@@katilpatates290 I feel confident playing guitar and ukulele. By that I mean, I don't mess up as often. I am still trash at fast solos and sweep picking but I can play them if I spend +8 hours during the week practicing them
I have been playing guitar 20 years and had a hard time learning this by ear. I have tried another video, but the talking got me down and really confused in that one. You did excellent and I was able to really follow you with those close ups! Great job and keep on doing what your doing!
excellent lession, Ive always wanted to know how to do that, now i can finally play it! (although i have to do both parts at the same time where i can so its not as good as you lol
i have guitar rig3 for the mac, i would love to know what settings you used for that sound, its perfect ! I've tried tons of peoples settings but they never pan out Excellent job on this, perfect A +
Ryan Reynolds Thanks! I use V-picks ("Snake" in this particular video). Yes, they are quite thick. I have to say that these picks helped me a lot with the speed. They've got tons of different picks on their website. Check 'em out!
thank you so much dude, been wanting to get round to learn this, for 30 years ha ha now today i did in 1 night awesome. and your style of teaching is great. many thanks.
When you play the first note on the 6th string then move down to the 5th, do you keep the 6th string ringing throughout or do you try and mute it to keep from unwanted string noise?
It sounds whatever. You can't play with backing tracks though. Unless you transpose the bass. Probably should get comfortable trying different tunings. Especially slayer tuning. Super mild detune. Not like drop c or b. Although, c isn't far off either. Get yourself a simple, but decent korg tuner. Trust me. A nice tuner is beautiful.
As an angry insecure teenager, learning this riff feels like it puts power in your hands dude straight electric, you feel like you’re playing sacred notes and you transcend your gay bs😂
I’m 54 yrs old. Back in the 80s I payed some dude $20 for a half hour lesson twice a week for 3 months. The fact that we don’t have many kids rocking the guitar nowadays with TH-cam tutorials is kinda sad. EDM and Rapp have stripped them of this skills.
Just for reference. Hope I got close enough.
1:54 opening riff
7:24 next riff
10:15 verse riff
12:25 pre chorus

Thanks Alex!
best lesson!
Anyone know what guitar that is?
Really really thank you my friend
That is awesome !!!
Thanks for the help sounds good
Got a Peavy Rockmaster for $10 at a garage sale, always wanted to learn this, thanks!
What effects were used here? And second question is - what noise gate are you using if any? Thanks : )
Codega Soft I use VST Plug-In Guitar Rig, so it has "built in" noise gate. Effects - just some reverb. That's it. Thanks!
Nice lesson and nice guitar! Which model of ibanez is it?
It's a JS100 (first Joe Satriani signature model) Thanks!
JH would be proud of your lesson pal
How did you get the tone of the guitar so perfect? What hardware/software did you use?
I'm using "Guitar Rig" for the sound. Thanks!
thank you very much brow!
Hi Alex you are my hero congratulations to the channel, you should make a tutorial abouth Black Winter Day by Amorphis ?

I use a VST Plug-In Guitar Rig. Thanks!
Гениальная песня) разбор супер)

and great job man .. thumbs up !!
It's a JS100(Joe Satriani sig. model) Cheers!

Great lesson, very helpful. What kind of pick do you use here? It looks a good deal thicker than anything standard.

Yes, it is!

INSANE TONE

Perfect
Mighty tutorial
Hey! is that on drop b or what ?? and thanks
Mustafa Ekhtiar Drop B? Its a half step down meaning every string is tuned flat
What amp is this?
Is that the JS100?
Good

thx
When you play the first note on the 6th string then move down to the 5th, do you keep the 6th string ringing throughout or do you try and mute it to keep from unwanted string noise?
It's kinda in between - you play the open E half palm muted and let it ring out. Depends how much gain you have as well.
🤘 👌
those gallops and 16th notes are tricky. beginners can substitute with just 1 down stroke and make the 16th note riff 8th note to make it simple.
Standard tuning?
half a step down
I just noticed you instantly mute the first E string with your thumb, that note was drowning the sound of the other ones everytime i used gain
Is that a Roadstar ii ? I have one that is black but needs pick - ups. Does anyone know ?
Can you also play this in standart Tuning or does it sound bad?
It sounds whatever. You can't play with backing tracks though. Unless you transpose the bass. Probably should get comfortable trying different tunings. Especially slayer tuning. Super mild detune. Not like drop c or b. Although, c isn't far off either. Get yourself a simple, but decent korg tuner. Trust me. A nice tuner is beautiful.
Where to find tabs?
Are these in the video not enough?
yeah, but the song is pretty long :) ...
Guess ill take more time to learn it, but it will be better

Jeff Hanneman was the better composer in my opinion too. Thanks for the breakdown!
Even easy for me who can only play smoke on the water and another bites the dust(on bass)
It sounds like the pirate from the intro of SpongeBob, it sounds so good
