I buy bases in 5 stars hotels so I could spend 45 days in each place in a year, renting them out for the rest of the time. By now I got Playa del Carmen, Batumi, Tulum and Bansko. Considering buying something in Panama, Johor or Batam, Antalia region and Dubai before I retire. Great job Andrew.

Well said, Andrew. I agree that being able to knock down walls, put nails in the wall, redo the kitchen, etc are big reasons to want to own a home. Also, perhaps the value won't skyrocket (even ever), but if it's in a city center or the beach, and you ENJOY the location, that is absolutely a benefit, regardless of the monetary value. Does it improve your life? Does it make you feel good to spend time there? That's what the real question should be.

Interesting strategy. I've tended to think that ownership is a P.I.T.A. because each owned home must be maintained, secured, etc. How do you handle that in homes around the world? Have you ever returned to a home to find it not as you left it?

Only this month, I’ve looked for homes in Macau, Canada (Montreal) , the Philippines and now I’m back in my home base in Singapore (my wife is a national). I am moved by every single of your video, they really reflect the highest standards I am longing for for years. How come you channel is growing so slowly while some hippies with little to no value proposition are thriving on TH-cam is beyond me.

Good stuff Andrew, I'm also considering South America for residency/citizenship, the best overall deal appears to be Ecuador in terms of permanent residence after 2 years and citizenship 3 years later with hardly any required time spent there after a $40,000 investment in a bank account or real estate, their passport is one of the few which allows visa free travel to Russia, China and Turkey also and no tax on foreign income if you become a resident there, cheers.

    • @cr6129
      @cr6129 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’ve never been to Ecuador, but from what I heard, you really need to spend like 9 months per year in the country until you get your citizenship? I’m not sure if you can just put in 40k and leave? I don’t know If they will actually check your days in the country ? What else have you heard about it ?

I do have one question though: how do you manage your residential properties when you are away?

Not renting out a property might seem crazy at first, but keep in mind in some countries it will complicate your taxes and will have to pay because it’s income earned within that countries’ borders. Like Mexico for example. Smart! Thanks Mr. H 👍🏽

  • @bernardwang3243

Andrew, this idea is completely unpractical. It sounds so cool and very romantic for someone who ...never tried it. I kept three places on three different continents travelling between them. After 4 years of doing it I finally said "enough" as keeping two households, maintaining all three of them paying three car insurances, property taxes (even tiny ones), electric bills, internet bills, etc. etc. was not really worth it. The only advantage of that was that after all that time I realized I liked one of them more than the others. I am totally with you Andrew about most of the things you say. But sometimes you over-do it. I have no doubt that in few years you will realize that living in those 3 places is not that great thing. You may shrink it to just 2 places or even only one.
    But great video anyway

I’d love to see a video of how someone can legally reduce their taxes and much they could reduce them by for an online business by living in one European country (in my case Spain) full time.

I have traveled quite a bit, not near as much as you, but I have found myself at a plateau and just tired of new beds and temporary places. I want to thank you for your videos, insight and all the footwork you have done to create this content. I know I want Tokyo to be my 1st Trifecta, it actually is extremely affordable and safe, especially for someone with residency in the healthcare system despite the rumors. I think Dublin would be another great one since getting Irish citizenship as a dual citizen is easy having Irish Heritage and would be a great platform for investing in the entire European market. The United States would be a good 3rd base since I am an American Citizen and would be convenient. Due to the increasing dysfunction and unrest in the US, I would make it 3rd on my list of three.

And a different question - you set this plan for yourself based on your idea of a single young person, ie perpetual traveller, and its easy when you re single. But in few years you ll be married, have kids, and they will need a stability, one school to go to, one language to learn at a time, etc. I understand that pre school or primary school could be done in one country and secondary or a high school could be in another country, but still need one stable place for kids to have less stress. What would be your best approach to this issue and which countries you could live in or recommend to keep all those tax free perks, safe n clean environment and well developed urban city infrastructure like KL, Istambul, Moscow or Singapore could offer to a family with kids..?

I love your idea. I hope to get to that level. Getting second passport through my father’s country of birth which will allow me to purchase property in that country. That is step one. Malaysia is on my radar. I love Asia and Southeast Asia but seems like KL is a good location with proximity to everything. Would love to land in a location knowing I could stay in my own home, with my own things set up the way I want and ready to go. Great advice. Still deciding on a 3rd. I’ve always loved Europe but still have many more places to explore to define the right country. Like you said, you have to take into consideration their taxation laws including wealth tax.

Thank you as always for some stimulating thoughts. I have a problem with the trifecta concept when it comes to tax residence. If you want to be tax resident somewhere (I do, and I guess others may) then you typically need to be there for 183 days, ie half the year. This leads either to a lopsided trifecta (180+90+90) or perhaps a bifecta (183+182). I guess this can be worked out though.

I would rather have just one home and everything else invest in something liquid like stocks (growth stocks and dividend stocks for cash flow), bonds and of course crypto. I'm not big fan of real estate.

The intro is horrible, but the content is an absolute MASTERPIECE! You are speaking exactly my language telling about "core homes". I spent almost 3 entire years exclusively in hotels and that made me dream of building real homes in different countries.

    How do you “create wealth”?

You don't. You create "health" , meaning the ability to save more of your energy per unit of time thereby expanding your life expectancy.

What does management look like for multiple properties in different countries? Property management standards for investment homes in the US vary greatly - same elsewhere?

The hoa and upkeep cost is quite high for any property. It could be an ideal situation if airbnb is legal.

HOA costs can vary profusely depending on which country or area the property is in, in certain coastal areas of Australia you'll get totally screwed on HOA and have to pay thousands on property tax and water usage on top of that, in other countries you can find HOA charges of just a few hundred dollars per year and even less in property tax.

Andrew, you definitely have enough extra cash to keep on buying homes but to me it sounds suboptimal. There are far better places and opportunities to put your money and earn high double digit annual returns. I understand tier 1 core 2 homes .there is no residency and hence tax if you live less than 180 days in a place which is your situation anyways. If you and your clients are earn above 200k per year there are far better ways to put your money to work

What if you’re income right now couldn’t support investing in your tier A property, is there any reason investing in a tier c or d place first isn’t a good idea? For example, I’m looking at some of the more rural areas of Montenegro, not too far from the coast but just far enough I could afford a decent place to work from home with a little land. Eventually I’d like to invest in enough property for some of these buy in citizenship places like Montenegro or Turkey but I’m just not there yet. Point is, I would prefer not to drain endless money into California rent while I build my biz.
