Around 25 years ago my mother wanted to visit California so I spent weeks planning a trip down Highway 1 booking hotels etc. The trip started in SFO and the first part went ok until on leaving our first trip hotel we where told the highway was closed due a rock slide so had to find an alternative route inland and rejoin the highway around Morro bay. So missed a lot of that beautiful scenery

A beach is much better than boring suburban RV parks.
We lived there for 2 years…. Absolutely loved this part of CA !!! Mont Shasta is another amazing place !!!

Holy moly This was when we were there. I ssee are Newaire 3543 in the shots. There was some other guy there with his channel also. Hee was in the little mercedes silver. wow small world.
It looks like the camping life is a little quiet compared to the sailing life. I guess it would be more fun if you had someone to share your adventures with. I think a lot of the full time campers are a little older and retired. They seem to know where all the deals on campgrounds and decent restaurants are too. I guess California isn’t a good spot for camping, and sightseeing right now because of the fires and drought they’re having. You’re doing a great job entertaining us Bobby and thanks for taking us along on your adventures. 👍
Great trip… we usually spend time in San Simeon, visit Hearst Castle etc… Always good fun and interesting.
Bobby- I live in Cayucos (just north of Morro Bay). I'm surprised you couldn't get into the Morro Bay (Morro Strand) campground. I thought it was open.
Been following you on Sailing Doodles for last few years. Too bad, I didn't know when you were coming through. Would of liked to have a beer with you. I learned to kitesurf @ Oceano. Your lucky you were able to get access down on the sand. The enviroNazi's have been waging a war to get the beach shut down from all offroaders, ATV's & Campers. In the spring, it is very windy and it kicks up a lot of sand to the towns just downwind.
The sound of that freeway just lulls you to sleep...
I have watched your sailing channel which is great..being a Airstream owner we have done your route several years ago. Malibu was not bad for a 19’ Bambi..the view great as you say. You are doing a really good work on your videos and music. Be safe

I stayed there in March this year. Just a fee spaces from where you are. Great place to wake up. I was just going to do one night… ended up staying 2 since it was so nice. They were ok with my 2000 truck caper that I redid. Just had to send photos as well.

Every October this park hosts a vintage travel trailer meet up. It was fun walking around with a glass of wine touring the different setups. Great place.
All the ocean views are fantastic. However, the hills at the Malibu beach RV park look bald and bland like a desert. The landscaping of trees lining the RV park looks great. Thank you for the awesome videos.
They had a horriffic fire 2 years back. We just stayed there

If you make it down to Dana Point, there is a camping site on the ocean next to a Marina too.... If you make it down, contact me and my wife and I would enjoy taking you to dinner in the dana point harbor or Laguna Beach.... Great job on videos.
Try the desert. You can camp for free with no reservations. Plenty to explore in Cali.

Bobby, I think this channel will be great once Covid ends; then you'll have the chance to go out and meet other RV'ers and get the full on effects of "Glamping" or RV'ing....show off different rigs, places to go, and such....still like this inclusion of Glamping in the "Doodles" network! Keep up the great videos!
I disagree. RV camping demographics are generally not the luxury crowd but the opposite. Senior Americans trying to live off social security. GLAMPING involved extreme luxury accommodations with butlers. Also Bobby needs a crew of gorgeous girls, however, I doubt such young ladies would give a big thumbs down to the RV life…..
I envy you with the RV, just get up & go, an extension to your home wherever that may be 🇬🇧
I thought I had you trumped on price 😂. We have some amazing RV parks on the coast up here in Oregon, but it's a much different experience of course! Not much swimming in the ocean up here but great storm watching 😉. Happy to see this channel is continuing, enjoy watching all of your channels!

Visit Mavericks, Lower Trestles, park away from high tide zone. Learn to surf or body board, I’ve surf since 1965, 67 yrsold now with triple bypass still ripping at old mans, CR, snapper rocks, lower, Hatter.

I have a friend that lives in Pismo beach I've been where you are a couple dozen times what a great choice I never thought you would ever be at Pismo beach my favorite place to camp on the beach not sure where your headed but if you get a chance go visit glamis national sand dune park you will never see anything like it in your life it's like your on the moon lol

35 years ago, that whole Highway 101 down the central to southern California coast was so green. Everything looks so dry and dead now.
It's the end of summer, it always is dry in September October. It's green in the spring.

I know I've already said this before but a great campsite would be in north San Diego county in Carlsbad campground. Right on the beach. And my son Johnny also does sailing in mission Bay. And could probably hook you up with sailing in the in the bay or out in the ocean off of San Diego. Just a heads up. Let me know. He also works for a company that makes sales for sailboats. Just so you know here in San Diego.

i took my motorcycle all the way up 1 to 101 all the way to washington with nothing more than a sack of weed and my toothbrush, i cooked hotdogs and stuff over a campfire and had a great time all by my self for a little over 3 weeks.

at $280 a night you'd think they would have a pool, tennis courts, rec room and golf course, my dad was staying places in Arizona for that/month

Bad luck with US Park camping not available, the beach camping ended up better and is really amazing.

Your mentioning of the current trend of restricting RV park usage because because of the age of your rig, really seems wrong in so many ways! However, with so many people living full time in their mobile vehicles, plus those owners not having much “pride of ownership” attitudes, you cannot blame the camp owners from having these rules. Many of the parks we visited across America this year, have many “full timers” using their less restricted parks and parking them toward the rear, hiding them from street view. These folks usually have large propane tanks and even gardens planted! You may also find workers staying in their rigs due to very long term projects they are employed at because it is less costly than renting an apartment.

The traveling vloggers I watch camp off grid in very remote areas not in rv parks. If you are just driving from park to park you might just as well stay in hotels. The thing is self contained for a reason. I'm sorry but I'm not feeling your new channel.
