  • For our 75th Tune of the Day, which happened during Lark Camp, I picked a really beautiful, haunting jig from the playing of New Brunswick Acadian fiddler Robert Lavoie. Robert has so many wonderful tunes from the Acadian Peninsula in NE New Brunswick, often from family members, and this one I thought was just gorgeous. It's a G minor jig, I think with a name meaning "Mom's Sad Jig", is that right Robert? I think I messed up the parts, so the high part should be the A part? Oops!
Robin LeBlanc recorded this on his debut album and I hope lots of other folks learn it as well. Here's Robin's version, which is probably more accurate:

A fine tune and a fine job of playing it!
