- We have built a full size library in DolDol Kenya, and THANKS DO YOUR donation we have collected more than 19,000 books!! See the books we collected here: • DON'T SEND ANY MORE!!!
We need kids books, novels for teenagers, textbooks, educational books, encyclopedias... anything and everything. Please no diet books or recipe books.
You can send new or used books! Just make sure they aren't falling apart. The books have to arrive within the first week of August 2024, or they will miss the boat!! You can also drop off the books in person - someone will be there to receive them.

I'm ashamed that I'm at a point in my life that I can't do more for kids of the world. I just got paid and I'm out... I'm actually donated plasma so I can afford more of our bills. We are trying to pay for a wedding and it's so tight because I don't have any family and hers is in Mexico and most aren't well off. However, when I die someday I'd rather be reminded of what I could do with the shirt on my back rather than be reminded of what I did with the shirts around me. Even if this just buys you a bottle of water, I hope it helps to the efforts. You guys are amazing people and the less fortunate are blessed you exist.

It probably would help to cut down the shipping cost and probably help to add more books.
@@bonifacekagika1117 Cheapest way is as he's doing, you really cant get any cheaper than cargo containers. They take time but comparatively they're dirt cheap for the amount it moves. It also makes decontamination easier with the mites and other organisms that live on books that you don't want to introduce to Kenya

Sorry, but library in Kenya is the last thing they need. They could have just given old android tablets with million books in usb with far cheaper. They need things bit more sustainable, like equipment to aggregate the farm, even better if there drinkable clean water source like Well, or water reservoir for livestocks etc...

As a Kenyan, this was very touching. I fondly remember my high school library. I read almost the entire fiction collection, and had the epiphany that books are superior to movies. It helped me to improve my grasp of the English language, as well as my imagination. I am excited for the next generation to experience the thrill of finishing a good book. You guys are true heroes, and I wish you all the blessings moving forward.
I have to agree with you. Some of the most intense moments are when you are deep into a good book and can't put it down, staying up late at night just to see what happens next. And the bitter sweet moments are when you finish it haha
