Hello, thanks in advance, all the videos are instructive, especially about Orthodox iconography. I had a question, I think it would be good if you could also make a video on the iconography of Oriental churches. For example, the iconography of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church
Icons are not worshiped that is what the commandment was about. I see kissing an icon of Jesus or Mary as no different than someone who keeps a picture of their grandmother and kissing it good-night. It's just a way to honor the person.
There are orthodox icons that depict the father though. I went to church of the holy trinity in my city here (Edmonton alberta) and they have an icon of the trinity including God the father.
I have visited Orthodox Churches. I didn't kiss or bow before icons. I haven't heard any complaints. Everyone there had a different level of veneration and nor Everyone venerated all or the same icons. I think people choose to do it once they choose to become or convert to Orthodox. I was at a Serbian Orthodox Church. Hope that helps

I have been invited to join (long story) and I said I heard about them rebaptizing people and I won't accept that as my baptism was valid trinitarian in a Lutheran Church. They seem to accept that as a valid baptism although some Orthodox wouldn't.
@benwinter1527 the orthodox would most likely chrismate people who had been baptized in the name of the trinity. Rather than rebaptism. Because they respect the trinity baptism from other churches from what I heard. But I'm also not orthodox so probably best to talk to someone of authority on the issue
@pigetstuck I saw an orthodox Christian video the other day and they said in that video that the orthodox church members venerate the icons as far as they are comfortable. Basically, as long as the member isn't iconoclast and respects the icons and doesn't talk against them, that may be acceptable at least according to that video.....but this may vary from church to church. I had been wondering about this very issue myself and so that video really surprised me because the people talking in it were of authority in the orthodox church.
So today, I saw many people getting enraged that someone would depict an icon in anime form. If they were created for people who don’t know the gospel, why are people so offended when people create them in the medium a large number of people enjoy?

Not all Protestants reject icons. The original Protestants, the Lutherans, use crosses, crucifixes and icons, as well as altar pictures in the Church.
