additional "Link" function for filters - there is also something described as "Tracking" - it also not exist in the previous version of synth - I think I don't have "Loop" function on Env in the older Uno Synth Pro - there is also added "Bassline" which is also something new - I like you can modify 3 oscillators at the same time. - third envelope What I don't like: - buttons for sequencer are much bigger than button for "keyboard" - "keyboard" is very limited and the range of keys is smaller than in the previous version of synth - overall the access is much faster to many options (because of multiple buttons/knobs) but I have strange feeling that the older version was more logical designed and easier to learn - there is no "modwheel" or "pitchweel" in the newer version
Neat synth. The evolution (and improvement) of this range has been fun to watch. I'd love to have a play with this one (especially as it desperately wants to be a drum machine).

Deceptively the specs read "Four voice modes: Legato, Mono, Paraphonic and Bassline", but how many voices does this actually support. All the reviews i've seen or read seem a bit sparce on this point - How many voices?

I like the synth, I would like to have a VST version of it. I'm wondering what VST synth would be closer to this one from what IK Multimedia has to offer.
This seems like the kind of synth that you really need to sit down with for a while to really understand. One thing I'd love to know more about what you can do with the CV I/O and how it behaves when processing external signals, do those follow the envelopes or do they just pass straight through the filter and effects?
Based on my experience w the 1st unosyths firmware and pointless roadblocks to updating said firmware, i would, unfortunately, not recommend a synth from this company :(
Seems pretty decent, but it also seems like it may have difficulty competing. It seems fairly solid, but it doesn't really stand out among the other synths in its class.
Sounds bloody amazing to me. The workflow is improved over the previous Uno Synth Pro. If I didn’t already have the Uno Synth Pro, I would definitely pick this up. They probably made a good decision to focus on the sequencing interface here. I would like to see what they might do with a full keyboard version.
Baggy Synth pro x?😂 Better tell about how working a previous Uno Synths with all baggy minuses. We already know the benefits of the synth, without advertisement. In fact releasing a new synth without fixing errors, and even advertising it - looks like stupid money making. Plus as I see there nothing new from uno synth pro, just more faders, that's all. So another confirmation that this is just making money, and on a buggy box.
Did they solve the issue with the noise that behaves different with the volume knob (80% +-) and the bugs with the filter link not saving properly + the bug not saving lfo sync(saved like a global paramter)? Did they iron out the clicky envelopes and the little frequency artefact leaking trough that occurs with snappy bass notes when held on?
I do not quite understand why it is 200 € more expensive than Uno pro desktop, as I bought it this year, and about 90 € more expensive than normal Uno synth Pro. Yes, that thing got cheaper...I think it's going to be discontinued. Very strange, after such a short time. The pro X at the same price as it is now, with a proper Keyboard like the Pro, that would be a hit. And even better it would be, if one wouldn't need to register the product and make a user account for a simple firmware update. A deregistration (if you want to sell your synth) is reported to cost some $... And btw, local off is demanded by users from the beginning for the Pro, but not yet implemented.
Can it make anything else than harsh sounds? Also it sounds noisy, is it, or is it your signal chain? In general: why do so many guys demoing synths think that music makers are only interested in distorted, harsh and gritty sounds. Yes, distortion is fun, but it gets old.
Fair enough@@BoBeats, sorry for sounding a bit harsh myself, haha, guess it also has to do with how most demo similar mono synths, like the TB 303 (like it has no other sounds than the cliché farty acid house). You have otherwise a lot of great content that is appreciated. But a serious question: can it also produce more creamy sounds like an SH101 (Boards of Canada-style)?
I wonder, sometimes, what designers are thinking of and whether they have bothered to look at what is already out there when they are designing a product. The first thing that I question is why, 40 years into midi, did they bother with the keyboard? Actually, why does everything have to have an onboard sequencer these days? Ok, we are obsessed with compactness but there are so many instruments around now that are so tiny as to make musicality very difficult and if we make any one thing more difficult in order to be able to squeeze it into a box of a limited size, don't bother, it will forever be an irritation.
The mini keyboard is there mainly so it will be easy to test sound while programming it without anything else attached. The sequencer has like 50 layers of parameter locks/modulations so it's more like a very comprehensive modulation source, you can create complex rhythmic parts no midi control will ever be able to accomplish, not to mention it will be way tighter than midi. I for one love compactness but if you don't there are so many others without all that (that i don't find any interest in it) So the designers are thinking about people like me, I guess
The original Uno Pro also suffered from filter bleeding up to the point it needed a noise gate afterwards, but then this ain’t great for the internal fx use. Does anyone know if IK multimedia fixed this already and in what firmware version?
Most of the noise was because of the shitty USB power supply they used. You could eliminate almost all of it by using a battery pack. This one having an external PSU gives me hope, but there's still some funky artefacting going on in the high frequencies.
@@Gainn I understand, however it’s not the noise bleeding through, but the oscillators themselves. Quite annoying especially if the last notes you played are in the very audible high mids. It’s like an unwanted drone machine. The USB noise is a different problem altogether, that can be avoided.
@Gainn not sure what you mean by 'always on'. As long as an oscillator doesn't pass through a digitally or voltage controlled amp, they are by definition always 'on'. In a typical sound flow oscillators first travel through the filter and only then through the Amp. On the uno pro, the Amp doesn't close fully after the Amp's release phase has passed. The remark on the X in the video about the bleeding suggests that issue isn't solved yet on this one as well. About the noise, that can be avoided by using the DIN MIDI connectors instead of USB MIDI, and use the USB only for power. DIN MIDI connectors are opto-isolated, hence you can't have audio loopbacks through them creating hum or noise.
Dunno bro, 6 hundreds for a synth with no real polyphony... only Roland can pull it off, not IK. I love IK and have a lot of their product but i don't know how this one is going to compete with some big boys in the field. Your are right. We can buy polyphonic Roland synth below UNO SYNTH PRO X price (JD-08, JX-08, JU-06A,S-1, ...) or at the same price with multiple synths engines (SH-4d). In my opinion this UNO SYNTH PRO X is too expensive (we can buy the non X version at 280 € brand new).
@@BoBeats Hello Bo, I just found the manual and it should work. But unfortunately only mono audio source. It's a pity... The manual says: "Audio IN - Connect an external mono audio source. The incoming audio can be processed through the internal soundengine or simply passed through as a daisy chain with no processing."
@@Patozzi Ah! Thanks! I thought it didnt work with the FX. But yeah, mono in because the signal path is mono until the FX (which are stereo). This is because its a analog synth so filter is (usually) mono and same with distortion/drive circuits. New Analog Heat+ is stereo however if I dont misremember if you are looking for stereo analog fx with digital fx too

I feel like people are being paid to hype this thing up. Nothing sounds special on it, and the keybed sucks. Why choose this over other synths? Im not seeing it.
I feel like half the gear reviews in the past decade are all paid to hype up basically junk. Can't stand the people who just talk the whole video to be know it all. They can't play but they can talk like they do. Seems like you have to do deep digging to find the 1 video to address your questions or to get a real how it sounds demo. TH-cam needs to be swept and cleaned from vids thar are just babbling to get free schwag from the big names.

First Uno Synth was batter powered. But it is much more limited synth.
OG UnoSynth has batteries. But it's eating them very fast so it's better to power it with charger.

It is a nice sounding synth as the original UNO Synth is. But for the price of $500 I’d rather go with Microfreak which is $350.

In the intro demos I have several more gentle sounde. When it comes to which kinda sounds I create to demo a synth I just go where the synth takes me

@@james9789 model D is great for that, 3 oscillators you can tune to a triad then run through a lush reverb . Sounds creamy !!
