One of his traps is a chamber that's filling up with salt, while he taunts the heroes that they'll suffocate, emphasized by him clenching his hands around his own neck. In retrospect, seems on the edge of what TV standards at the time would have permitted for violence/death threats.

It's funny to mention it but in one of the episodes of Hercules titled "Hercules and the Hero of Athens" Icarus is shown to battle a gigantic mechanical robot controlled by someone who resembles him. We must also keep it in mind that the Aladdin Show took place three or four years earlier than the Hercules franchise.
Probably to mix things up. Sure they could've strictly had Aladdin fight only Arabian inspired villains, but having a Greek villain reminds us that other countries existed and allows for alternate antagonists. Plus I imagine it was to offer a more science inspired villain compared to Arabian which was more magic focused.
And also I really do enjoy how much things that I really enjoy let’s just say this your videos of every villain and every hero is pretty much a comparison to all the other things that we like to enjoy and I am very grateful for that so thank you very much for all the things that you and everyone else enjoys and take care of this is really good for me
2 things. One, imagine if Mechaniclese took therapy to cure his OCD. He'd be a real threat, like a Mozenwrath with science instead of magik. Two, is it just me, but is he voiced by the same dude who does Mr. and Mrs. Bighead from Rocko's Modern Life?
