Sierra Boggess & Andrew Lloyd Webber - Love Never Dies (Live 2010.02.26) - From the new musical of ALW "Love never dies", a sequel to "The Phantom of the opera"
I saw her perform the song when I saw the show in London a couple of years ago. It was absolutely incredible, the entire audience was up on its feet applauding. It was a show stopping moment. She sounds even better live....and stunning looking too!
You really can tell how much he respects her. Especially when you watch her performance of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" for the Classic Brit Awards in 2012 and the camera cuts to him with tears in his eyes watching her admiringly.
That right there. That's my biggest dream. To be on stage, singing anything PotO-related, with ALW accompanying me. This video's getting re-watched a thousand times by me, so I can live vicariously through Sierra, until I can make that dream come true!
A truly lovely song. I don't know where Webber pulls up this stuff. I personally love Boggess' voice. She just sounds heavenly to me. It doesn't hurt that she's also a natural beauty. Boggess doesn't just go through the motions from everything I've seen. She puts her heart and soul into her performances, and it pays big dividends with those who are fully tuned in to her efforts and talent. I could put this on an endless loop because it totally carries me away.
Sarah Westmoreland I have to believe you added a wink at the end of your statement -- since this is so off-subject. If you are referring to "my" half-brother Loki, played marvelously by Tom Hiddleson, I'll be sure to mention your name. I liked Anna's singing but the make-up they gave her made her mouth look a little hard. Maybe a paler lip colour would have been better. Emily, I don't think it's unreasonable to have favourites. "Those kind of people" was uncalled for.
@@anniespencer1936 exactly what I think too. If her make-up was a little "softer" she woud've been perfect. In her instagram u can see how beautiful she is with a natural make-up (btw, english is not my native language, so I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong 😁)
@@MrsCurrant Your English is great! I agree entirely, that make-up made Anna look hard. In the documentary that comes with the Dvd she's wearing more natural make-up and looks really nice.

The songs currently in the charts will be gone in six months. This is the kind of thing that sticks, and rightly so. LND really should be given more publicity.
While I think that Anna’s voice was much better for the mature Christine, I always preferred Sierra’s interpretation, especially in Beneath the Moonless Sky, knowing the phantom, Christine would have recognized his music style, and based on the song, she’d have known he left. I always loved the subtlety of Sierra’s Beneath a Moonless Sky, she acted the way a grown woman with a sleeping child the next room would have- quiet, and already having an inkling of who hired her. The Australian interpretation in this part (in my opinion) was too over the top.
How is this talented, beautiful woman not super famous yet? I've been aware of her since POTO at the Royal Albert Hall, but the world needs to get in on it! She's amazing!

@@ivandr2923 she doesn't really sound british - she uses bizarre vowels whenever she sings any of the phantom/lnd repertoire, presumably to sound more operatic. to be fair, in this song i think it works pretty well.
@@cgm530 It's like The Mid-Atlantic accent in fact. As a non-native English speaker, I've always been amused why British rock and pop singers sound like American?
Love this score. Sierra is an incredible talent, but the show itself doesn't make sense. POTO, both the book and the musical, are Gothic thrillers, NOT romances. It's VERY clear in the book that Christine loves ONLY Raoul and is actually terrified of the phantom, who is essentially a crazed, obsessed stalker, who has her in this thrall. The story is her struggle to escape him. This is also the case in the Webber musical, which follows the book quite closely. (The Yeston musical is a completely different story.) Christine NEVER wanted to be with the phantom and never alluded to it whatsoever in either the book or Webber musical. In both, during the scene with Raoul on the roof of the opera house (prior to "All I Ask of You" in the musical), Christine even says, "I can't go back down there. He'll kill me," referring to the phantom. She NEVER loved him, but only pitied him as a tragic, lost soul. Therefore....LND the musical makes NO sense at all because Christine from POTO would NEVER have entertained a romantic relationship with the phantom, much less had a son with him, based on his psychotic and controlling nature. Thus, this song also makes no sense in a musical that makes no sense, either. POTO didn't need a sequel, but it would have made more sense to make the story revolve around the phantom tracking Christine to New York to make a final attempt to truly possess her with HIM dying in the end (NOT Christine) during his attempt to steal her. Webber wrote a fantastic score (as usual), but he should have incorporated it into a different show.
I hated the story of LND, it’s like fanfiction! Also people take it to mean Christine always loved the Phantom, whereas as you say in the original it certainly doesn’t come across that way :/
I’m not a full supporter of LND either but I think certain elements are good if they had just been done better. It wasn’t really so much that she was in love with the phantom, but in POTO there is a war between raoul and Phantom over her. Phantoms music captivates her and he gets to her mind and spirit by the music and portraying himself as an angel of music/ her father to try to ensnare her. Raoul has her heart and her love. In the graveyard / wandering child scene he even says “once again she is his..” so it’s not so much that she loves him but he captivates and controls her. So you do see that portrayed again in LND and again a bit of a war between him and raoul fighting for control over her. Now while I love beneath a moonless sky for the music, again k don’t agree that she would’ve come to find him and then they banged but he’s the one who felt bad and left her after he basically finally got what he wanted but at least there are a few things ok In it. I like talking about it cuz I still love the music from LND

+Kate Wibberly I think the original poster just meant she had more of a "Carlotta" voice rather than a "Christine". Anna sings beautifully as you say though.
Sydney Marshall On the contrary, I believe Anna O'Byrne is perfect for this version of Christine - ten years older and with a voice whose richness shows that it's continued to grow over ten years. Not at all discounting the beauty of Sierra's voice, which is little short of celestial -- but she sounds more like an original-Phantom Christine, young and fresh and sweet, where Miss O'Byrne has the vocal weight and power for the perfect older-Christine. :)

Ditto. I’ve never heard of this song before until someone recommended me to watch Sierra Boggess sing this song. I think I’ve been living under a rock for too long because I can’t believe I’ve never heard of her til today! I always saw Sarah Brightman as Christine but Sierra is something else. The song as performed by Sierra is magical ! Best for people who are broken-hearted or those left earlier by a loved one. If you fall in love - you fall ! The only consolation is that LOVE LIVES ON - WHILE WE MAY BE GONE !
Palaso Lexveritas and don't I know it. I unwittingly used this song for my partners funeral, knowing how mad he had gone for this musical when it came out. Puede que duela…
Y gozarás..
Tan pronto te le rindes
Te postras a sus pies,
El amor toma tu vida
Y tu muerte también
Te usa a su capricho
Te hace enloquecer
Y luego te tortura…
Brindándote placer.
El te da gozo
Y te hace sufrir
Y aún cuando se ha ido…
Sientes que sigue en ti…
Es el amor…. (se repite)
Es el amor
Que nunca muere!
Sigue latiendo
En tu interior…
Es el amor
Tan inmutable.
La vida flota
Con amor
La vida sigue
Por amor….
+fxntasyland ajá si. Lloyd Webber compuso la música. la letra es de alguien mas... y lo que yo hice no es uns traducción literal
.
Her technique is not the best, but I'm still in love with her performance of this song every time!
how can anybody not like this...*crying* this is amazing :')
I can't express enough how much I love this song.
"The voice of an Angel." She performs this so much better than Anna O'Byrne who sound more like she should be better cast as Carlotta!
Pai de Nino Anna O'Byrne sings beautiful.
hahaha....I kept thinking she had that Carlotta look!!!
Yes as I said earlier, Anna has a hard mouth when she's made up.
This is seriously why I love her so much as a performer. Her voice is just so flawless
There's ... a sequel to The Phantom of the opera?!
Ah!!
WrinkleinTime42 has two major things happen to it😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
There are very few angels of music. Sierra is definitely one of them.
Sierra is brilliant.
Who knows when love begins
Who knows what makes it start
One day it's simply there
Alive inside your heart
It slips into your thoughts
It infiltrates your soul
It takes you by surprise
Then seizes full control
Try to deny it
And try to protest
But love won't let you go
Once you've been possessed
Love never dies
Love never falters
Once it has spoken
Love is yours
Love never fades
Love never alters
Hearts may get broken
Love endures
Hearts may get broken
Love endures
And soon as you submit
Surrender flesh and bone
That love takes on a life
Much bigger than your own
It uses you at whim
And drives you to despair
And forces you to feel
More joy than you can bear
Love gives you pleasure
And love brings you pain
And yet when both are gone
Love will still remain
Once it has spoken
Love is yours
Love never dies
Love never alters
Hearts may get broken
Love endures
Hearts may get broken
Love never dies
Love will continue
Love keeps on beating
When you're gone
Love never dies
Once it is in you
Life may be fleeting
Love lives on
Life may be fleeting
Love lives on
Her voice is beautiful. Warm, gentle and very soft
I think out of all the versions, she's done it the best. What a smack down.
No💯!!!
Andrew Lloyd Webber is pure genius and Sierra is an Angel of Music. I love them both.
I would die if I was singing in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber. o.O He's amazing. Obviously.
Did Andrew wipe a tear from his face at 2:39?
+Fallen Poet looks like it! what else could he be doing to his skin there and then?

I love ALW... he is a on of a kind talent!
I can't get over how much beauty this woman has. Her looks! Her voice!
Sierra is absolutely gorgeous!
I love this song, it tells you so much about love, love for a loved one/love for music etc
No one can sing this song like Sierra! She's amazing, oh my gosh...
I just, I can't express how beautiful her voice is!
That's a piano version, afterall :)
You can see her true power with a full orchestra.
I have seen many shows and concerts so far I have missed Sierra .THIS WILL BE RECTIFIED IN THE FUTURE .
Anyone have a link for the sheet music to this? It would be incredibly helpful
sierra is amazing and ultra beautiful, but the phantom award always goes to sarah.
Sierra is totally awful: not good singer, such bad actress and very ugly; how did u even think of comparing her with great Angel of music?!!
🤷🤷🤷
My god , my god you are such a lovely beautiful woman of a lady. 💖❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Huge Phantom fan and this is my first time ever hearing this song. I'm literally silently sobbing. The words ugh. Lol
Ditto. I’ve never heard of this song before until someone recommended me to watch Sierra Boggess sing this song. I think I’ve been living under a rock for too long because I can’t believe I’ve never heard of her til today! I always saw Sarah Brightman as Christine but Sierra is something else. I’m blown away by her voice!
U need to listen Amy Manford, bro!
Lloyd Webber is Chopin, Tchaikowsky, Lehar, Strauss, Hammerstein, Offenbach all in one person.
Even Webber will beg to disagree with that opinion.
Nobody will agree you.Andrew Lloyd Webber had composed different kinds of music, like rock & roll, contemporary music. He is definitely not a classical music composer. Everyone will agree that he is one of the greatest modern music composers.

No, he certainly isn't :D But Sierra Boggess is outstanding
Isn't that the same melody in the chorus as "Our kind of love" from The Beautiful Game? also by Webber?
Is it just me or has Andrew Lloyd-Weber been the same age for about 35 years?
Still a great performance even though she went easy on this. The theatre version was the real deal, i kid you not. It was LIT
He loved this musical, and although I know Phantom, I'm not a musical lover normally, but this song just captured everything.. The lyrics are just so true.
I love how she feels her songs. Damn I just love Sierra. Stop being so perfect. And gorgeous.
sometimes i question my sexuality
I absolutely love the piano arrangement! Beautiful song, beautiful woman singing it!
Don't get me wrong, the singer is great. But the music is nothing compared to the original musical. It's not catchy enough.
"Love Never Dies" never got a chance..!! This show is AMAZING!! the story is great the MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL! It should of come to America..If I had the $14 MILLION..I would open it myself!!
I saw "Love never dies" musical in Adelphi theatre in London last night. It was sensational! So beautifully sung and with so many emotions. Thank you very much to Andrew Lloyd Webber for composing such beautiful music and to Sierra for singing so beautifully "Love never dies" at the theatre.
