    I know you did this six years ago but man, it's a life saver for me today in May 2023
    Were in route from Idaho to Syracuse NY I'm our 1996 Fleetwood Bounder 34j on the Ford F53 with the 460. We have the identical power gear 3 hydraulic leg system and today on and off for 330 miles we listened to the bah bah bah bah bah mile after mile knowing our gear was up and good. I looked all over for the darn dipstick that it's in the manual and darn if I could find it. Until I found your six year old video. Thanks so much, I may not make my own funnel but tomorrow I'll lay down under that front fender and give it a whirl and hope to end 1500 more miles of bah bah bah bah, I'd thought I'd lose my mind or start to drink heavily! Thanks!

    I really enjoyed your video. I think this is what a video should be. Show us the struggle and the "adjustments" needed to get the job done. I personally love to see what is really required to get the job done. I just bought a used Bounder today, but the levelers won't fully retract. I'll start by checking the oil. Life saver bro. Subscribed and liked. Who knew this video would still be useful in 2024!

    I use a 2' piece of clear pvc hose, 5/16", drill a smaller hole 19/64" into the cap of the transmission fluid bottle, put the hose through the tight hole, all the way to the bottom of the bottle, now just squeeze the bottle and fluid comes out the hose, remove the hose to let air back into the bottle. Cleaner than using a funnel.

    Actually no matter how tight you get the plastic plug (cap) on the tank, it is designed to blow by the cap if it's filled too much. Take a look at the bottom of the cap at the end of the threads. There is a relief area for the tank out of the bottom of cap. I don't think using a wrench to tighten the cap will help much, might break it off in the threads of the tank. Look at the type of cap it is, not made for a wrench, made for hand tightening only. Anything with high pressure like the hydraulics of the levelers will have some sort of pressure relief for expansion and heat etc.... The power Gear leveler system cap is the way the system relieves extra pressure or fluid. Hope this helps.....Thanks, KG

    Yah! AutoZone tried telling me the same on a ac pump. They only knew I was needing it for my motorhome. The manager to the girl I was explaining to said I would have to get and make brackets for a generic set up that would work for a hot rod. I didn't say to her she was just trying to learn, but I turned to the manager ask him why no one ask Chevy or Ford that would be the correct question to of asked me before you shared your non understanding how motor home are build on. Mine happens to be a 1994 Chevy. That would have sounded better understanding of how most automotive stuff is made, thank you. Well I went home and ordered what .I needed on Amizon. I got all I needed the next day! It was a learning for me and for him. I hoped he would communicate better with customers! He kept insisting he was right! He was maybe 18. Not sure ! I'm not sure but I think he was trying to impress her with his knowledge.

      You caught that landing gear reference huh..lol , most auto part stores are ok , but every once in a while you just get that one employee that takes the cake , It would be nice to walk into a auto parts store and ask an employee a simple question an have a correct answer, for instance ask the employee for headlight bulbs to confirm the style your vehicle takes like is it an 1157 style or a h11 , and the response is what motor do you have as that makes all the difference , I had asked for a manual fuel pump for a 68 chevelle with a small block chevrolet 350 , now because that wasn't a engine option for said vehicle they had no clue because the computer do not have a option they didn't know what to do , so I said look it up under 78 camaro knowing it was offered with a 350 , they proceeded to try an give me a drop in fuel pump.. I said that's not it I explained myself one again that I needed a old mechanical pump he said that's not what the computer calls for I tried to tell him well it's wrong for that year of car too.. I got sick of going telling him what I wanted an just got two Mr gasket electric fuel pumps to get me on my way , as the didn't have any good high volume pumps ..

    The pump is not made by Ford or Chevy . The type of fluid is out lined in the owners manual of the system you have . Bye the way you knocked off the brown wire when you were filling the tank . Take care with this system . Parts are impossible to find and many have been discontinued . A new system will cost about $2000. The fuses in the control are hard wired into the circuit board if you pop a fuse in the control its done . $$$$$.

    • @RollinwiththeBolens

      It could be low on fluid.. or could be a loss of power to the jacks.. or one of the relays on the pu.p itself..I would start with fluid level first then on to relays.. your fuse shouldn't be bad if your front jack is working! Hope this helps

    • @richardalty9931

It has been "reset" twice and the constant beeping stopped, but then we turn on the RV and drive and as soon as you hit the brakes, it starts beeping again. Then when we get to our site, the level jacks wont even come down and everything flashes on the leveling digital dash board area. We thought it was the RV batteries bc we found out they were not strong enough for our RV, but we replaced those and also replaced the Fuse that goes to the level system and it still doesnt work. Now we are thinking it needs a new mother board??? But idk if we have tried this option in your video or not... or if this video will even apply to a 2006... Help?

    We have a 2003 Tiffin Allegro with HWH hydraulic jacks and manual only controller. We have installed 2 new jacks (we have 4) and all the springs. The right rear jack will not retract. I watched a video that said loosen the hydraulic line to the jack. If it retracts, it is not the jack, check your hoses? I loosened the line, nothing happened, I took the line connection all the way off and the jack slammed to the top and the line squirted oil all over me. lucky I didn't have hold of the jack or I'd be missing a hand! So now what? It seems if the jack won't retract but does when I remove the line, there was still pressure keeping it extended. It has to be the hose or the solenoid? how do I check for this?

      I would say my money is on a collapsed line.. look for one that's smashed or pinched, check for lose wires to the solenoid, to check the solenoid listen for a “click” noise. If the click is strong and loud, it most likely means the solenoid has enough power and is working properly. If the clicking you are hearing is quiet or repetitive, it may be that your solenoid is not strong enough or does not have enough power from the battery!
      Hope this helps

    • @RollinwiththeBolens
      @RollinwiththeBolens  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yours may be in one of your under belly storage.. you may need to follow your hydraulic lines from your jack back to your tank.. I wish I could be of more help on yours but I've never worked or looked for any components on your year of bounder.. when you find it your welcome to post it on here in the comments for others to use as a reference

      I have a 99 Bounder, mine is in the compartment with the house batteries.

    • @richardalty9931
      @richardalty9931 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      On my 1998 Fleetwood bounder it's *behind* the house batteries.
      The batteries are in the first basement compartment behind the drivers seat - the one that does not come out with the slider. Behind the batteries is a plate about 12" square held on by four sheet metal screws. There is a label on it that talks about the emergency slide-out closing mechanism, but doesn't mention the levelers.
      Remove all four screws to remove the plate.
      *****WARNING..... WARNING...… WARNING !!!!! *****
      The plate is right above the battery posts. Do NOT let it drop onto the batteries and short them out!
      Once the plate is removed, the tank will be right in front of you. Even with a skinny funnel its almost impossible to pour into. Use either a transfer pump or the previously mentioned turkey baster.

    • @RollinwiththeBolens
      @RollinwiththeBolens  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume you mean the house water pump , it is located on the drivers side of your coach just behind your rear wheel in your luggage bay.. open your luggage bay door look to the left in that small hole it's in there your hot water tank bypass is also located in there.. so under your bathroom area if your outside looking at it.. I would take a picture an send.. but we no longer own the bounder.. good luck
