The Asian Tour is another avenue that LIV players have taken for OWGR points as well as the Japan Tour. I saw an article this morning regarding rumors that Greg Norman is going to be replaced as the LIV Tour CEO. He may be an obstacle to LIV making changes towards being able to be eligible for OWGR points due to his crusade to 'stick it' to the PGA Tour. Also, bear in mind that the U.S. Dept. Of Justice is involved in the negotiations between the Tour and LIV. That can't do anything but slow things down.

These contradiction games are still going on here ?
Everyone cares. Everyone wants to play the majors.
But the fact is the owgr is a joke. Some guys are in a position to work with the owgr nonsense but increasingly many are not. So they are giving up more and more. This will continue to be a problem for LIv, but a bigger problem for the credibility of the owgr.
Keep in mind a Huge reason Cam went to LIv is to have more time at home and play his local Aussie events. That’s exactly what he’s doing.
Niemann never said he wanted a light schedule. Niemann seems like a guy who could play 49 events a year. He went to LIv for his own reasons, I think the idea of Torque being 4 best friends played a huge part for him.
Many guys never said they just wanted to play less than 2o events.
The key to remember is if a player makes a fortune for 14 events compared to less money for 30, it’s always worth it.
How they fill the rest of the year-tournaments for some, free time for others- is up to them.
DJ did say something about playing less. And I’m not sure about you but I don’t see him playing much outside of LIv and majors. But that could change as his kids get older and stuff.
Sergio is so elite right now it’s not even funny. He should be inside the top 25. He obviously has that rider cup passion and will do what he has to do.
That being said Sergio and Rahm and hatton and others need to refuse to pay fines to be able to rep their continent in the Ryder cup. It’s an important precedent for future players. They already don’t get paid, but to succumb to paying would be a big win for the man, and a huge loss for the talent moving forward.
The big thing players want imo is bigger breaks from each tour. LIv gives them that. Not only during the season but also a long offseason. On the other hand Tour continues to be never ending for everyone but 5o guys. And the schedule during the season is still grueling for everyone including the top 5o.
In general most young players want to play 30 events but as they get to that age they have kids they want to time it down if they can; only to then ramp it up again once the kids are doing their own things.
