I think Scrambled Eggs and Down the Drain could have worked as S3 episodes. The events of Thomas Gets Bumped could easily set up those stories: Scrambled Eggs: After his Branchline is placed under repairs after the hot sun bent the rails, TFC sends Thomas to help out Edward on his line. The Twins tease him about his blue paint job, but Edward gives a heads up about their behaviour. Later, Thomas is so busy thinking about Bill & Ben he fails to notice a broken down lorry on a crossing and crashes into it, looking like a scrambled egg in the process. The episode ends with the Twins teasing Thomas about his “new coat of paint,” leaving Thomas embarrassed. Down the Drain: Thomas is still feeling embarrassed after his accident in the previous episode and the Twins continue to tease him about it. After leaving the clay pits with full loaded trucks, they find that the Drain is flooded. They try to get to the other side as quickly as possible, but this results in their fires being put out. Even worse, it starts raining heavily and the water begins to rise. At the Docks, Thomas is told about the situation and is asked to go help them. He’s reluctant at first, but is reminded of how important the shipment is. He is able to rescue Bill & Ben despite how high the water level is. Later that day, the Twins thank him for his help and apologise for teasing him. Thomas forgives them and is then told his branch line has been repaired and he will be back on there tomorrow. The episode ends with Bill & Ben whistling goodbye to Thomas, having found new respect for him.
I feel like Scrambled eggs and Down the drain could work as a single HiT episode, with the added 7mins of screen time as follows: 1st act: Starts off with Thomas travelling to Edward’s branch line with the narrator stating he’s going to help while his line’s under repairs. Later, after the twins tease him, he gets so worked up about what he’d say when they next meet that he doesn’t see that the crossing gates are set against him until it’s too late, smashing through them and a farmer’s lorry that was crossing at the same time. Bill and Ben see Thomas arrive with his “new coat of paint” and laugh about it, much to the Blue engine’s embarrassment. 2nd act: The scene transitions from a shot of Thomas’ unused outraged face to that of Bill and Ben heading down the line with a fully loaded train through the countryside, after leaving the clay pits. As they round a curve, they realise that the track is flooded (that flooded track set from Thomas and the Storyteller could be reused), and so try to rush through the water to make it to the other side. This is to be all in vain of course as the water splashes out their fires! Back at Brendam Docks, Thomas is waiting for the Twins when the dock managers runs up to him, saying that Bill and Ben are stuck. At first, Thomas is reluctant to help, given how the pair have treated him so far, but the dock manager reminds him that the shipment is urgent and cannot be delayed or else the ship with leave without the clay. Thomas comes to help and saves the day. Later at the sheds, the twins apologise for teasing him. Then, the Fat Controller comes up and tells Thomas that the repairs to his line have been completed and that he can return the next thing tomorrow morning. Thomas is glad that he can now be proper friends with the Twins at last and to also have experienced a new part of Sodor. - What A Picture! I would just like to say that your Adaptions sound very interesting! Here's how I would adapt the Thomas and the Twins Trilogy: Scrambled Eggs and What a Picture! are merged into one episode and they take place during the events of Tale of the Brave as well Trevor Helps Out and Down the Drain. And the reason the bridge on Thomas' Branch Line was from the events of Washout! leading to the events of Tale of the Brave.
Can I just say I enjoy your adaptation discussions quite a bit? They take the limitations of the model series into account, makes some adjustments to the stories for this reason and that and they're well thought out. Can't wait to see what you got up your sleeve with James And The Diesels.
There are two things in this book that I could never wrap my head around: BoCo’s absence and Thomas being too heavy for the river bridge. I always figured that Daisy would be heavier than Thomas, due to the fact that she’s clearly bigger than him. When I was younger, my mom suggested that she was probably made of a lighter material, but I wasn’t too sure. So I think that I would make this change: instead of the river bridge, it’s BoCo that needs repairing, and Thomas is called to do his work for him. I don’t really mind whether Thomas or BoCo is the main focus of the book, but I do agree that BoCo deserved more attention.
And another thing, if these stories were televised, the end of “Scrambled Eggs” would have been the perfect opportunity to use Thomas’s unused snarling face mask.
The BR Class 101 is 32.5 tons, since Daisy is a Class 101, I’m assuming she weighs 32.5 tons too. As for Thomas, I can’t figure out his weight but he seems like a similar weight. I’ll be back when I fugue out his weight.

I think it's a shame BoCo doesn't appear in "Thomas & The Twins" but in my headcanon BoCo is working on the main line during the events of this book (around 1988-90). It's around this time that my original characters "Derby" and "Matlock" (two diesel units that work on the Norramby branch and to / from the Other Railway) meet up with BoCo at Barrow & Vicarstown. As their names suggest, Derby & Matlock ran on the Derby - Matlock line during their trial service on British Rail. At around this time, BoCo's brother CoBo (D5705) was stored in the old Matlock goods shed. BoCo is surprised when Derby & Matlock recognise him as a Metropolitan Vickers Co-Bo! This starts a train of events leading to CoBo joining the NWR (in about 1990-91); I imagine the annual story "BoCo's Twin" takes place just before CoBo's arrival, as BoCo & CoBo get back at Bill & Ben ("Double Diseasel")!!! @@cindersandashesuk5744 yeah because Bill & Ben would get the 1st laugh in one half of the episode based on Scrambled Eggs and then Thomas would get the 2nd laugh in another half of the episode based on Down the Drain
One thing that recently bothered me about this book is how this was not made after the book "Main Line Engines". Why? Wouldn't Thomas have known Bill and Ben even prior to the events of the book? Why did it take until early 1988 that Thomas would meet Bill and Ben for the first time if the time period the book is set in could have been set much before the late 1980's? Time gaps have always been my problem with the Railway Series ever since I have seen SamTheTrainFan's history video regarding the Arlesdale Railway and why the timeline in it created some major plot holes, and not to mention, The Unlucky Tug's Railway Series timeline video didn't help the fact Thomas' "first winter" on Sodor took place around 1947, which I agree with him on that. I even call bullshit over the fact Thomas would have met Terence in 1947 and then Bertie in 1948 after he being rescued by the American built tractor on caterpillar tracks. The time gaps in "More About Thomas the Tank Engine" made even less sense let alone this book was meant to take place after the events of the 1946 book, "Thomas the Tank Engine". And it's no wonder why I consider most time gaps as bullshit.
in 2015 sam wilkinson wanted to bring fergus and boco back to cgi but it didn't happen, andrew brenner also wanted to bring boco back to cgi but mattel denied it
I always wondered why they didn't adapt these stories they got thomas as the main ,they had the sets , and they'd already ran engines in water and intense rain I guess they didn't care for Christopher's books much but idk they could have even combined 4 stories into 2or 3 as they often did seems like a missed opportunity to me oh well btb the first time I read scrambled eggs it was pop up book and it really breezed over why thomas was on Edward's line and since it was just that story on its own I was left like well that was fun but why are bill and ben at Ffarquhar picking on thomas they should be down by the harbor I bet edward is looking for them lol

That could work pretty well
@@cindersandashesuk5744 yeah because Bill & Ben would get the 1st laugh in one half of the episode based on Scrambled Eggs and then Thomas would get the 2nd laugh in another half of the episode based on Down the Drain
i wonder how boco's return to cgi would be like if boco did return, and i wonder what boco's life was like before he came to sodor
I’d love to see his render based directly on the real Class 28s.
I think it would work as a Season 4 episode
i like your new subscribe promo!
Thanks! :)
Can you do James and the Diesel engine
I would only change down the drain and I would make it bill who went down the drain
somebody replied to one of my comments
After the James book how about Gordon the high speed engine instead of Pip and Emma how about a A4 Pacific AKA Spencer.
Tugs character profile Frank the rail barge
For James and the diesel engines story one old Stuck Up I would have used for old stuck up Daisy and making her sayHow highly sprung She is
Or you could just paint Bowler’s model blue and maybe give him a different face.
I know the standings for James and the Diesel engine
For old stuck up class 40 for the diesel that helped James out Boco
in 2015 sam wilkinson wanted to bring fergus and boco back to cgi but it didn't happen, andrew brenner also wanted to bring boco back to cgi but mattel denied it
Bastards!
