Thank you for all the details, I’ve been studying animation on my own + your video and aiming for professional work on japan, and your video helps me a lot 🥰
Good thing this popped up on my Recommendation. I really wanted to be an animator in the future, though right now i'm still at 11th grade but i think its best to learn early than anything.
Thank you for this video, I truly was lost on what to put in my reel. Also my portfolio. I have a decent size collect of my drawings but some are ones I'm not too confident about then I have others that I smile with pride when I look at them. I know quality over quantity. Thanks again.
Excellent video, I wrote down all the information to keep in mind when I make my reel in the future. I have a doubt in the part of layouts with backgrounds, if for some reason I can't draw the backgrounds well but I can model them in 3D so that it looks consistent with the character, can I make a layout with a 3D background modeled by me and the character in 2D or does it have to be a background drawn in 2D?
I think you should work on your background drawings because not every cut need 3D background and, in order to have a position as a key animator, you have to work on every aspect of a cut : background layout drawing, character animation and effect animation, including props animation, and, of course, you have to clean up and shade your drawings. In Japan, animators have to do all the stuff that is splitted appart in western studios. If you can't draw 2 D layout, you only can expect a position as a second key animator or inbetwinner.
Lmao I really really didn't expect to hear Kamata Highway by Project Dolphin in your first animation reel! Are you a fan of Desk's combo videos by any chance?
Hi. I have been watching your videos, and they have been very helpful, because I also want to become a freelance animator, and maybe work in the Japanese animation industry. I have experience making animation by using Procreate, and 'going to try and make animation with clip studio in the future, but I just have one question, do you use the following apps.. *Adobe After effects *Premiere Pro *Photoshop I'm asking this, because these apps were recommended to me when creating future animations, and wondered if you use them. Also there are any other apps you would recommend me to use, what would it be

Where did you study animation?

Hi! I know this question is off topic, but when animating on paper, what peg bar/paper do you use?
