Just when I thought it's gonna loop for the next half duration... The choir sets in and I'm immediately sold. My childhood fantasy... It just got awesome... *manly tears*
Trollface I'm glad you stuck around for the second part. According to TH-cam's Analytics section, the majority of the people who watch this video close it right before the choir kicks in. Anyway, your comment is much appreciated and very untroll-like. :)
Oh, that face? I just put there to have others tread carefully and prevent them from replying me with garbage when I put forth a credible arguments. It works ಠ‿ಠ
This track made me hit the subscribe button. You went beyond simply updating someone else's music. You saw what is possible with a modern platform and were bold enough to go after it AND do it well. This is talent.
KittoKittoMawateiru Thanks so much! Haunting is exactly what I was going for with this one. I wanted it to give me the same chills that the original did so many years ago.
Alex K I have a theory that having played the game and knowing the exact scene that the music is used in helps me capture or enhance the feeling that it's supposed to have. I'm not 100% sure of this, but it explains why some older orchestral arrangements of video game music sounded nice but devoid of the original feeling.
Your remasters are so incredible. I love how you retain the original mood of the OST while actually improving on it instead of completely changing it like most of the "remasters" do.
Dude, I LOVE this remix. One of my favorite tracks from VI. I find this to really help with writing in particular. I basically wrote a whole chapter in my book to this track. Thanks
Oh wow! I love this. It has the tension and mystery that feels just right. Then when I let my guard down. BAM! The choir comes in and I feel like this song should be in a Tim Burton film. Best version of this song I've ever heard man.
moogle847 Thanks! Even though it's not a very well-known FF track and doesn't get a lot of views, I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out and I'm glad you like it too.
Great arrangement! You always keep the soul of original soundtrack. Keep up the good work and I hope you finish this amazing FFVI album! Btw is there a download link for your music?
Thank you! The FFVI album is delayed, but it will still happen eventually. I don't provide download links for any of my music, but I don't mind if you use an online downloader to convert the video to mp3.
Thanks! I'm planning to do a lot more FF6, but it will have to wait until I'm finished with Chrono Trigger and FF4. The three tracks that you mentioned are all on the list.
TheUKNutter The software I use (sequencer and sample libraries listed in the video description) is quite good and it's used by professional composers. A lot of the music you hear in games and television was done with the same software I'm using. Unfortunately, this means it's not very easy to use. It's certainly not impossible though. I did this remake after about a year of experience using the software. It took around 20 hours to complete. At my current level, I could probably do it in less than 10 hours.
I am hopeless with difficult-to-use software, as I'm quite the slow learner with computer stuff - is it possible for you to show me how to use it if I get it? I would be greatly appreciated if you did. I can't just trial and error it like most can, I have short term memory loss and would forget it the next day if I learnt it that way :/
TheUKNutter I learned it all through trial and error since that's my preferred learning method, but there are plenty of tutorials out there that will take you through it step by step, and there are also forums where you can get specific questions answered. I suggest you do some research on DAWs/sequencers to find one that's right for you. If you end up using Cubase, I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have about using it even though I'm by no means an expert.
All of my family prefer that method too, I do not. Oh, and where is the best way to get those sounds in the description, do you have to buy them on a certain website or something? Is Cubase expensive? Not sure if you have the time, but I reccommend a song that could be orchestrated really well - it might not be your taste though. It's called Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Main Theme (Reprise) or something like that. Check it out, all of the songs on that game have really cool 80's reverb sounds that could take you back to your era! :D
TheUKNutter I bought all the software I use directly from the developers websites. Most of it has some form of copy protection like a USB hardware key or watermarking. Cubase is $500 for the full version and $100 for the basic version. The basic version (Cubase Elements) doesn't require a hardware key and it would probably be good enough for your purposes. Sample libraries tend to be very expensive and many of them require an addition program called Kontakt. Choosing which libraries to get is a very big decision and there are a lot of factors involved like budget, computer specs (especially RAM), and the kind of music your want to make. There's a forum called "v.i. control" just for sample libraries, and I think it could be helpful for you. As for Blood Dragon, I'll check it out. I generally only do remakes of games that I've played though.

The choir during the second half is absolutely beautiful! Love your remixes, looking forward to hearing more!
Yes! That choir is on point!! Also, fancy meeting you here! :)
I have legitimately listened to music by all three of you; seeing you gathered in one place here is kind of surreal not going to lie.
This track made me hit the subscribe button. You went beyond simply updating someone else's music. You saw what is possible with a modern platform and were bold enough to go after it AND do it well. This is talent.
Thank you! I'm glad you like what I did with this piece.
This exceeds even the original, the piercing highs at 52 seconds to be embraced by the vocals 1:11 was mesmerizing...
This is beautifully haunting! You've captured mood precisely! Good work!
KittoKittoMawateiru Thanks so much! Haunting is exactly what I was going for with this one. I wanted it to give me the same chills that the original did so many years ago.
A beautiful orchestration and I love the voice
What I find really impressive is how none of the mysterious and otherworldly feeling is lost. Superb job!

This is a great collection of mixes. Thank you so much for putting them together :)
the voice puts this over the top. amazing!

+MELERIX Thank you!
And here we have another exquisite masterpiece.... WOW I would PAY FOR ALL THESE AMAZING REDITIONS...... where do I sign up to buy them!!! XD XD
These vocals need to be put on the pixel remaster version
This music still creeps me out as a grown man, it's unnerving.
That's funny - i think it's beautiful. To each their own.
@@joshuaflaccavento1029 I think it's both beautiful And creepy 😅, I love it
Awesome
Love this! A+
So I found the Lavos track, and then it lead me to this track, and then I hit Subscribed!
+tentales10 Thank you! I really appreciate it! :)
No matter the version I find this track _creepy_____ :D
+Amikunkka The composition itself is totally creepy and I did my best to enhance the creepiness.

If things go according to schedule, there should be a lot more in 2018.
I'll take the bits
I sãs just going to buy meat for dinner...
Now i am looking for the best market in this swamp of a city!
These are great! Have you considered doing any other FF6 tracks, like Terra's Theme, The Unforgiven, or Dancing Mad?
Thanks! I'm planning to do a lot more FF6, but it will have to wait until I'm finished with Chrono Trigger and FF4. The three tracks that you mentioned are all on the list.
Malcolm Robinson Music I’m very late but do you plan to do « the Magic House », « Strago theme » or « Gogo theme » ? Cause that would be very nice
@@MalcolmRobinsonMusic
I’m even later haha
Your orchestral remixes are amazing man! Will you do Terra’s Theme? That’s my favorite.
I like to link this every now and again, since my Discord handle is esper, and it's not because of Mark Esper...it's because of this game :v
The software and instruments you used? Are they any good? And if so, is it easy to navigate?

Sounds like Harry Potter-style.
Is this Locrian mode?
