Throughout the entire project the only solvent I used was Simple Green 19005 Crystal Industrial Cleaner/Degreaser. This is not your ordinary Simple Green. It works great and is safe with this aluminum. Many aircraft mechanics use this. Other than this I used brake clean and WD-40 here. In my video for cleaning valves I used my own mixture which is very powerful and cuts the carbon easily. In that video I give all the details. Here’s a link to the Simple Green 19005 Crystal Industrial Cleaner/Degreaser: amzn.to/3SlqETW
@@TonyLiveTV thanks a lot! I will clean my idle control valve this weekend so this info is great . How long did you leave it soaking in the solvent ? Thanks a lot
@@EmilianoCaballeroFraccaroli I think I soaked it about three hours. Remember to not submerge it. You only submerge the bottom valve. You don’t want solvent in the electronics on top. I put mine in a jar and it worked great. If you have an ultrasonic you can put the jar in there. Good luck.
dumb question but if I don't have that power source, can I just use a car battery to test it since it's also 12 volt?
I know plenty of people have done it with a battery and haven't harmed anything. A battery charger will also work.
What solvents did you use?
