Thanks for another helpful and great review. As a ZWO Seestar owner (I also have DSO and planetary rigs), I must admit that I think the Vespera’s M42 captures look better than the Seestar’s, pre-and post-processing. It’s just a question of whether they are that much better than the Seestar to drop 1,000 more euros on the Vespera, without the extra filters too, for an EAA outfit. That said, the Vespera looks very sharp and seems to perform well. Thanks again!
Excellent review and very informative. I’ve had the vespers for a few months and for example had no idea about the function to click on constellation in the app and see all objects within that area. Awesome. Thanks 🙏
These telescopes they have their place. People with limited mobility issues or physical handicaps, young kids even, would likely find these things life changing. Excellent video sir, thank you.
@@jackchesnut1956 Me 2 Chestnut...Love it, and it is enjoyable watching The Vespera doing its thing, but my images are not anything like above, but I am new to the Vespera, and I have given the Tube Limited time, such as less than 2 hours...and my skies in Florida are not good this time of year and during the Summer...Cheers Automation
I have owned a vespera since 2022 and i love it. The big advantage being if you only have an hour of predicted clear sky i just set it out and level it. 2 minutes tops. if there is clear sky predicted for longer i will drag out something larger but i always setup Vespera and shoot other wideangle targets. I have 5 other telescopes that i still use but in Upstate NY in Winter that vespera is sitting outside, not me!😃
Another really useful and detailed video. It gave a great insight to the capabilities and option for editing by more advanced users. Many thanks Wido. THU
Wido, excellent video. I see the new pro model is advertising a 12.5 Mp camera and 16 bit raw capabilities. Can you explain how this would affect real world performance?
Tx! The imaging scale is about 2x better with the pro, so you'll end up with higher resolution pictures. And the size of the sd card is 225 GB vs 11GB.
Hello my friend Im new to your channel and I want to know what is your option of using the mosaic mode vs the standard just point and shoot mode with the Vespera? I find sometimes I get better pictures on mosaic and sometimes I get better on just point and shoot on standard. Im looking at the heart nebula as I type this and its a 120 min exposure time and at 27 mins it doesnt look much like anything what do you suggest?
I just now saw a newer model Vespera 2 made available on Vaonis website. Curious to know how much the end results going to be superior than the original vespera. That being said, newer version means a much needed price drop is coming to the original. Cheers and clear skies.
So you touched on Raw images, but are raw images saved on the phone or on the Vespera? I'm asking for a friend who has the Vespera and asked me abou this last night.
Nice review and tutorial. I have two questions. The first is since the Vespar can connect up to 10 devices. What is the process for others to connect to the Vespera so they can view. Second question is regarding the solar eclipse. While you need a solar filter for viewing and imaging of the sun during totality, you need to remove the solar filter to view the corona. My understanding is that removing the solar filter will disable the solar mode on the Vespera. How do you work around this?
Tx. You can connect to the vespera wifi signal, and there's a control button in the signularity app where you can decide who controls the telescope. As for the solar mode, i only tried it with the solar filter installed.
hmmm, never thought about that. It would take quite some work as the sensor size is still relatively small. I guess you can use mosaic mode - image the milkyway across multiple nights, and then use mosaic software like image composite editor to stitch the pictures together. You'd need to spend many nights to get it all, but it is not impossible. Cheers!
Just bought a vespera, haven’t taken it out yet. Bought the light pollution filter and dual band filter and hygrometer too. Can’t wait to get it outside! A lot of crappy bad weather lately here in south burbs of Chicago.
Cool. Yea, december and january are the worst. Check out your local cloud radar. Tip: If you have an hour or two, aim it at m42 with the hygro + dualband filter installed. Have fun!
I was thinking the same, but the internal processing of the Vespera looks far superior to the S50.. the end results seen here speak for themselves. But this scope is nearly 3 times the price!
Haha! Ideaal Wido. Maar tegen dan staat er hier al 1 van de 2... 😁 Maar kijk er wel naar uit. Denk dat het toch de seestar s50 gaat worden met iets meer ruis dan.

I'm an experienced Astronomer with no mobility issues and this product was a game changer for me.

Looking good, but the Seestar is stiil a bargain if you’re satisfied with some lesser specs.

Great video, thanks for sharing. When will you have a video on the Vesper Pro?
The pro is available as pre-order. First ones will be shipped in May. I'll ask Vaonis 😉.

Does it not come with manual mode, only predefined celestial objects?

As always, a very informative review Wido!

Can you make a mosaic of the Milky Way with this telescope. Maybe a big one (in memory size). Just curious,

Do you need wifi wifi? Or can it be just used with a smart phone?
No network needed. The WiFi signal is generated by the telescope. You can setup and control the telescope wirelessly.
@@AstroForumSpace thank you
Excellent review, and 1500 for the entire scope sounds fair.
But half that for 3 filters? Nah...
You are getting all the latest toys! Cool! 😊

@@AstroForumSpacemosaic mode for m42?
Is this a new scope as I seem to be seeing a lot of used/secondhand ones?
New, Vaonis graciously loaned me one for this review.
how does the SeeStar S50 compare with the Vespera ?
I was thinking the same, but the internal processing of the Vespera looks far superior to the S50.. the end results seen here speak for themselves. But this scope is nearly 3 times the price!
Next Year comes the new Vespera Pro which is better than Stellina and the vespera
This telescope for 1500 euros or the seestar s50 for 700 euros. Help! They are both comparable in quality, but twice as expensive for the vespera...
I'm actually recording a video to compare the Vespera II with the Seestar S50, I'll probably upload that within a week or two :-).
Haha! Ideaal Wido. Maar tegen dan staat er hier al 1 van de 2... 😁 Maar kijk er wel naar uit. Denk dat het toch de seestar s50 gaat worden met iets meer ruis dan.
Is that real and that easy to use?
Yep, real...and easy to use
Thanks Wido.
