Pontus, you, I and all of her fans know there is absolutely no one singing like this, no one in the music industry is even close. The next song she sings at this venue, Bad Valentine is a stunner. As only Angelina can do, she performs the two songs in completely different singing styles.
My opinion on Angelina having her shoes on is that's it's a small, close quarters stage with cords and equipment to step on. Her shoes are on for safety reasons.

For years I've been waiting for Angelina to have her commercial breakthrough, which will only happen when she really starts attracting the younger audiences and gets properly launched for the younger age groups. Otherwise, she will forever be stuck in this mausoleum - or dolls house, where her career will never really take off. Being sellable is an absolute necessity if you want to survive in this business. For the last 10 years Angelina's fan group has consisted mainly of older people. Nothing wrong with that, but she desperately needs to be heard and seen by the 20-40 years old too.

That was phenomenal...How good is she as a vocalist and performer.....when are they going to get serious about videos and recordings for this amazing talent. I was also very pleased that the piano and strings arrangement allowed her voice to really be front and center rather than competing with the instrumentation. I really loved this performance....thank you so much...

Other recordings were made in a 24hour replay period. Good thing LA earthquake codes likely extend to roofs, or the Hotel Cafe roof may have blown straight off with these 2 performances !

It looks like this is kind of a "try out" performance because anyone is so pleasantly informal. When they performed it a few days after in London (there is a video of that on TH-cam as well) Angelina was barefoot: she sticks on her promise made 12 years ago. And what a wonderful rendition of this song it is. Well, when the specialists are at work we kind of expect it now, aren't we?

I have 2 theories about why she's wearing shoes. My first theory is that the venue didn't allow it for some reason. My second theory is that Angelina saw this as a practice/rehearsal for the main performance at the London Palladium, so this performance for her isn't the big live performance which was going to be in London. I was curious about the shoes & asked the same question on another reaction. Someone commented that this venue serves food so you have to wear shoes. I don't know whether that's true, but it's plausible. As usual. I prefer Angelina's version over the original by Beyonce. Thanks Pontus for another good one!

As someone whose family has owned a restaurant and have known many friends that have owned restaurants, it is a practice that has been done for years and years, even though there is no official state or federal law about being bare feet in a restaurant. The phrase, "No shirt, no shoes, no service," is often quoted by these types of places. Again, there are no laws against this, however, businesses have a right to set their own rules for service. The right to refuse service is now an accepted norm, as is the phrase. So, it all depends on the place of business. Some places don't care, some are a little laid back on it, and some are really strict...I've seen them all. I wouldn't be surprised if this venue wanted her to keep her shoes on for this, regardless if she is a customer or performer.....

Nice reaction Pontus! In regards to the shoes, it's more than likely that this was the venue that decided this. Normally, places like a restaurant/cafe/food service types of businesses enforce a practice called, "no shirt, no shoes, no service." Some places are really strict, some are laid back with it. I see it as partially due to safety reasons because the stage is kind of small and there are wires on the ground. Another reason I've heard other Angels say is that this wasn't really a formal performance. Whatever the specific reason, I feel she had to keep them on. When she and Toby did go to London to perform at The Other Songs event, she was on stage with no shoes....

There may be several reasons why Angelina is wearing shoes in this performance - it is possible that the venue does not allow bare feet or that this is just an informal performance that Angelina does not consider a full-on stage performance.
