Heard a music guy today who'd worked with Solomon Burke. As a producer, he wished to autotune Burke's voice. The Bishop put him right "If it's perfect, it ain't Rreaalll !!"
Or back off the "Hurt" cover despite mad label pressure, or shut up about the horrific treatment of American Indians, especially ones that served in the military and specifically the one that jacked the flag in Okinawa in one of the most iconic images of US mythology ever and despite the very racist country music establishment damn near blackballing him over it which only made him more dedicated to shining a light on it so he started taking out full page ads in papers to bring awareness to it, or his opposition to the Vietnam War though he felt for all the drafted soldiers so he and June went and played for em despite his opposition and refused a lot of the perks offered since he chose to be there but the soldiers didn't and the guerillas didn't choose to fight so he and June shared a bed that was rocked by shelling day and night, the list goes on. He's one of the few famous people that gets better the more ya learn, usually it's the other way around.
