Lynn thank you for this interview. We needed a panel With Chris so that people going through this can ask him specific questions, Ogot,Larry kagambi who have all recovered can help alot of people.I know rehabilitation is a stop gap measure, but family, friends ,employers need to be equipped on how to walk with there loved once who are recovering. God bless you Chris you are a champion in many ways .Cate his sister has played a big part in his life. We need to hear from her ,looking into the journey of her brothers alcoholism .Alcoholism kill more people each year than ,cancer accidents combined ,it's a silent killer, Lynn Matt 18:12
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?

My uncle who’s the brightest among my mother’s brothers has the exact life. Always getting jobs in the media industry in Marsabit county. The minute he gets paid he disappears. Even the church in Chalbi are always supportive of him. The sad bit is we grew up with him staying with us in south b doing Mass Communication. He was our tutor. He inspired us so much. Now he’s past 50, we’ve kind of accepted him the way he is 😪 alcoholism up close is heartbreaking

I have always wondered. What is the role of the breweries, distilleries in rehabilitating the people who have been damaged by their products. Are there rehabs run or managed or financed by alcohol companies or their role ends when one buys a beer🍺? Alcohol Rehab should be free. Parents or families shouldn't be struggling to treat their sons and daughters while gov't enjoyed the taxes, and company shareholders enjoyed dividends at the cost of loss of lives.

Talking to most guys, i feel like there's so much we're bottling up as individuals and families.. let's learn to open up more and more and share however difficult it might be. Nothing inspires me like listening to someone who's going through what i did and seeing them start making those small steps towards the light. this was an eye-opening experience. I saw my very brightest uncle who did Aeronautical Engineering get destroyed by alcohol, if you met him today you wouldn't tell he got a scholarship early 90s to go to France to study that course. Sometimes he comes to visit us at home the only thing that differentiates him with the other alcoholics from my village is his English when he speaks ..I will watch this with him I hope he can get inspired too. We have a drinking problem as a society. I see young people glorify the drinking culture, they have no idea what awaits them at the end of the road. Personally I cannot sell alcohol to make a living. I am not judging anyone. My family has suffered in the hands of alcohol, it's really poison.

What do.you.mean? Making a true judgment is right..alcohol is wrong..no.matter.what..alcohol intake opens demonic/evil doors..its just wrong..and it's a matter of time it catches up with someone..:(.I don't like to.mess with it at all.

To see a man cry eish!! This man went through a lot. God you’re so good, Indeed your time is the best. It may seem like forever, but God’s time is the best. May God come through for anyone going through any kind of addiction, it is not easy. As a society, let’s help such people than judge them and treat them bad.

In this show we cry, we scream, we laugh but still feel safe. No apology for crying. That is one powerful statement. Thank you Chris for crying, for many do not allow ourselves to cry. We as society need to celebrate one step foward, and forget the 2 backwards. Reminds me of Grace that gives us what we do not deserve, but are still worthy. Im so blessed with this show. We say Kudos to Lynn, your amazing team and Chris and your family. I want to meet Jamo and your sister. They were your rock which we all need in life. Asante sana Lynn..God bless. Addiction of any kind is a disease and we should embrace, help and encourage the addicts. It's not an easy task to watch your loved one wither away from substance abuse. Let's normalize speaking up and acknowledging addiction affecting our families. How Chris I'm proud of you for turning your life and fighting against all the odds and urges . Glory to God. Wish you the best Chris. A really inspiring story. I had a very sharp brother who got into alcoholism just after finishing form 4 waiting to join campus. He got into those dens and his life wasn't the same again. My parents did everything they could( from police to the chief and wazees) to bring him back home and to his family, but he would still go back. Finally after many years, my bro came back home sick, was taken to hospital and he died days after. We miss him dearly. Francis continue resting in peace.

Chris and L thank you both for this show, it is not just emotional but also very educative. Chris is extremely smart, I'm glad we're all tapping into his sober brain now, thank you for sharing with us your journey with alcoholism. I would like to add that alcoholics/alcoholism is a continuum, whoever consumes it is at one point of the continuum - so, let's not judge those who we think are on the extreme right end.

In Central Kenya we're losing a generation to alcohol. In coastal towns, all manner of drugs. In Lamu, I estimate ~ 60% of the young men are zombies. Mhenga mmoja almaarufu _Richie Spice_ aliuliza "Who's gonna ease the pain?"
I'm now seeing a trend in major Kenyan towns/cities where alcohol is brought closer to the people -- alcohol-only mini kiosks within residential estates, sort of like the liquor stores in US ghettos. I've not against moderate drinking, but I feel that we celebrate alcohol a bit too much in Kenya
