Please only send campaigns/battles on large or ultra unit scale. Normal and small unit scale will not be accepted. Not currently accepting Realm of Chaos campaigns/battles.

The one thing that's always bothered me is that there are no generic Savage orc lords. Can't make a nice thematic army.
I just did a wurrzag campaign with the expanded roster greenskins mod which I can recommend, as it adds a couple of extra savage orc weapon types, a savage giant variant, savage orc lord and savage orc big boss.

Just one of the factions that still have missing lord and hero types. Skaven still need a warlock engineer lord, lizardmen missing a kroxigor or chameleon skink type lord, etc

There is actually a specific reason to play as Wurrzag's faction: they get the savage orc military building by default, whereas for every other greenskin they need to build it on regions that have the savage orc resource icon, only found in the badlands (that's what the red skulls next to the settlements indicate)

They also don't play very differently from the non savage version.
If you play as Grom, you won't really need them at all, and if you play as Skarsnik what you'll really need is a hug and to rethink your life.

@@NyJoanzy I found skarsnik to be really strong in his new starting location. Was only on hard but he really just overwhelmed everything with numbers for me
5:12 His faction can build savage orc buildings anywhere, you could say that that's his mechanic, and unique scrap upgrades for them.
If it weren't for these campaign reviews I would never have given throgg a shot in WH3 and its now legit my favourite campaign. Loving these.

Probably the best campaign review so far.
You covered the start, possible expansion routes, early enemies, faction strength, leader strength, faction in comparison to similar factions, and difficulty scaling.
Holy shit, i just realized that the leader of Top-Knotz is actually a reference to Joe Abercrombie's character "Logen Ninefingers"

Wurrzag was my first Greenskin Lord - and I had a *lot* of fun rolling over everything with Savage Orcs and Foot of Gork! Dampened only because the Badlands are a hellhole like I've never seen since the days of Warhammer 2 Lustria.

Going south for the Lizardmen waagh trophy was my approach for this campaign. Tlaqua was in the top ten strength ranking so I took advantage of that for those juicy trophy bonuses (physical resistance and recruit rank).
yikes, in terms of physical resist that's
25% on Savage Orcs by default
15% from the trophy
20% from Wurrzag's lord trait
and 5% from one of Wurrzag's skills
for a total of 65% physical resist on all Wurrzag's Savage Orcs, that's almost as good as game 2's ethereal units
most of your monstrous units will be up at 40% and even your regular orc boys will at least have 20%
his WAAAGH buffs this up with an extra 22% giving the Savage Orcs 87% (just short of the cap), the monsters 62% and the rest of his army's units 42%
of course Daemons (and other magical attackers) will utterly shred the Savage Orcs due to their lack of armour but at least Wurrzag gives his army magical attacks so that the Savage Orcs can shred them in return.
at least that recruit rank will help you to get up to the rank requirement for 'Ard Ladz for 8% ward save (getting the Savage Orcs up to the resistance cap during a WAAAGH) and 12 armour, it's not much but it's better than nothing
holy shit! I just realized the faction leader is called Logen Ninefingers lol. The Bloody Nine himself! Almost 3k hours into wh2 and wh3 and never saw that. Great shoutout to a great book series. Re-read it multiple times.
Wurrzag was my first ever back in Total War Warhammer 1, I would love to see Queek next :)
I really like the "not like the other girls" lords, that invite a very different playstyle. I am interested in going for a Skarsnik campain, so naturally, I would really like to see a video about him :)

This was one of my 1st long campaign victories. Savage orcs a are sooooo strong early game and still good mid game giving you plenty of time to build a big empire early and then defend it into the end game

I don't really Greenskin, but the highest Greenskin I got was Grom the Paunch to Turn 70. He's really easy to Confederate on Hard difficulty. Just Turn 1, ignore everything, force march toward Wurrzag right off the bat. Was able to confederate Wurzag at lvl5, which is the lowest level confed for some. From Wurzag, run to Skarknik, then Azhag, and finally a Grimgor, which I confedded at lvl22 or so.

Cover Death Master that could be an interesting one since with his contract stuff you can't really get all units cheap as one Clan likes you then another gets pissed off.

The charge bonus is a flat +25 for savage ork units, not +25%
Petition to make savage Orks dlc that would make wurzzag a savage ork, the only one that would be able to confederate both sophisticated dwarfs' holds dwellers and those ravages savages.
I wanted true playable savage Orks since Warhammer 1 :(
Wurrzag is just a cheap knock-off so far but it doesn't have to be that way. CA just needs to put a little work on this, some little coding and be done with nothing else to be added even as flc.

Too bad he don't have unique generic Lord type for Savage Orc specifically.
If you haven't done one for him already, do one for Rakarth. Up until I ran into those Cult of Ecstasy overhaul mods for Morathi, he was my favorite Dark Elf faction leader.

Hey! Seems like you're enjoying these types of videos, Legend. If so, I thought about videos about the different army options for factions too. Might be fun.
I know you don't want to say what units to play, or how to play because it's up to the player to decide what's fun. But it could be fun to show some options for every lord type.
Does Wurrzag’s savage orc Lord/faction bonuses work for all savage orc types e.g. savage orc big uns? Or is it just for regular savage orcs
Wurrzag has always been a really chill campaign imo, I love lords that can make mediocre units into powerhouses. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on Arkhan in IE, given he had one of the rougher campaign starts in ME.
arkhan's campaign is a lot better in twwh3. he starts being able to recruit another army, so you can steamroll pretty hard early

Wurrag is so fun to play. An army of unstopable savage orc feels so nice to play.
I love the Wurrzag campaign but I had no idea about that turn 1 trick to get the confed that early 🤯
Wurzag is a great legendary lord but his faction is not good at all and rather undone
He is the only savage orc lord that greenskins has to offer and there is no other savage lord lord or shamans in their roster
Really wish Wurzag had a unique mechanic. Oh well.

You can just snowball so hard with Wurrzag. By the time the end game crisis came around I could pump out a full 20 stack of blackorcs/stone trolls/spiders with a level 30 lord in 1 turn.
Your first few campaign reviews were pretty short and undetailed. Will you be remaking them?
On WH2 I played all my Campaigns on Hard or Very Hard but for RoC Katarina I had to start on Normal and even that can be complete cancer. The Vampires and Orgres Stomping the useless Empire, Valkia, Festus, Vilitch, Legion of Chaos, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Khorne and their vassals all at war with you super early on. This can also get worse like my Campaign where Kostalyn decided to declare war on Ostermark?? Then the Vamp Counts but leave the Capital still standing because they are now at war with the ogres, Lose all their armies and then Chaos spills in from the North all before my Tier V City was built. The biggest Issue is barely any are at war with each other except Khorne and Slaanesh so they all declare war on my ass.
Personally I've found that it's just easier to play Skarsnik and confederate him, since you have to go there anyway due to Karak eight peaks being next to his start.
Bloody Handz was my first long campaign victory. Wurrzag is an absolute beast.
Wurzag is awesome now with deamons in the game and proper chaos. Get the magical attacks on army trait and send your army of psycho naked war painted Stone Age orcs to go murder legions of deamons and chaos warriors alike. Fucking awesome

nice! was going to request this one since I just hit long campaign victory (very hard) with Wurrzag and had a blast playing it! Never really liked the greenskins in WH2, but this campaign was a really good one.
One of the funniest campaigns in the game. Played it several times while playing Grimgor literally once. If someone is looking just for joy alone of smashing your enemies (mostly dwarfs tho) with magical foot then this is their campaign.
Warzag is just a nuke on legs^^ his foot of gork just hurts bad. In regards to the special waaaghs i say you're right ish. Grimgork and azhag get black orks and wyverns Wich is a big deal especially during early waaaghs against dwarfes
Logen Ninefingers. Now I see where they got inspiration for that confederation mechanic with duels.
Wurzag has some fun effects
Each minor settlement on rank three gives a few percent of replenishment for savage orcs and each major settlement gives additional leadership when fighting other greenskins
He also gets the savage orc building globally, as opposed to a regional landmark
Also each greenskin lord with the exception of Grom has an unique scrap upgrade as part of their faction mechanics, in Wurzag's case it's missile resistance for savage orc units
Interestingly enough, I find this campaign to one of the hardest ever, mainly because it always ends with the whole world against me. I've tried this campaign a few times on legendary/normal battles and it always end this way, with enemies sending armies from all sides in order to destroy my settlements. Last time was pretty hilarious because Ikit Claw declared war against me and spent all his time sending armies against me... alongside Belegar and various other lors around. And because he wasn't at war with Belegar, he even supported him in battle when both their armies were close.

I never get tired of these
I don't play a lot of greenskins, but it makes me a little sad that it feels like if I'm not playing as Grom the Paunch and confederating then I'm not playing optimally, kinda makes me wish the other lords had more interesting or strong reasons to start off with their factions over his (because his cauldron mechanic is so damn powerful)
I probably just keep missing LegendofTotalWar but when does he stream been wanting to catch a stream but can't seem to, only getting notification of these campaign reviews.
one of the good things about wurrzag's campaign in tww2 was that he could declare a waagh on kroq gar pretty early and get "da biggest scalies" trophy which gave like 15% phys res i think. that was really good for your savage orcs. that's much harder to do now, plus the badlands is the thunderdome now, which makes it a slog. i think his tww2 campaign might have been better.
One of the few LL I’ll never put on their mount. You either Fortnite dance or your Fortnite danced on. Wurrzag taught me that
he needs his zoomy boy though as he is terrible in combat, you need him running around the battlefield away from trouble and casting sweaty feet of gork.
