Just shows how much dedication alton has to find solutions for their strict tree-line regulations, and are still one of the very best theme parks in the UK
Oblivion Ride is so much more dramatic to this new coaster.... I've done most American coasters and they are all lame....... The more you see the more you expect...nothing touches nemesis
@@aarusharya5658 yes I know. The U.K. are way behind the rest of the world when it comes to theme parks but I think I can say on behalf of most enthusiasts that this is a positive step for the U.K.
kinda funny how this will be the tallest in the uk when in the usa this isn’t really THAT tall of a ride but that doesn’t change how much fun this ride will be and i hope i can ride it some day!
Just the very fact its MACK rides doing it makes me so happy 😍 Imagine something as big as the big one but as smooth as icon 🥰 With those icon restraints too! Yay🎉
Pepsi max bigone was made in 1994. It's 2024 now and hyperia is only just topping that. It should be over 300ft atleast to give us something spectacular in the UK in the time we are in today 30 years on from the big one at Blackpool
I remember when Alton Towers had a 200ft wooden coaster planned but it was ultimately scrapped due to height restrictions. Would have been cool to see that one built.
I'm working on it 😉 The model in this video is my rec that I've been working on alongside TCD, its expanded out into the entire park being built in NoLimits 2!
Talking about Alton though, they may not have the tallest coasters due to the tree line regulations but man the creativity they've used there to get such great rides in there is something to respect, shame they have that regulation, especially seeing as the park is out in the sticks anyway. Hyperia looks awsome tho
IM TERRIFIED TO RIDE HYPERIA THIS YEAR! I’ve never been Throrpe Park and I’m going with my bsf who loves all the scary rides. I’m gonna be going on all of them in the Easter holidays. Pray for me guys 🙏🏼
Dunno why it’s taken the UK so long to build high roller coasters. You’d think Alton Towers would have a ride taller than oblivion. Tall roller coasters make people see the park from a distance so it’s easier to navigate the directions to the park. Shame Hyperia couldn’t be taller than Kingda KA and have beaten the world record for tallest coaster.
it’s crazy how the uk still doesn’t have massive coasters yet even tho there is clearly a large market of people who would love it. kinda sad this is the biggest ride there
@@nico_pen yea i know. it’s just crazy to me how the uk doesn’t really have a great coaster. they are all kinda meh. nemesis is probably the best i did there and it’s not in my top 50. praying the uk gets good coasters soon
Oblivion drop is 180ft not 65ft. So not that much difference between the two actually. Also if the person who didn't make the video didn't know this, they aren't worth listening to...
Didnt you hear the big one's name change? *"The kinda big but not as big as the new one at thorpe parks new one thats stolen the title"* Bit of a mouthful 😅
yes hyperia is not super tall but it has a WAY better layout then the stratas, yukon, and half of the gigas. it will most likely be a better ride then most of those rides
Much rather ride this than Kingda Ka or Top Thrill lol. Thought it's short it looks better than any of our tallest coasters here (except maybe Fury325 or I305).
WHO HERE IS READY TO RIDE HYPERIA???? 👇
Me I can’t wait
When is it suppose to be ready?
@@yeah9479It’s opening on the 24th of may :)
oblivion actually wouldn’t look all that different in height compared to hyperia if you took the drop out of the ground
It's 180ft without the hole
Just shows how much dedication alton has to find solutions for their strict tree-line regulations, and are still one of the very best theme parks in the UK
Oblivion is only like 20feet taller than the outwards bank on hyperia so it will still lol tiny compared
If oblivion was ground level it would be almost 60ft or 1/4 shorter. Massive difference
Oblivion Ride is so much more dramatic to this new coaster.... I've done most American coasters and they are all lame....... The more you see the more you expect...nothing touches nemesis
The only reason the Alton tower rides are smaller is because they have to stay below the tree line
You're right! I only find this out recently...what a load bollocks! 😢
I heard about that rumour. Apparently it’s and eyesore to others if it’s higher than the trees 🤨😅
@@leviprentice5689 yeah even though Alton is out in the sticks and hardly anyone is around them anyway
I’m at Thorpe park rn and it is absolutely MASSIVE
It's hard to imagine how big this ride will be! I so can't wait to ride this coaster!
It’s crazy because by American standards it’s tiny. The U.K. are so far behind other countries because our government and red tape is very silly.
By American Standards 200 feet is small lmao

Too get it that high on basically a lake is a great bit of engineering mate ...wait till you see it ...nearly at the highest point
@callumgs you're correct, it is a great bit of engineering, but Millennium Force has existed since 2000, and that's on a lake and is 315 feet tall.
@Mr.Misanthrope im just sayings it's been challenging....
It's still taller than alot of American rides though, there not all massive, yes there are definetly afew that are quite abit bigger
Good to know there's a taller coaster in the UK 👍 Maybe I'll leave the USA for once ✈️

I can see me and my brother in the cart on the big one 😂❤
This ride looks insane and I can't wait to ride!
I went on it and the scariest part is the chairlift, the big drop doesn’t feel like you are dropping 200+ feet

It’s cool but I’m sad the big ones title is gone since I had great times on it
The Big One will always be far more iconic. It was the tallest on the planet for a short time after all not just the UK.
how will the lift hilll be bring you up will it be really slow or is it gonna be kinda quick lol does anyone know yet i can’t wait to go on it
That first drop is breathtaking
Looks incredible, I can't wait to ride it! :D
Are you able to do a video fitting the model into the Skyline etc? What can we expect to see… no one has done that yet, so excited to see 😅

I would've thought the smiler would be taller than oblivion
"Change the skyline forever" unless it gets knocked down 😳
How long do you think this record will last coastertog?
Many many years. I don't think any other park in the UK could top this.
Oblivion isn't tall but it's a heavy carriage so it's feels fast and into a black smokey hole
They will need to follow-up with making the others coasters
Oblivion should be counted as 180ft tall. It only has the tunnel because of the height restriction.
Oblivions drop is 180 ft
Won't this sort of render Stealth pretty obsolete?
Stealth will still have one of the fastest accelerating launches in the world
I find it funny that oblivion is faster than Rita

Shame Hyperia couldn’t be taller than Kingda KA and have beaten the world record for tallest coaster.
The thing is that Alton Towers cannot build above the treeline, that forces them to get creative with their layouts
At Alton towers the smiler is taller bc it’s 22m (72ft) high……. But if you’re counting it in drops then your right
? Hyperia is close to 240ft
@@bigdansfightreviews4182I meant it’s taller than oblivion
So when is it gonna be reedy
forgetting about the track that goes underground are we?
No smiler is actually taller than oblivion being 98 feet tall
Oblivion is visually taller and a better comparison in my opinion
I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to do hyperia lol
Now compare it to falcons flight
it’s crazy how the uk still doesn’t have massive coasters yet even tho there is clearly a large market of people who would love it. kinda sad this is the biggest ride there

Meanwhile my home parks has Orion which is 50 plus feet taller than this and 80 plus with the drop and enthusiast complain it’s not tall enough
Tbf alton towers can't really build that tall of a coaster because of the tree height limit
They can if they dig deep 👀
