Gary Cannon Because they had writers that didn't know what they were doing, lol. I'm a fan of both. DC always had better stories to tell than Marvel within their comics. Only good superheroes in Marvel is Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic 4. The rest is boring as fuck. Iron Man is boring as fuck. In the movies, he's lit. I'm not hating on both sides. I just hate how underrated DC is because of misrepresented depictions of the characters. Like Endgame was one of the most trash films I've seen. The ending battle is the only good thing about it. Marvel ain't perfect.
And the whole Martha thing ain't that deep. People don't understand the context. Bringing up Bruce’s parents triggers PTSD without context. Just listen to the Batman contingency plans for himself. When hearing the name Martha, not knowing who Superman was kinda shook him. Realising he had a mother named Martha made him realise that Super-Man wasn't a detached Alien God who wrecked a whole city. He saw a man, who had a mother. Who was more human than he was. He wanted to kill god not man. But he realised he was killing man not god. The context would’ve worked really well if Batman hadn’t kill like 6 other goons beforehand. Kind of awesome that Supes usual vulnerability to magic is probably what allowed him to shake off Trigun's hold--that unsuitability works both ways! If Trigun had taken John's offer, Constantine probably wouldn't have been able to break free--you know, unless he had something planned for that. :p
You know, the fact that later on it looks like Trigon was doing better without possessing Superman says a lot about his power
I mean...we saw Superman try to fight Trigon immediately after he first showed up on Earth. He literally could not even slow him down - he, Barry, and Diana were desperately smashing boulders into his face and punching him at considerable fractions of C and he just ignored them entirely while walking forward at a constant speed.

He has gotten so used to treating the world like its made of glass, that its difficult for him to let loose. Trigon does not have those mental limits. When Trigon/Superman punches Darkseid, that's literally just Supermans physical strength. When Trigon/Superman uses his eye beams, sure its 4 beams because Trigon's posession, but they're just Supermans lasers x4 at their full potential.
Only after he's freed from Superman, and able to utilize his complete and total power, does Trigon begin to totally and utterly dominate with zero issue. He is an unstoppable demon god, and fufills that niche very well. Even other godly pantheons in the DC universe fear Trigon, and this is why.

TBH marvel and DC are more or less just a bunch of differently colored rock-paper-scissors options.

Seeing dark seid get defeated is so satisfying especially after what he did to the justice league
I disagree, because it wasn't NEARLY enough. The whole movie was gore for shock value and body horror. We saw the sickest shit happen to the heroes for years. Darkseid gets punched a few times. We should've gotten to see Darkseid trapped with Trigon for eternity, and Trigon only able to assuage his boredom by torturing Darkseid. Darkseid should've been begging for the mercy of a death he'll never be granted. Then it'd be satisfying. The little bitch only got a tiny fraction of a fraction of what he had coming to him. They didn't pull any punches when it came to the heroes' fates, so I was pretty pissed Darkseid only got a beating fit for a Saturday morning kids cartoon.
For sure Darkseid got bodied but Im not sure he was defeated. Trigon toyed with him but what I read from the movie was that he's locked in combat with a superior force for the rest of his life.

To many forms and he probably was just learning about who Trigon really is. He also probably knew superman would rebuke and Trigon would cleanse his host anyway so he can fight him clean 1 on 1. DarkSeid is omni, so he is probably light years ahead in planning. Sitting there worked out for him in the end of that Trigon encounter.

Technically, Trigon isn't exactly a God. Rather, he is an interdimensional demonic entity that is definitely a God-Level character. I think the DCAMU has amped his power a little though.

IIRC, the DC heroes have never actually engaged Trigon directly as it's made clear they'd stand no chance. He was always just this looming threat that had to be kept at bay.

Justice League vs. Teen Titans showed them trying to fight Trigon. Their strongest stuff just barely kind of annoyed him, like moving his head to the side a bit. They had no real effect at all. Trigon is just BEYOND them. And Jobberseid regularly gets his ass beat by Superman one on one. Trigon vs. Jobberseid is like a t. rex vs. a mouse.

Hell, the only way Raven is able to keep him at bay is because she’s his daughter. Their shared blood lets him use her as a doorway, and it gives him a lot of power over her, but that’s a two way street.

I love when trigon gets his recognition he deserves. Wait til they see Superboy-Prime. He's all that and more. He's SILVER AGE power level. Remember when Superman destroyed a star system with a sneeze, or pulled an entire galaxy at once? That's Prime's power level. He's immune to kryptonite AND magic, and while red sunlight works, you need to get him physically INSIDE an actual red star to depower him. None of these "red solar lamps" shit that works on modern Supes. You can try to beat him physically, but good luck, the dude took a big bang to the face and all it did was knock him out for a bit. Like, literally the big bang. The universe it happened in was destroyed by the attack. Oh, and best of all, he's completely, murderously insane.
