I love 944. Bought my first one with 163hp in 2003. Last year i bought a 89er Turbo final Edition with 250hp. Gets a bigger turbo with 300hp this spring and ready is my dream car. ❤❤❤ 944 for life ❤❤❤
Ive recently delved into the long beloved Porsche market and I've noticed that these 944 turbos are showing nit to be to exspensive yet. Its definitely a lagging indicator as I know these will take off soon becoming harder to find a clean well kept 80s sportscar. I really want a Porsche, and this seems like the cheapest route for an entry level street rod 😮 I may have to join the fun soon as I also like to party 🎉😂
When I was in HS in 1985 a friend of mine got me a job as a car jockey for Porsche Audi before I went to college. My first day I was driving a brand new 944. Eventually got to drive the 944 turbo HOLY SMACK!!! What fantastic memories!!!
I had an 89 turbo and you're right, you don't need to drive fast to enjoy the car. These cars were great canyon carvers and the handling on my 89 was superb. I'll see you on BAT!
It’s the 944 N/A, and the S that have the rubber bumpers. I have a NA and personally love the rubber bumpers for some reason. I understand how you feel about not ruining it. They are so nice and perfect. You made it look beautiful!!
Ok..glad you back but homie you gotta start your videos of with some music..You always had the best intro music..Good Review of a car that Ive always wanted. We have some good example of some out here on the East Coast as well.. Welcome Back..👍🏽🏁
That is one clean 944. Im gonna have to make a video of s2 convertible that i just bought, super modified 88 turbo engine 44-51 and matching transmission swap. This car is pure track car , you name it this one has it , previous owner told me dyno 380hp , wich im gonna confirm soon. Im still not sure what i bought 😁. Oh and yes KW V3 suspension is sick my has it wich i realized yesterday.
Nice car! Sold my '89 994T for a '09 911S Cab. Wish I had both in my garage. My setup was similar but with MAF and larger turbo. Same Lindsey exhaust and their wastegate. Cheers
perfect car with the turbo upgrade. I only see one flaw, it needs genuine Porsche wheels, preferably the phone dial ones. But it's the perfect car and exactly what the chassis needs, more kick. 10/10 completely jealous!
holy shit what an outstanding 951!!! I love the transaxle cars, well I love all Porsches. I love turbo Porsches even more! there are maybe a handful of Lindsey upgraded cars that really have a driving review and a full overall look at a very tasteful, great specced bitchin' 944 turbo. just a sano car. the value has really jumped on 951's. this is yours huh? upgrade button from volks to better volks. im a Porsche fanatic. im blessed I get to curate my brothers 993 turbo. I'm trying to get him to sell it because its more stressful for him to enjoy because its a 21k car that's as high of 2 condition that is still a driver(maybe once a month and that's criminal. so I'm trying to get him to sell it and buy something he can enjoy and buy me a little something for everything I've put into his car. I'm thinking 951 but they really are a decent bit of money so we'll see but this car here is mega. the mods are tasteful a.f.!! congrats haven't seen much of you so thanks for sharing this I f-ing love it!! cheers
youre are a better man than i!! im selfish i couldnt let somebody borrow it. they are so few and far between to find a clean one the somebody didnt gut out and track it or beat on it. this is just specced perfect and with the period correct parts and the best tasteful mods. no you cant have it ! it mine ! lego my eggo mofo!!@@WheelieCool
There was a nice Turbo S in Georgia with 375HP and a full complement of other mods, white on red. I think $20 or $25k at the time that I almost bought.
Beautiful ride! I have a 86’ 951 as well. Owned 1 year. Love it. I had a Lindsay racing RWHP kit. Like it a lot. Wondering if the 300 is worth it? I believe I’m around 260HP now with the entry kit from Lindsay. Lmk what you think! That exhaust tone is amazing. That’s from the Lindsay kit as well?
What year and series was this? Because in '87 Trans-Am, a 944 was the only car to take a win that wasn't Merkur. The Camaros were more competitive than the Corvettes around then. th-cam.com/video/0qQT7Z_FhLI/w-d-xo.html
@@MR.ROBOT...76 It's all about rules. It seems like they didn't know how to properly match up turbo and NA cars all that well at the time, and Corvettes weren't winning in TransAm. Everyone was getting their asses kicked by turbo Mercury Merkurs with Lima (Pinto) engines in '87
Owned both in the '80s and 84 vet and in 88 944 Turbo S2. I would take the Porsche for anything except a drag race. And even then modified I'll be right on your heels. The handling of a Corvette sucks compared to this car. And the ride suffers as well in the Corvette. Not so in the Porsche. As Larry Cesar said this was the perfect racing car for the General Public. I don't think he's back down on that praise
968s were always up. They never really had a phase like the 928, 924 amd 944 when nobody wanted them and you could get them for a song. I think thw 944s are exactly where they should be except I think the turbos are a bit high. The garden variety 944s are pretty damn slow, byt rhey do look great going slow and of course they handle great even if the body rills way more than we expect sports cars to do now. The turbos aren't exactly 1/4 mile monsters either. What the chassis jas going for ir is gobs of potential. They're fairly light and jave superb balance and I think they're one od rhe best looking cars of the 80s. It looks like what a sports car should look like and the design doesn't appear dated. As much as I sometimes hate to see older cars get their old emfkes tossed out for, what else, an LS swap, this car begs for it though. I hope we don't see the same thing that happened to the air cooled 911s. The 924s are still reasonable but there's not many out there that aren't basket cases or have had a pricey restomod done to them. 928s aren't too bad either but they're pretty far from their lowest market value. If 944s shooting up amd 928s keep going up we'll be left with only one way to get into Porsche ownership-the Boxster, the red headed stepchild of the Porsche world. I like them but not for how they look. They're the current bargain. A mid engined Porsche for under 10k? Sounds like a good deal to me.
Awesome video man! Just saw your video after seeing the car sell on bat today. I'm wondering how much you would charge to do a video of my car, just to have?
Nice 944 buddy, I have the same down in FL in guard’s red. I wanted to ask you about the OZ wheel specs, are they 17”s or 18”? early ET or late with spacers. I hear that if you want 18” you’ll have to do some mods. The only wheels I found in the market that bolt directley without any mods are those 17” BBs LMs from tire rack, but they’re pricey, $4K . Any info will be a great help. Thanks. 👌👍
To each is own! I've always loved these wheels and wanted to put them on one of my cars. BUT there are so many great options for the 944! I honestly love them all haha
You will get a shock if you go to Germany and find many many higher mileage cars there. Its only in the snobbish community where low mileage is worshipped for sales.
You know, I have the exact opposite opinion. The suspension is soft hard to modify, there is hardly any aftermarket support anymore and parts are increasingly hard to find. You missed the boat. Its not a classic, its an antique. Unless you are a fabricator, race shop, mechanic or very rich, stay away.
I love 944. Bought my first one with 163hp in 2003. Last year i bought a 89er Turbo final Edition with 250hp.

You got that sound just right. All you need now is some 968 mirrors and door handles. ;)
That is so clean for an 86! It looks like a hell of a lot of fun to drive

Such a beauty. Owned one 20 years ago... then kids came along. One day I'll get another one.
Great 80s cars are getting scooped up and tucked away. 944 is pure memories of childhood for me!
my favorite porsche out of all, such perfect lines
Best looking 944 I’ve ever seen!
Beautiful car. Great to see you making TH-cam videos again.
That car is so clean! Beautiful! And I love the upswept exhaust tips, such a cool detail!
This thing sounds great, reminds me of the 70/80s Japanese super bikes. Porsches just have that great unique tone with all their motors
Good to see you back and on some of our local roads!
Is that live oak?
WOW, you haven't posted in a long time, welcome back.
I love the 944 so much, classic 80’s looks!

Really great to see you back!
nice dude! always overlooked these, now they are for sure on the radar.
Nice video of a clean 951, seems to be modified in all the right places.
Good to see you back geez ! 👍🏼
Love the 944, I have a 968 engined S2 and a 3.0ltr turbo, awesome cars
Hey Stu love the video. Always loved your style, I hope you're going to continue making videos, and damn do I miss your Corrado.
I had a 1992 968, loved it. Would love to have a car just like your turbo!
944 so underrated vs 968, sounds superb, makes me want one and I have a 911.
Had a near perfect 968. Worst car I’ve owned and it sounded like a sewing machine. Be glad you don’t own one.
@@b717 did you smoke s.th.....?😜

THANK YOU!!!!
Sounds amazing! I got an 85 N/A but always wanted the turbo. Maybe next time!
Cada año que pasa, el 944 rejuvenece, y este en particular está impresionante 👍👍
im so glad im working on one with my father. being 14 rn i want to get into cars and stuff instead of games
This car is for sale now on Bring a Trailer
One of my grail Porsche cars, love the pop-up headlights 😎
I feel the same way!
What an absolute treat!

rly nice tuning sound ....no stupid bangs all the time
I've always loved these! I'll get me one some day
OZ Futura look good on almost anything. Simple 5 spoke design multi piece wheel to vary widths and lip/barrel size
Nice looking 944
Excellent, excellent video man!
Much appreciated!
Wow this is a sweet car man. Hope it brings you some good money on BAT!
Welcome back
Thanks! Great to be back bro!
Beautiful car.
That's why I own two of them 944 turbos
Never liked these but somehow adored the 928. I have issues.
The sound. Like an angry snake. Love it. I have an 87 turbo also..in white. Really like that color. More details on the LR kit…what size turbo. 27/9?

dope ass car
Nice car....noticed your shifter has a fair bit of movement....possible engine mounts and shifter needs a rebuild..
Great review 🙌🏽
I live on that canyon. Weird to watch a video of a car driving past my house.
Ich liebe den 944

This car was built to compete with Corvette but went 0-29 vs Corvette in SCCA racing. Porsche quickly realized the Vette were on par with the 928.
Now way a four cylinder Porsche was suppose to compete with Corvette 😅

DDDAAAMMMNNN!! this is nice I like this
That canyon looks familiar
Beautiful body, gorgeous colour & interior, but the tacky wheels really let it down.
Rocking Borbet wheels?
Is the exhaust a straight throw?
Sounds fantastic
Where did you get that exhaust?. I need that on mine. Thanks.
THANKS! It is the linsey Racing exhaust with a Borla silencer and a Megan Racing dual up-swept exhaust tips.
What are those specific wheels called? Like what model?
"Where havvvvve you been?!"
my dream car is a 1987 944S, were you driving on live oak canyon?
Very nice car, but the wheels are not my favorite. Personally, I'm a fan of the OEM turbine wheels. BUT, these make it unique, so rock on!
To each is own! I've always loved these wheels and wanted to put them on one of my cars. BUT there are so many great options for the 944! I honestly love them all haha
What rims are those !!!!
Have you lowerd the car? or have you just put on the new wheels?
Beautiful car. However, I don't think I could deal with that boost sound that really sounds more like a vacuum leak than a spooling turbo.
very nice
Thanks!!
How did you like the 944 vs your old Corrado?
stock turbo?
Stu did you say your selling this car?
Where the F have you been.Wheelie cool to see you.
❤❤❤❤❤
Makes me miss my 1989 944S in the same Velvet Red color
What paint color is it ?
Are you sure about selling it? You are selling what I am keeping. best wishes from a Corrado and 944 owner located in Taiwan
I have lectric issues on mine.
Fixed it. Now it runs great. 🎉
Porsche phased the lineup out as there was too much competition to the 911 at a fraction of the price.
Well you sold me
You will get a shock if you go to Germany and find many many higher mileage cars there. Its only in the snobbish community where low mileage is worshipped for sales.
I owned an 86 951 in the mid 1990’s & they’re not good on gas if you’re in the throttle brah 🤨
