- The BJP's defeat in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad, despite the construction of the Ram Mandir, has surprised many. The anticipated electoral advantage from the temple's construction did not materialize for the BJP. BJP’s two-term MP, Lallu Singh, was defeated by the Samajwadi Party’s Awadhesh Prasad, who secured 54,567 more votes. In the 2024 election, the BJP's seat count in the state fell from 62 in 2019 to 35, while the INDIA alliance won 44 seats. Watch!
