Ten years after the events of Crackdown 2, a terrorist attack from an unknown source kills power around the entire world. The Agency is thrust back into action after the attack is traced to the city of New Providence, controlled by the mysterious organization Terra Nova. After the Agency's first strike against the organization fails, the player characters - super-powered Agents - are called into the field by the Agency's Voice and led by Commander Jaxon (Terry Crews) as a last resort to dismantle Terra Nova any way they can.
Weird edit on this one. Not much going on in between the cutscenes, mostly combat dialogue. We did leave a good amount of gameplay, especially in the first half. There's not much to the campaign, same objectives over and over again.

I would love to love this game, but I just cant. This game just doesn't seem to take itself seriously enough like Crackdown 2 did. Yes, Crackdown 2 was a comical game where you could chuck cars at the bad guys and have super cars that would "Stick to the road like shit to a blanket", but the story itself seemed far more "serious" and "pressing" then this one does. With the diseased monsters on one side, and the terrorists on the other side with the peacekeepers and agency caught in the middle, everything felt so much more "dangerous". Even your character "Commander Jaxon" cant seem to bother with taking himself seriously. In my personal opinion, going once more with the silent, professional, and nameless agent would have been a much better idea.
I apologies to anyone who loves this game, but it truly makes me sad that this game, which I have been highly anticipating before it was even announced due to the seeming cliff hanger ending we were left with at the end of Crackdown 2. To all who have read this far, I bid you a good day, and once more apologize more my rambling and hope that you enjoy both the video and the game.

I understand your disagreement, personally I liked it for that exact reason and games that don't take itself seriously allows more space for fun but I understand why you didn't like it and while I don't agree with it, I hope the next one they might make (I really hope there's a sequel) will be more towards your liking and be more able to satisfy both tastes of Seriousness and Comedy. Either way, you had healthy and positive criticism and showed maturity as you explained it. I thank you for that and I am sorry the game wasn't what you were hoping for but again, here's to the sequel and the upgrades it may bring!
My personal review:
Honestly I loved the gameplay, they fixed so many issues crackdown 2 had (Just watch Michael Jones play it and talk about it) They fixed the platforming a little so you can climb things easier, the guns did more damage and felt like actual guns and the Story had a more climatic ending because the Cell issue was never solved and the lines kept repeating but it was a fun game for me and this made it better. And Terry crews laughing as he's being vaporized was shocking for me but I understood why he still remained himself, it's because they literally die everyday and come back (Which would be a horrible yet REALLY fun thing to have in real life.) To Niemand and her goons it was the end of their regime, but to Jaxon and his Crew it was just a Tuesday with a hint of humidity.
You forgot to add the part where the Agency are actually the bad guys too.

@@at0mik773 That's such a disingenuous take at the second game's story. In that game there was the main story and the hidden story, which majority of people never saw - only 5% or so according to xbox achievement statistics. The game even had a facebook game which you could play to unlock an easter egg grenade, the quacker (which was also something in the first game). I agree that there is definitely more to do in the first game, and can see why a lot of people prefer the first over the second, but that doesn't mean the first is objectively better than the second; they are just different.

I really enjoy some elements of the game ,which i think are spot on cool. The premise is interesting, the villains are actually awesome with their different departments and expertises, and that's about it. The main gripe however is in it's waste of potential. If there a little bit more development into the power tree of TN, adding more unique bosses and quests along with a well developed story, this game could have done much better than it is now. Otherwise, it's a fun little game if you are in just for carnage.
Let's be honest though...a lot of us were in it for the carnage. >:)

Pretty neat. Just one question though: What happened to the other bosses? You're missing a whole third of them! The Head of Security and his minions. Why'd ya skip 'em? Too boring? Or did you forget to upload them?

I was honestly expecting a twist that the Agency was funding TerraNova, and now they wanted to eliminate any evidence to prove that, or TerraNova went rogue and against what the Agency wanted so they had to be taken down for insubordination

I think that this game should be remastered, as well as fixed, and that the sequel to this game should show that The Agency was merely a tool for an even bigger evil, as were their enemies. Naturally an even more powerful version of enhanced Agents, combined with the technology of Terranova, could be a superior version of the Agents, which would naturally force The Agency to make even more powerful Agents, but that would also dovetail perfectly into the plans of this shadowy agency, which would form a subdivision of the Terranova Corporation that is called The Phoenix Legion, and that the organization that would be controlling The Phoenix Legion AND The Agency were actually Lucifer and his minions, particularly his human minions. Have The Phoenix Legion, The Agency, and The Lucifer Society be your main villain groups in New Providence, as well as have the city from the first two Crackdown games, along with some other cities, and Crackdown 4 could really be great. The franchise needs a proper end.
I actually like this game and the story/plot of it all. Fun TPS with alot going is my cup o' tea ☕.. Thanx for the cool video I def need this game in the stash!

Strahan 34 your only letting yourself feel disappointed because you and all kinds of people are comparing this to other games instead of appreciating what it does have and, most importantly, actually trying to enjoy it. But everyone seems to forget that because they’re too busy subconsciously combing every inch of anything involved with something that they liked in the past being brought back. Just to find things minor to exaggerate and complain about and/or go as far as to subconsciously warp their own perception of reality, all just to convince themselves that it’s terrible so that it justifies the subconscious discomfort of seeing something that they find familiar yet different. I know it sounds complicated, but it’s mental instincts stuff so of course it’s complicated... Sorry I’ve been trying forever to explain this correctly.
Game took way too long and that had its toll on it if it had the physics that were shown in the E3 it would be something really special,it had potential but now its just another mediocre,action game at best and its a good thing its free with gamepass

You'd think so, but the hand was missing the agency tattoo and I doubt they'd leave out the only detail the Crackdown 2 Agent's hand had. I'd say maybe they're cloning the individual parts of the agent, but that's a right arm, which is the same that they had from the ending of Crackdown 2. Maybe they did clone it and didn't use the original hand? Idk, all I can hope is that they still make a Crackdown 4 and that it's much better.
