In Galar there is such a thing as a minor division of gym leaders. Avery/Klara say that their gym is still a part of it. I like to think that these missing gym leader types are just in the minor division during the year that Sword and Shield take place so that’s why we don’t see them or get to challenge them
Indeed, the existence of uniforms for every type implies that gym leaders for every type always exist in Galar and Klara and Avery's examples confirm that minor division gym leaders have their own gyms, they just don't have landmark stadiums and don't play a role in the Gym Challenge (only the major division, i.e. the top 8 leaders, get that honor). One wonders then what purpose the minor division gyms serve other than being part of the competitions to determine the top 8 gyms, but my impression is their main purpose is simply to be a place for trainers who want to specialize in a given pokemon type to congregate and receive instruction. This would hold true for Galar gyms in general too, since the gym challenge is only once a year and probably doesn't take more than two months, if that, but the gyms are open and performing their other purposes all year.
@@Ryodraco its most likely based on soccer since kabu was once relegated to the minor division before climbing back up. More than likely the other type gym leaders compete for some open spots and stadiums gets changed when a new type comes in.

I just love the fact that the gyms required for the champion battle aren't just arbitrarily chosen. Instead they have to earn the spot amongst their peers. So while the gym leaders are the best of the best, the top 8 are the cream of this elite crop. The tournament also settles the strength of the gym leader because their placing will show who is the strongest and who is the weakest. Even then that's not set in stone as the leaders are always training their teams to move up. It's unique and ensure that the leaders stay strong and a proper challenge.
Y'all know that in the championship rematches, you can fight Gym challengers that specialize in a single type already, including the missing types? No? Only me? Ok

What’s weird is that Kingler has a G-Max form which is also unused, and has a water type G-max move. Edit: Forgot the flying type and added Kingler.
I’ve really enjoyed this series and I do wish Gamefreak would make a game where you have to fight more than 8 gym leaders before you can fight the league
What about the other trainers that show up in the Champion Cup and the rematches? There's one for each type (I think). I sorta saw these guys as the competition to the current gym leaders, as they all have mono-type teams.
Hey, man. Just wanted to say, this series was awesome. Now i have a small challenge. What if YOU made a Gym Challenge? Not in a specific region, nor based on any. Just your ideas for a Gym Challenge. (You could do an Elite Four and Champion as well, but that's up to you.) With how well you did this series, i bet this would make for a fantastic video.
How does the first gym leader get orbeetle which evolves at level 30 also it’s a rule that the pokemons signiture g max move has to match the specialists type which mean she should get buterfree
What a coincidence, my own fakemon region also has a Flying-type Gym Leader named Avi, who is also similarly competitive-minded. He's got a different design of course, but pretty cool I guess
I like the teams but a few changes I think might be fitting... Bug: I'd say having it at Ballonlea instead would be really cool, since I feel like putting bugs there isn't much of a stretch and having an Orbeetle around that level is a bit better, power wise. I'd also make the TM be U-Turn. Flying: I feel like putting him at Hulbury would work well with it being a port town. His ace could be Cramorant at first but then become Corviknight on rematches (my thought being Corviknight might be a bit overkill for the 2nd/third gym). Either way, with you saying he calculates move trajectories and the like, I think Aerial Ace is the better TM choice here. Normal and Electric: I really like them and would only say the TMs should probably be Retaliate and Thunder Wave instead.
@@chrisdiaz3024 Yeah, but we’re only like 7 level difference, now we’re talking about 11 levels and the gap looks even bigger since they are medium levels
I was half expecting Guzma to show up in this game given he is legally not allow to be a Kahuna or trail captain anymore so after his training he goes to another region to start over. Be a side Bug Gym leader
hope in future games there will be a rating system instead of the Gym Leaderboard, like in the Pokemon Journey. Thanks to the rating, the player will make sense to defeat the coaches he meets, because in order to fight the champion in the first place, you need to reach at least 8 rating and take part in the tournament, and the "gym leaders" will be at the end of each hundred, for example: milo-900, nessa 800, kabu-700, etc.
I thought of something rather interesting for the Gym Leaders of a future generation. Instead of specializing in types, they use a theme. One would specialize in serpentine Pokémon, similar to Pike Queen Lucy. One would use the Pseudo-Legendaries. One would specialize in Fossils and other dino-esque ones, such as Lapras and Tropius. One could use the Eevee-lutions. What do you think? It'd make an interesting challenge.
So, I find it unlikely, but my mind cannot keep from making a twin peaks reference after he named the normal leader Nadine and her “underestimated strength”
I don’t like the bug one I think it should butterfree as the ace. It evolves very earlier then orbeetle does also butterfrees g max move is a bug type and orbeetle is phsycic
When they said that gym leaders in the gym challenge rotate in the galar region, i thought they were gonna update the game regularly and with each update there would be at least one gym with a different typing, like the 1st gym being a normal typing instead of grass or the 4th gym now being a steel type. That would've been cool. Wasted potential once again.
I love the ideas although I see peonia as being the new electric gym leader with a female gmax Pikachu because of her earrings and it would be cool if her mom was the last electric gym leader but died now so both parents were gym leaders and Hyde I see being the new steel gym leader because he loves machines and could get a gmax copperaj from peony since the they didn't have a unused steel gmax pokemon like they do for all the other types.
Yeah, that's kind of the point; Gym Leaders are notorious for using Pokemon that shouldn't be possible. Plus I'm not sure the G-Max move is the main focus, but if that's the case just don't have it know that one and focus on Bug moves instead...
Sure, I guess... But then where are they? Every region from Gen 1 on has had some extra towns, and we saw Wedgehurst and even Freezington in the DLC so wouldn't other towns be visible?
@@emperorcubone They were all consumed by the Wild Area. Gamefreak had to make some room for it somewhere (The Wild Area is one of the main reasons Galar feels empty in comparison to other region).

The rest of the team could be the same except youd add an Arctozolt. Maybe Morpeko but thats already Marnies pokemon and maybe a tad weak for the 8th gym.
I feel like orbeetle is to strong to be a pokemon for the first gym battle. it would probably have to be a biplug or dotler instead, as it would be an orbeetle in the championships

This was a wonderful series
So, if you look at the G-Max moves, you can tell which mon would be the ace for each gym;
Bug: Butterfree (G-Max Befuddle)
Flying: Corviknight (G-Max wind rage)
Normal: Snorlax (G-Max Replenish)
Ground: Sandaconda (G-Max Sandblast
Psychic: Orbeetal (G-Max Gravitas)
Electric: Toxtricity (G-Max Stun Shock)
Poison: Garbodor (G-Max Malodor)
Steel: Copperajah (G-Max Steelsurge) (confirmed)
It’s also possible that the electric one could have a Pikachu, the steel one could have a Mel metal and the normal one could have a meowth or a Eevee.
> 4:31 "Calculates [...] the perfect angles to always hit the target".
> Doesn't give out the TM for Aerial Ace 🤔
He doesn't need your bypassing accuracy moves...
I have a feeling Galar will get the gen 7 treatment with "Ultra" versions.
Milo does have G-Max just not in the gym battle. Flapple in Sword and Appltun in Shield in the Tournament
What about the other trainers that show up in the Champion Cup and the rematches? There's one for each type (I think). I sorta saw these guys as the competition to the current gym leaders, as they all have mono-type teams.
I’ve waited my whole life for this video 🤩
Have thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos. Maybe in a similar vein you could do pokemon that should have appeared in other regions?
This guy needs to be hired as a writer for this story. They stopped having fresh ideas gens ago.
Big fan of the changing theme song ngl
Thanks, some people never seem to notice and complain...
It's funny that all the type specailists in Galar are gym leaders. There was also this rumor that galar would have 18 gym leaders, one for each type.
Hmm. That could be cool to flesh out. It'll probably happen one of these days. And thanks!
When Pokémon Scarlet and Violet come out, Emperor should complete the series.
Completed until Gen 10 that is...
@@emperorcubone Probably changing a few Pokémon on older episodes (adding Gen 9 pokemon)
Honestly, if Opal and Valarie can share a badge name, it wouldn’t be that bad Viola and the hypothetical bug type gym leader did the same.
I know they could, it's just lame so I'd rather be creative...
@@emperorcubone fair enough.
4:52 A Corviknight which evolves at Lv.38 in the third Gym, at that level you should be challenging Opal (fifth Gym)
Neat
Well they did it for lance
The illegal dragonites
The Bug one I thought for my personal challenge is beat up super fast first stage bug type challenge in a certain. Just like Mustard challenge one
9:07 Panoramic Galar looks cursed O_O.
I don’t think anyone could have done this better than him
I thought of something rather interesting for the Gym Leaders of a future generation.
I like it, it would force players to vary their Pokémon team
I really like your content
I can’t believe they didn’t introduce all the other gym leaders for the Galarian Star tournament
Bug type spetialist should have gmax buterfree because it has a bug g max move
Orbetle should not be the ace since it has psyhic g max moves
Kinda wished you used the sprites of the Gym Challengers from the Champion tournament, since they are already type coded.
Btw, the end of the video is so wholesome, I love it!
So, I find it unlikely, but my mind cannot keep from making a twin peaks reference after he named the normal leader Nadine and her “underestimated strength”
2021 is going to be the year we get Emperor Cubone to 100k! Let's do it y'all!
I don’t like the bug one I think it should butterfree as the ace. It evolves very earlier then orbeetle does also butterfrees g max move is a bug type and orbeetle is phsycic
I can't believe the uniforms that are already in the game for all this gyms where ignored
If the add all the regions together, you get a total of 39 missing type specailists!
Shouldn't the bug type gym leader have butterfree? Orbeetle G-max move is psychic, not bug
Plus, Orbeetle doesn’t evolve until level 30, so if it’s the first gym, we’d have a Dragonite (or Ecruteak Haunter) situation.
But orbeetles a new gen 8 mon
@@iuk5099 I know, but shouldn't the gym leader use the G-max move that's there type?
I was JUST thinking that
Yeah, that's kind of the point; Gym Leaders are notorious for using Pokemon that shouldn't be possible. Plus I'm not sure the G-Max move is the main focus, but if that's the case just don't have it know that one and focus on Bug moves instead...
Actually you meet the possible specialist in the game when you redo the championship tournament.
The problem with your bug type gym leader for Galar is that Orbeetle's Gmax move is psychic type, so Avery should have Gmax Orbeetle
The electric gym leader is basically the same team mandjtv made if he was a gym leader in the galar region
hopefully they scratch this idea of monotype gyms in the future. they need more of a challenge
I could see bug types in ballonlea. I mean yes it’s fairy but also bugs like the woods and mushrooms and stuff.
Can you do the series but now with elite four ?
I believe that galar has lots of towns and city's but the city's we go to are the ones for the gym challenge that year
Sure, I guess...
Jersey numbers for the gym leaders:
Bug: 079
Flying:457
Electric:034
Normal:146
Ground:017
I'm glad that they added Klara to the DLC. Poison is my favorite type but I feel like its criminally underrepresented in comparison to other types :( more Poison type gym leaders Gamefreak pleaseee 🥺
Just more Poison types in General! There were 33 of them in Gen 1 and then Gens 2-7 combined added 33 more; only with the THREE new ones added in Galar have all the other generations finally outweighed the first one...
@@emperorcubone Yes ! Especially more Mono Poison types ! I feel like all the popular Poison types are tied to another type e.g. Gengar, Nidoking, Salazzle.
@@liamheneghan4977 I mean, its not that we have a lot of pure Poison types to begin with: Ekans Line, Weezing Line (Obviously not counting the Galar one), Grimer line, Gulpin line and the Trubbish line and Seviper. So thats 6 pure poison type lines, with the latest being in gen 5.
No, a better name for the normal badge is the Vanilla Badge(for the cake theme).
Give us something Dr. Who related in galar
I honestly can’t believe they didn’t reference that in the games
@@nazeersadek6705 especially considering they had looker
Did u make this on powerpoint? Looks like it
Honestly tho, Raihan is technically the ground type gym leader 😂
though he only has one ground type, flygon, and has 2 dragon types, the better way to describe him is as the sandstorm leader
@@pcu9284 I’m pretty sure he had a Gigalith, no?
@@josephseo7367 gigalith is a rock type
@@pcu9284 ik 😂 I was just saying that I thought he used a Gigalith too
Wow I just realized those things with gmax toxtricitry
I kind of wanna draw these gym leaders I’m in love
How about a six member 8th gym? With both Toxicitries as the final two to get the Plus Minus boost?
The rest of the team could be the same except youd add an Arctozolt. Maybe Morpeko but thats already Marnies pokemon and maybe a tad weak for the 8th gym.
The madman did it
The fact that not all types got a gym leader pissed me off
I feel like orbeetle is to strong to be a pokemon for the first gym battle. it would probably have to be a biplug or dotler instead, as it would be an orbeetle in the championships
Honestly regigigas could have fixed galar's power problem, most people say regieleki, however if regigigas can cr eww ate an infinite power source like regieleki and bring it to life, I think it could create another non living infinite power source
I feel like the normal gym leader would be Hop, the Electric gym leader would be Sonia, the flying gym leader would be the guy with the Corvinight.
Sophisticated puzzles? Boiiii where tho👀
The turffield signs are for gmax melmetal and below the gmax melmetal is meltans
Gmax toxtricity*
