I would've moved it to the CGI series around series 20 and have it so that Victoria would work as Thomas' special coach for extra passengers after being found by Duck, Donald and Douglas, to which Anne and Clarabel wouldn't be too keen on having another brake coach with them, but would eventually warm up to her after Clarabel's brakes fail to stop them.
I can absolutely see myself adapting this one. Like you mentioned, there's already an implication for him having an-"Avalanche" like tale in his past, and overall, Western-ifying the book makes it fit into the lore a little less clunkily. Nice work, and hope you enjoy your break!
Pairing Duck and Oliver up with Old Slow Coach sounds like a very good idea along with Avalanche being the reason why Oliver hates snow. Even having Old Slow Coach being a part of the Little Western is definitely something that really would work and brings further development to an already existing character who barely got any attention.
Oliver: "I'm a Great Western Engine! I shouldn't have to shiver!" Duck: "Rubbish! There are two ways of doing things, the Great Western way, and the wrong way. Sir Topham Hatt said really useful engines do their work whatever the weather, and I agree. Therefore, you are a Wrong Engine."
It only happened in Season 2 because Christopher had a deal with Britt Allcroft and the late David Mitton that the stories he wrote were to be adapted into episodes.
I’m not really afraid of snakes, though sometimes eels do spook me. I would hate to encounter an eel as big as the ones in Mario. The idea of putting Duck and Oliver with Old Slow Coach sounds like an excellent idea. I have no idea why they never did that in season 5.
Since Old Slow Coach, Oliver, Duck and Toad are all from the exact same railway, I am honestly shocked that the later TVS never done anything of an episode with them all together (and I think it's no secret Awdry loved the GWR given his first story inspiration when he was a child at Box, Wiltshire. Hence why said-railway was mentioned many times out of all the other railway companies of Great Britain. Plus, David Maidment used to work on the same railway during BR days). If Old Slow Coach was ever given a name, then I'd think Mildred would've suited her (like that was the original name for Carly until it was changed by the producers believing it sounded too old).
Can I just say, I really like how you would adapt Thomas & Victoria for the TV series! I like how you're expanding on both Oliver & Old Slow Coach, that's really amazing! Here is how I would adapt Thomas & Victoria The stories are part of Season 23 in my version but they take place the day after School of Duck whereas in the ending of Overloaded, Duck explains to Thomas that he helped to restore Dexter. I'm still hoping to find this Railway Series book soon and I can't wait to see James and the Diesel Engines as well as the remaining RWS stories and books!
An old coach being restored also happened frequently in the magazines at least 6 times. Here's what they've become: 1. A tool shed 2. Stalls at an animal sanctuary 3. A station building 4. A children's play train 5. A house (non sentient) 6. A cafe (non sentient)
I’d think those are good ideas. I like the idea of have Eels on Wheels adapted in the CGI Series, but if they were to adapt Eels on Wheels, they would adapt it Series 21 with Ryan and Skiff taking Percy and Toby's roles in the said episode.
It's interesting watching this video, I went on the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Branch Line a couple of weeks ago when I went to Cumbria on a family holiday, and rode a boat on Windermere water.
I can see you're ideas work I feel like that would've given old slow coaches more of a character and would've done more with duck and oliver in the hit era and would explain Oliver's hatred of snow from season 7 For eels on wheels i feel like can be a stand alone story since it didn't really had much to do with the main plot
Your ideas translating Victoria into Old Slow Coach are so cool that I honestly might want to make a couple scripts for them if you'd like to see that. The only big change I'd make is perhaps giving Old Slow Coach a revealed name? Maybe.
I can't remember crap from this book and the other later Christopher Awdry ones. All except for the ones that youve already made videos about and "Thomas and the great railway show", "Thomas comes home", "Great little engines" and "Gordon the high speed engine". "School of Duck" is one of my favorite episodes from the BWBA Era. 😊💚 I love the TATHP refrence in the episode. 😂 "School of Duck" came out in S22.
Interesting concept since Victoria is like Old Slow Coach as they are coaches who were left abandoned and Albert like Oliver was a bit cocky and overconfident, although you could easily just have the stories adapted as they were in the RWS and (this is something HIT and the writers would’ve never thought to do at the time) as the book came out the same year as Season 11 while it could’ve been adapted for it but production for it would’ve already been finished with episodes coming out so they could’ve been saved for Season 12 with a generic red coach being remade for Victoria and what better way to have Albert be used than have Whiff’s model briefly reused for him (with red plastic sheets with the letters FR put over and the glasses removed), though Helena wouldn’t have to reappear. Obviously HIT would’ve just forgotten about them by the time they switched to CGI but maybe during the Brenner era they possibly would’ve considered bringing them back with Helena too (I got my own headcanon in the RWS Albert was one of the leased Furness engines brought to Sodor then he went into hiding there when knowing he’d possibly get withdrawn when returning and then when being found years later he’d be preserved in a museum on Sodor, in the TV Series canon he could be part of that museum Sir Robert Norramby brought up).
Eels on Wheels should be the last story, reason should be that Victoria came from the works and join Thomas Branch and tells Daisy a story about eels and the rest is history. But this is a nice in TVS nonetheless.
What a fun video, I love the travel between eras here, it's really shocking Eels on Wheels was never converted into a story, I remember when there was a big push in the reptile park of sodor back in 2014. If you want ideas for another book to adapt, I would like to see James and the Diesel Engines next, since that had a lot of potential as a book. Have a happy day!
@@eduardoaguero1220 it’s alright. I can understand why you would mix them up. There are some animals that look eerily similar like newts and lizards, sharks and dolphins, etc. This is called convergent evolution.
The original stories from this book were written in 1997 so if the book had been published earlier in time for 1998, it could have been between Series 5 to 7.
some of the adaptations i like you to do after james and the diesels. stop theft(s4). triple header(s4 or 5). useful railway(s6). tit for tat(s6). Thomas comes home. Mountain engines(cgi). Henry and the express. Gordon goes forgin(s7).
I paused the video after your explanation of why you chose Old Slow Coach and thought this: "First Duck is reunited with the Slip Coaches, and now he's reunited with a Clerestory... he sure seemed to get around in his olden days, but I'm afraid his Autocoach friends are rolling over in their scrap piles/whatever object they were smelted int--actually, no, I don't want to imagine my fridge suddenly rolling over. *Cringes.*" Frankly, though, I was wondering why Oliver didn't get a coach to remember him, since, despite already having Toad the brakevan, he at least didn't have coaches associated with him at any time in the franchise already. And then the bombshell dropped at 8:05. Now I can stop mourning for Duck's auto coaches or fearing that their poltergeists will trash my kitchen.
Turns out Duck and Oliver BOTH had autocoaches in the railway series! But they never appeared in the show... does that mean... hmm... it seems I'm not safe from the fridge poltergeists after all. All the same, it would have been funny to see Duck sandwiched between two Auto Coaches and a Clerestory Coach with three Slip Coaches on one end.
Can you make a video on how you would adapt Edward and the Cabbages for season 2 and 3 or 5 and only in those seasons and also you might know me as Trainboy 30 Sidney McKay
I Would Been Adapt Overloaded, Avalanche, Eels on Wheels And Toby's Vintage Train (AKA Toby And Oliver's Vintage And Old Slow Train) In Season 11 Because Albert, Victoria, Helena, Haverthwaite Tunnel, Lake Windermere And Lakeside Would Been Introduced In Season 11 And Also Albert, Victoria And Helena's Models Would Been Built By The Model Makers Of Thomas & Friends And Tugs And Then Duck, Oliver, Emily, Rosie, Toad, Alice, Mirabel, Isabel, Dulcie And Old Slow Coach Would Been Appear In Overloaded, Avalanche, Eels on Wheels And Toby's Vintage Train And Also Old Slow Coach Would Been Having Named Revealed Called Mildred (Due To Being Carly's Original Name)

You could say that ;)

I would PAY to watch that adaptation in Green Bay, Wisconsin in the middle of FEBRUARY.

Oliver and old slow coach. That's a fantastic idea!

Interesting ideas for this book of the series as always as some of them might be included in my own creative series.
Great work, your adaptation ideas are very inventive. I’d like to adapt those for my Thomas & Friends series someday.
I love the idea of using Old Slow Coach in Victoria's place! I wanted Old Slow Coach to be used more so that would be a great way of doing it
I'd like to see how you'd adapt the stories of New little engine for the TVS
I will eventually do all RWS books and stories that haven't been adapted :)
September 3rd 2007 wow I was going to turn one-year-old very soon until next month
I think this is your best idea yet !

its like that with so many Season 5 characters
Season 5 really was the first season where they introduced characters just for merchandise.
