Alot of people have been bashing the graphics which kinda sucks. I don't think people should judge a game based on the way it looks. I personally think it looks pretty fun. I just kind of wish that destruction was in the single player as I'm not huge on multiplayer

He got like a custom built PC from JayzTwoCents, which is the 2 fastest GPUs in SLI before Turring (RTX 20 series). PC is Old Spice in theme. (not sure if he had more powerful PCs tho.)

Pretty big shame that the fully destructable buildings didn't get into singleplayer. I remember that 2014 E3 trailer and how badass it looked showing how the destruction could have been.
Never trust an e3 trailer, ever. It's like a car show where they will show you a prototype of a car looking like something out of FF universe. Then it comes out in production looking like something Walter White picks up meth in.
That would literally break the game though. All the bosses would need to be in underground bunkers, otherwise a newspawn could just blow up the base of the skyscrapers and kill everything instantly.
I found gamepass is a good for trying games im unsure about or games i never would have tried, as i wait on true games i want. They really need more games on it thou.
True I decided to try it since I have game pass and I most say I don't them see selling a ton of these or anyone trying it besides it being on game pass. Its ok far from great, its just a time killer no wonder they stealth released.

Yup. And the solid 60 fps highlights just how souless it is. It worked on 360, but considering this is the same _again_ (CD2 was a lazy sequel) it confirms this game should have been a one-off. There is nothing more of value that can be added to this 'franchise'. Please let it be a good 2007 memory, Microsoft.

Crackdown is one of my favorite game series of all time. I never went in for the multiplayer, I'm always about the single player for Crackdown. Just the progression of becoming a super cop has always entertained me. So I've gotten what I wanted out of it so far.
Slam Dunkey same here bud. No one really ever talks about 2 but it’s my favorite out of them so far. Maybe because it’s the one that got me into the franchise and IMO has one of the best demos ever

Lyons I think it might be because it’s on console and you’re moving very fast, it’s kind of hard to aim with a controller at that speed, or in general with a controller.
looks so boring. I haven't played RDR2 because Rockstars shooting mechanics really mess up the game for me. I won't pay $60 for such an important part of the game to be a slog.

God. I'm a PlayStation fan but I hate seeing Xbox fail like this. Everytime I hear of an Xbox exclusive coming out. I think: ok could this finally be the game to convince me to buy an Xbox. Then I find out that this "exclusive" was also released and PC. But even if it wasn't. The exclusive games the Xbox one offers are just meh. This is bothering me. Because despite me never owing an Xbox before. And only sticking with PlayStation. I had tons of friends who owned only Xbox. And we would play games like Halo together and when I went to my uncle's house I would play Minecraft (before it came out on PlayStation and before I got a computer). I was actually considering to buy an Xbox to try halo but it's on PC. Or sea of thieves I was hyped for sea of thieves. And actually was saving up for an Xbox just for sea of thieves. I thought it was gonna be an elder scrolls type of game. Unfortunately, after the game finally released and I saw this reviews....
I think there's plenty of reasons why there's not building destruction in single player, I remember hearing that it keeps the data of the destroyed buildings and debris all on servers so it doesn't lag like shit there's probably a lot of other things i don't know so maybe u should look into it.

Arstellum well, it wasn’t developed by the same company but both games were being published and funded by Microsoft to be exclusives for the platform. Scalebound got canceled because of “engine issues and missing deadlines” I think Phil also said that there was a lot of hype and anticipation for it and they felt that they couldn’t meet those expectations. and then this just gets delayed 3/4 times...
The thing I love about the game is the impression that each mission is as possible as you make it, for example, even if a mission gives you like a 23% chance of survival based on your current abilities, you can still attempt it and take it as slowly as you want and get a real kick out of the impression that you've achieved something 'you weren't supposed to', even if it appears tedious to some extent and 'not part of the game'. There's a wonderful rawness to it.
Crackdown 1 gave me one of the most fun achievements I ever worked for. You fight all the gang bosses one by one on extremely hard. Always went for the homing rocket for enemies, shotgun for head shooting the boss getting an insta kill, and cloak to get around and close to the boss. Fun times
When I was a kid this game was a major influence for me to get into criminal justice. By the age of 18 I became a security officer and enjoyed it a lot. With our dispatch communications, CCTV camera room, and baby blue uniforms it felt very real. I actually made my first detainment of a criminal with warrants in that job. Now I’m a private investigator who plans to be the director of loss prevention to investigate organize retail crime, fraud, internal theft, and white collar crimes. Who says games aren’t a good influence? Haha this game motivated me through college. And on top of the fact my USMC uncle was proud. My family have always been military. And I’ve made a new twist to my family tradition by serving the public not as a Marine, but as a Director of loss prevention investigations to bring shoplifting ring leaders, corrupt executives and fraudsters to justice. Thanks Crackdown, this game will always be in my heart.
For the single player I'd like to see a new game + to go through everything over powered and help max out all our skills that aren't max out on our first play-through. For multiplayer the progression can be better. Have your agent levelling up through other modes is a great idea Wreaking zone and the other mode for shooting and explosion skills, maybe add in bonus objectives to boost levelling up. Racing modes for driving and agility skill. Maybe a horde mode to help all skills to level up. There's so much they can add in updates we just got to hope they listen to fans for feedback and ideas.
I agree - the single player is a little underwhelming, but it's fun and I'm enjoying it. The multiplayer feels like an early tech demo. You're spot on with referencing Red Faction Guerrilla. The online multiplayer in that was fantastic and they handled destructible environments very well.
@Joppe Algra you do realize what a decade is right? It’s 10 years, Crackdown 1 released February 20th so almost 13 years exactly. You’re basically comparing shoes from your favorite brand. They teased a shoe design you really like and they don’t release it for almost 13 years. ( not sure of you’re a shoe fanatic) at least the game got released, yeah it might not be a AAA game with a multimillion dollar budget but at least the game is being released. People expect things to be perfect but are you perfect? I doubt you are and neither am I. Sorry for the rant it’s how I do things.

Metro Exodus is another long awaited game of mine yeah not as long as Crackdown 3 but it’s a game I’ve wanted to play, not everyone will enjoy it and that’s fine. The only other games I know of that will launch in March is The division 2 which is meh kinda looking forward to and sekiro shadows die twice is another meh game. It looks pretty good but it’s a new take for the developers that made the legendary Dark Souls franchise. I’ve got the Xbox game pass for $2 and that’s for 2 months. Crackdown 3 is one of the games that will be on it, I’m only spending $2 for a $60 game and unlike most TH-camrs I don’t have this super high bar where the game is supposed to the number one bought game. These days games usually hit the middle or a little pass that for all players, I’m just glad they are getting to release two long awaited games.
Looks like a remastered Crackdown 1, AND feels like it has worse controls. Yet I'm still having fun with it. Crackdown 3 looks like I REMEMBER Crackdown 1 looking, which is sad.

Crackdown Reignited Trilogy would be dope, just give me 1 & 2 on PC please, steam release would make me cum even harder as opposed to microsoft store and console which are both growing out of functionality as time moves on. They don't even use cross-play for all their microsoft store titles despite using the same servers, they literally are choosing not to use a feature for a lot of titles out of pure evil for no reason, fucking modders have found ways to manually add cross-play to multiple titles on the microsoft store but can't even release it without the risk of being legally raped due to microsoft's dystopian TOS.

Honestly, I love Crackdown. And I am sad that it's not on PlayStation at all. But then..... I realized Saints Row 4 is pretty much Crackdown. And now I want to play SR4 again.

@@sexymajesco It was originally the main selling point back when they showed the first footage of it. Also it has changed so much since then. There is a good rant video about it showing the comparisons of the before and after. Before you actually had to shoot a bunch to destroy anything, and each bullet did damage at the site of impact. You could shoot bullets into a wall, in the shape of a door, and the piece of debris would fall out in that shape. Now it has been changed to be multiplayer only, all the destruction is prerendered shapes (you can see outlines of these shapes when actually destroying things), debris does no contact damage, and it feels weightless (like destroying a box instead of an actual building)
I just finished Crackdown 3. I really enjoyed Crackdown 1, avoided Crackdown 2, and I did enjoy Crackdown 3's campaign. Like you said, it's what I expected - becoming powerful and leaping around causing mayhem. It could have been more innovative or had a better story, but oh well. It makes for a fun few evenings of action gaming. The multiplayer is weak at best. The technology is great but the implementation is bad. Thanks for your review, I enjoyed it :)

This didn't need to be an XBOX ONE game. The entire selling point for this game was destructible environment, but even that is done poorly and doesn't have any tactical advantage. The single player AI is outdated as well. This is a last gen game.
@Mark Donald here's one question though who the fuck bought crack down on release for crack down? even people that bought it back then said it was a mediocre game at best but just wanted it for the halo beta then the second one came out i remember all the ad for that it failed as a sequal played a bit of it and got bored.
But the first was an early title for the xbox 360 and didn't pretend to be anything more than a piss-around. It also took far less time to develop and didn't sell itself as a triple a title with loads of glorious features. The game was also time relivant and matched the interest of gamers at the time.

7:00 the sound of getting the orbs is exactly the same and brought back such good memories (crackdown 2) that made me want to cry (back when things were so simple)
Just Cause 2 is more fun than this game. If they could've done it similar with Crackdown 3, make really big open world with bunch of vehicles (not just ground vehicles) that'll take you month to get 100%, that'd be amazing. I remember when i played JC2 it took me month to get 100%. All the collectibles scattered around the big open world map and those challenges... Even enemies are funnier (with their dialogues) than last two JC games that are released. JC2 still looks amazing after all these years. Even dominates Crackdown 3 graphics.
Crackdown needs a serious triple A dev to come along and do right by it. It keeps being handed off to these smaller studios and it shows. Crackdown is a big game. That means these studios spend 90% of their time on the world and not the characters, story, or gfx.
Crackdown 1&2 were awesome but this is pretty much a watered down Agents of Mayhem at this point. Granted, it’s the original formula but man, does that formula need work.

100% behind them needing transforming vehicles. That was one of my favorite parts. Multiplayer... I don't care so much. It is a missed opportunity to do something cool, but not condemning. Overall, I'm thrilled to take on insurmountable odds and obliterate with almost no concern. It's not a hard game, but it's a fun game. We need more fun games.

I think your view would be better accepted if Xbox was not the dessert of gaming. You don't want your exclusive oasis to have a meta score of sixty and change. The problem is there are no games for Xbox, so the gravity of the release wanted or unwanted gains attention exponentially. If 3 to 5 high quality AAA first title games where releasing this IP would be thought of in different terms but its not. Its ONE of two major first party releases for the year. At least Gears should have a better draw and score in the 80's hopefully.The others Like Ori are good games but they wont be AAA or have console selling mainstream appeal. Obviously those games still have value, but you get my point.
Joshua Sterling nobody with a brain thought crackdown 3 would end the exclusive discussion, it has always been a sandbox mayhem type of game. Nothing deeper, I love it for that. Every game wants you to sink your life in it, but micro transactions, or wait for it to get better because the game is broken at launch. Crackdown is none of them, and it’s nice.
Exclusives are indicative of the heath and goals of the company that your platform belongs to. Even if you never played a first party game it should matter to you for the community abroad. Besides Global sales for multiplayer non walking simulators Halo and Gears have not outsold single player games on PlayStation. Halo has less than six million sold for example. The only games to outsell Spiderman are Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption and Battlefield. So literally three franchises in five years. Besides I play Xbox on pc, it certainly does not warrant dedicated hardware. You are a second class citizen in your own land and you dont realize it yet. Have fun paying for live for the rest of your life while you watch every other platform on earth enjoy live without paying. Also I will be playing Gears Tactics when it comes out because its not coming to console. On a content starved platform that was the last straw for me, I sold my Xbox right after last year's E3. It was Xbox's silent omission that they were done for the generation. The One S is inferior to the base PlayStation and the X is inferior to a good pc, and while the X is a great console and shows intent from Microsoft its not the complete picture they need to provide. I have about 300 hours playing Xbox on PC and its great. PS4 Pro and PC are all you need to not miss anything, maybe with a Switch on the side.Your tone indicates that I am anti Xbox, I have been buying that console for twenty years. Not happening next generation though.
This game is actually quite fun. A lot of reviewers are pretending it doesn't exist. One made a snarky comment about "another Xbox game". Oh well their loss. Sometimes you just have to try for yourself.

Yeah let’s dismiss reviewers because MS disappoints once more with their exclusives while Sony and Nintendo actually deliver. Hell weren’t fans happy with FH4 couple months ago? Reviewers are gamers too and they have spoken. This game is a disappointment and MS has no excuse for this after the “cloud destruction” hype.
I definitely enjoy the campaign version so far, I was super huge fan of the first Crackdown, spent hours upon hours playing that game and so far I have no complaints with the campaign at all. Searching for orbs brings back all the orb hunting memories from the first one. I have yet to do wrecking ball, but CO-OP is so far a lot of fun as well.
The campaign is pure fun. It does feel old school, with ancient features like being overpowered and actually getting stronger than opponents you face rather than them leveling up with you. It is just pure carnage when the game is at its best, and plus you get to play as terry crews. One downside to that though is even the devs knew everyone would play as him, none of the other agents even have any voice lines, and they do give different xp increases so it can be valuable to switch agents. Ah well, I really have no problem with stickin with Terry

Crackdown 1 was such a fun game. One of my favorites from the 360 era

God. I'm a PlayStation fan but I hate seeing Xbox fail like this. Everytime I hear of an Xbox exclusive coming out. I think: ok could this finally be the game to convince me to buy an Xbox. Then I find out that this "exclusive" was also released and PC. But even if it wasn't. The exclusive games the Xbox one offers are just meh.
This is bothering me. Because despite me never owing an Xbox before. And only sticking with PlayStation. I had tons of friends who owned only Xbox. And we would play games like Halo together and when I went to my uncle's house I would play Minecraft (before it came out on PlayStation and before I got a computer). I was actually considering to buy an Xbox to try halo but it's on PC. Or sea of thieves I was hyped for sea of thieves. And actually was saving up for an Xbox just for sea of thieves. I thought it was gonna be an elder scrolls type of game. Unfortunately, after the game finally released and I saw this reviews....

Arstellum well, it wasn’t developed by the same company but both games were being published and funded by Microsoft to be exclusives for the platform. Scalebound got canceled because of “engine issues and missing deadlines” I think Phil also said that there was a lot of hype and anticipation for it and they felt that they couldn’t meet those expectations. and then this just gets delayed 3/4 times...
The thing I love about the game is the impression that each mission is as possible as you make it, for example, even if a mission gives you like a 23% chance of survival based on your current abilities, you can still attempt it and take it as slowly as you want and get a real kick out of the impression that you've achieved something 'you weren't supposed to', even if it appears tedious to some extent and 'not part of the game'. There's a wonderful rawness to it.
Crackdown 1 gave me one of the most fun achievements I ever worked for. You fight all the gang bosses one by one on extremely hard. Always went for the homing rocket for enemies, shotgun for head shooting the boss getting an insta kill, and cloak to get around and close to the boss. Fun times

When I was a kid this game was a major influence for me to get into criminal justice. By the age of 18 I became a security officer and enjoyed it a lot. With our dispatch communications, CCTV camera room, and baby blue uniforms it felt very real. I actually made my first detainment of a criminal with warrants in that job. Now I’m a private investigator who plans to be the director of loss prevention to investigate organize retail crime, fraud, internal theft, and white collar crimes. Who says games aren’t a good influence? Haha this game motivated me through college. And on top of the fact my USMC uncle was proud. My family have always been military. And I’ve made a new twist to my family tradition by serving the public not as a Marine, but as a Director of loss prevention investigations to bring shoplifting ring leaders, corrupt executives and fraudsters to justice. Thanks Crackdown, this game will always be in my heart.

For the single player I'd like to see a new game + to go through everything over powered and help max out all our skills that aren't max out on our first play-through.
For multiplayer the progression can be better. Have your agent levelling up through other modes is a great idea
Wreaking zone and the other mode for shooting and explosion skills, maybe add in bonus objectives to boost levelling up.
Racing modes for driving and agility skill.
Maybe a horde mode to help all skills to level up.
There's so much they can add in updates we just got to hope they listen to fans for feedback and ideas.

I agree - the single player is a little underwhelming, but it's fun and I'm enjoying it. The multiplayer feels like an early tech demo. You're spot on with referencing Red Faction Guerrilla. The online multiplayer in that was fantastic and they handled destructible environments very well.

Metro Exodus is another long awaited game of mine yeah not as long as Crackdown 3 but it’s a game I’ve wanted to play, not everyone will enjoy it and that’s fine. The only other games I know of that will launch in March is The division 2 which is meh kinda looking forward to and sekiro shadows die twice is another meh game. It looks pretty good but it’s a new take for the developers that made the legendary Dark Souls franchise. I’ve got the Xbox game pass for $2 and that’s for 2 months. Crackdown 3 is one of the games that will be on it, I’m only spending $2 for a $60 game and unlike most TH-camrs I don’t have this super high bar where the game is supposed to the number one bought game. These days games usually hit the middle or a little pass that for all players, I’m just glad they are getting to release two long awaited games.

@@sexymajesco It was originally the main selling point back when they showed the first footage of it. Also it has changed so much since then. There is a good rant video about it showing the comparisons of the before and after. Before you actually had to shoot a bunch to destroy anything, and each bullet did damage at the site of impact. You could shoot bullets into a wall, in the shape of a door, and the piece of debris would fall out in that shape. Now it has been changed to be multiplayer only, all the destruction is prerendered shapes (you can see outlines of these shapes when actually destroying things), debris does no contact damage, and it feels weightless (like destroying a box instead of an actual building)
I just finished Crackdown 3. I really enjoyed Crackdown 1, avoided Crackdown 2, and I did enjoy Crackdown 3's campaign. Like you said, it's what I expected - becoming powerful and leaping around causing mayhem. It could have been more innovative or had a better story, but oh well. It makes for a fun few evenings of action gaming. The multiplayer is weak at best. The technology is great but the implementation is bad. Thanks for your review, I enjoyed it :)

This didn't need to be an XBOX ONE game. The entire selling point for this game was destructible environment, but even that is done poorly and doesn't have any tactical advantage. The single player AI is outdated as well. This is a last gen game.

But the first was an early title for the xbox 360 and didn't pretend to be anything more than a piss-around. It also took far less time to develop and didn't sell itself as a triple a title with loads of glorious features. The game was also time relivant and matched the interest of gamers at the time.

Just Cause 2 is more fun than this game.
If they could've done it similar with Crackdown 3, make really big open world with bunch of vehicles (not just ground vehicles) that'll take you month to get 100%, that'd be amazing.
I remember when i played JC2 it took me month to get 100%. All the collectibles scattered around the big open world map and those challenges...
Even enemies are funnier (with their dialogues) than last two JC games that are released.

Crackdown needs a serious triple A dev to come along and do right by it. It keeps being handed off to these smaller studios and it shows. Crackdown is a big game. That means these studios spend 90% of their time on the world and not the characters, story, or gfx.
Crackdown 1&2 were awesome but this is pretty much a watered down Agents of Mayhem at this point. Granted, it’s the original formula but man, does that formula need work.

I think your view would be better accepted if Xbox was not the dessert of gaming. You don't want your exclusive oasis to have a meta score of sixty and change. The problem is there are no games for Xbox, so the gravity of the release wanted or unwanted gains attention exponentially. If 3 to 5 high quality AAA first title games where releasing this IP would be thought of in different terms but its not. Its ONE of two major first party releases for the year. At least Gears should have a better draw and score in the 80's hopefully.The others Like Ori are good games but they wont be AAA or have console selling mainstream appeal. Obviously those games still have value, but you get my point.

Every game wants you to sink your life in it, but micro transactions, or wait for it to get better because the game is broken at launch. Crackdown is none of them, and it’s nice.
Exclusives are indicative of the heath and goals of the company that your platform belongs to. Even if you never played a first party game it should matter to you for the community abroad. Besides Global sales for multiplayer non walking simulators Halo and Gears have not outsold single player games on PlayStation. Halo has less than six million sold for example. The only games to outsell Spiderman are Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption and Battlefield. So literally three franchises in five years. Besides I play Xbox on pc, it certainly does not warrant dedicated hardware. You are a second class citizen in your own land and you dont realize it yet. Have fun paying for live for the rest of your life while you watch every other platform on earth enjoy live without paying. Also I will be playing Gears Tactics when it comes out because its not coming to console. On a content starved platform that was the last straw for me, I sold my Xbox right after last year's E3. It was Xbox's silent omission that they were done for the generation. The One S is inferior to the base PlayStation and the X is inferior to a good pc, and while the X is a great console and shows intent from Microsoft its not the complete picture they need to provide. I have about 300 hours playing Xbox on PC and its great. PS4 Pro and PC are all you need to not miss anything, maybe with a Switch on the side.Your tone indicates that I am anti Xbox, I have been buying that console for twenty years. Not happening next generation though.
People who talk about exclusives and triple a games being everything sound like greedy developers
This game is actually quite fun. A lot of reviewers are pretending it doesn't exist. One made a snarky comment about "another Xbox game". Oh well their loss. Sometimes you just have to try for yourself.
No...not my loss. There are better games out right now, and many of them cost less than this poor excuse for a AAA game. By the way, I trust the reviewers who are capable of critically analyzing stuff as opposed to blind fanboys like you who defend everything with opinions.
Isn't it a little early to be drinking lol? Nobody said it was the best game. Yes, you will miss out on things, if you blindly follow the narrative. First time playing a Crackdown game, and really enjoyed it - don't get an aneurysm. Admittedly, only played it because of Game Pass though.
Yeah let’s dismiss reviewers because MS disappoints once more with their exclusives while Sony and Nintendo actually deliver. Hell weren’t fans happy with FH4 couple months ago?
Reviewers are gamers too and they have spoken. This game is a disappointment and MS has no excuse for this after the “cloud destruction” hype.

I definitely enjoy the campaign version so far, I was super huge fan of the first Crackdown, spent hours upon hours playing that game and so far I have no complaints with the campaign at all. Searching for orbs brings back all the orb hunting memories from the first one. I have yet to do wrecking ball, but CO-OP is so far a lot of fun as well.

Xbox players deserve better than this...
Xbox players hype up madden like it's the second coming of jesus christ..... they'll be satisfied with CD3. Especially since its exclusive to Xbox.

The campaign is pure fun. It does feel old school, with ancient features like being overpowered and actually getting stronger than opponents you face rather than them leveling up with you. It is just pure carnage when the game is at its best, and plus you get to play as terry crews. One downside to that though is even the devs knew everyone would play as him, none of the other agents even have any voice lines, and they do give different xp increases so it can be valuable to switch agents. Ah well, I really have no problem with stickin with Terry
The vehicles don't morph, not werf.
Is probably still fun, but I'll wait till either it drops in price or they add in morphing, yes I am that petty.
