I just want to thank you for doing what you do. I have been changing my old natural hair habits and following the hair science you’ve been sharing for years now. The issue isnt a wash and go or having natural hair. The issue is keepingyour hair wet for too long. You can do wash and gos and have healthy hair.

I’ve been doing this for over 10 years with over 45k clients. Hair weathering takes 6 weeks to 25 years to show up and it always shows up I treat it daily. Long term the effects are not good regardless of your opinion. Long hair does not equal healthy hair and wash n goes cause long term hair-shaft disorders. Thanks for watching.

I’m obsessed with your videos!! I became a straight natural 2 years ago and I have retained far more length that I ever did when I only wore twist outs and straightened every 6 months due to fear of “heat damage” I straighten on a biweekly basis and trim every 10-12 weeks. My hair looks and feels so much healthier. You’ve taught me that #TeamNatural sadly isn’t really based in science and facts. My whole regimen has since changed for the better!

@@IamCynDollI want to do what the lady above is doing! I’m tired of thin , uneven hair. My problem is that when I blow it out or blow out then flat iron it looks very thin and poofy, frizzy. I wish I could show you a picture. I’m 12 years natural and mostly 2 strand twisted, braid outs and avoided blow drying and definitely flat ironing in fear of heat damage. Now I’m thinking that maybe it’s my hair that’s damaged. Or is it from dryness??

I suspected that putting all that product on your hair was damaging, but didn’t know the scientific reason why it was damaging. I never attempted do one because my fine hair gets dirty and greasy easily and I would need to wash my hair daily, not to mention it takes as long to do a wash and go as to shampoo, blow dry and style my hair. This was very informative and educational. I have a thyroid condition and my hair would grow slow and become very dehydrated. Like so many natural women I too use water to detangle, but I also use a leave in conditioner. In order for my hair to grow and thrive I had to switch to high end products that help hydrate and moisture my hair. I will say I still use water to comb out my hair but not nearly as much and I have noticed that it doesn't break as much. Thanks so much for the information.

It didn’t show up right away but now my hair looks a mess. I should have stuck to blow drying and styling my hair like before 🤦🏾‍♀️. I knew better but I got caught up! I got bored with my hair and wanted something new and now I feel like a dummy. • @IamCynDoll

Use a non comedogenic oil. Oil is the ingredient that gives products slip including conditioner.
Use hempseed or almond oil to detangle and don’t let your hair get tangled in the first place. Tangled hair shouldn’t be a regular thing. Your doing something wrong.

I love the cut and it came out so beautifully but I definitely detangle with conditioner and I find it gentle on my hair and less hair loss. And sometimes I do wash and go but with very little product because I like my natural curls. I get what you’re saying but I think people need to find what’s best for your hair. Everyone has different hair types and different issues. I also use a coconut base oil with tea tree oil and vitamin e oil that I make on my scalp and it really did help my scalp and thicken my hair. But I only massage a small amount in my scalp once every week. But that works for me. Not trying to debate just my opinion ❤

hello cyn ! so i have some questions. i'm pretty new to your content, so some of these questions you might have answered in a video ages ago. please be patient with me. 🙏
    1) you're opposed to wash-n-gos, twist outs (and by extension braid outs). there are a million and one natural hairstyles but i must ask: do you recommend wearing natural hair in its natural state at all ? you seemed to primarily do silk presses both on yourself and your clients from what i can see. are there any natural styles that you support? ex: braids/twists with or without added hair, locs(manicured or freeform).
    2) you said that the hydrogen bonds break while the hair is wet. do they then reform once the hair dries, or is there a specific process that has to be undertaken to restore them?
    3) in all of the videos i've seen, you blow hair out with a round brush that appears to have boar bristles. why was that your tool of choice as opposed to a paddle brush, a comb attachment, or the revair reverse blowout machine?
    4) do you believe there is a difference between damage to the salt bond and heat damage in natural hair?
    5) what is your process of heat-training hair?
    6) 7:25 this portion of the video genuinely confused me. should healthy hair not have a curl pattern ?
    7) how often do you think hair should be thoroughly wet down and cleansed with shampoo or any cleansing agent?
    8) final question ! does hygral fatigue purely consist of the hair being overtired by water? in august, i noticed a loss of elasticity that i was able to correct immediately with the aphogee two-step protein treatment. after some process of elimination, i determined the most likely culprit was misting my hair with water every day and not letting it fully dry. however, some of my friends with natural hair have seen similar problems when overdoing it with moisturisers(deep conditioning all night, completely neglecting protein in their diets as well as in their haircare, etc). can hygral fatigue also happen by simply not having enough protein, or is that a different problem that just happens to manifest in a similar way?
thank you so much for reading all of these ! it's a lot to type out a response to all of these questions, so if you decide to answer them, feel free to make a video. peace and all good 🙏

I have a question? Is this something that tends to affect black women more depending on the texture of their hair. I’m asking because their are a lot of f people in my family that have silky shiny curly and wavy hair and all they do is wash apply a little leave in (been doing this since before they were called leave ins) and a little oil and just leave it out to dry or braid it up in a few braids till dry. Their hair is long and amazing. Doesn’t this go against the science that you are talking about. I am almost 60 and spraying my out hair with a mist of water before brushing it into a braid or two.

I recently learned about how using too much product can suffocate the hair and have seen a dramatic difference in my hair being more moisturized since I stopped layering on products like no tomorrow 😂😂
But if you're against twist out or wash n goes? What would you have us curly girls do? I'm confused is there a video of hairstyle preferences?

I'm scared to detangle my hair without using water. I usually just put water on it to get the comb through it. What can I use on it instead?

@rachelm.3173 I agree😊...Because I am almost 60yrs old & have family members who have healthy long hair for yrs and wear nothing but wash & go's, twist outs & braid outs , a straight natural and a cousin who somehow has a relaxer with her hair down her back🤷🏽‍♀️....So with all these professionals out here telling us do this or that comes down to " do what works for YOU "...

Think about Anthony Dickey's method...He's STILL doing hair and been doing hair for well over 30yrs...Some of his clients wear nothing but wash & go's and have a head full of healthy, thick long hair...I'm sure Cyn had women who had healthy hair...I could list a host of professionals here on TH-cam like MO Knows hair, she wears wash & gos ( have you seen her beautiful head of hair)...Let's just learn OUR hair and take CARE of it😊

My hair not frizzy ...I only manipulate my hair on wash day. I noticed I lose less hair if detangle underwater running water. Keeping my strans in tha same direction. I don't force detangling I leave that for the deep conditioning to soften up. One thing I do before wash oil 🛢 its a it mixed with many things I use it seveves as a pre poo for 20 min + to help with hygral fatigue and growth. I dry come i would take me 6 hours and a lot of hair. My hair dont break and its not frizzy. People sear it's its fake asking questions is glued ,who put in where I buy it. I am a fantastic when it comes to my hair i take 4 pills a day to make sure I have quality strans.

Hair weathering takes 6 weeks to 25 years to show up. I’ve been treating the disorder for over a decade. I’ve heard this explanation from women who think like you more times than I can count. They don’t listen and then years later they are my clients as I’m nursing their hair back to health.
Your playing in your hair and that’s cool do what you want. You were warned.
