We shouldn't forget is possible to do Valor LS Guard Point even when the weapon is sheathed by pressing R+X+A, just like as you did at 0:21. Good tutorial, may seem short but after all the "theory part" of Guard Pointing is simple. Practice and learning monster moves is the most important part, as you said. pro tips when you counter glavenus' spin attack stay turned in relation to him because you will chain with a combo like counter -> R -> R -> XA or something like that
you can parry twice without having to move or roll, after the first parry press A to perform a stab and then press R again, it should trigger another parry but the window is shorter than the first one, so you need to time it properly, this is specially useful against valstrax double stab move.
I suppose lag Is not a thing In MHGU, right? I play the MHXX version on the new 3DS, and even If playing solo, lag Is still a thing that shouldn't be (I suppose I got a defect version >.
I put about 2k hours on the mhxx(played english patched with plugin,the plugin did help abit with framerate),I stopped playing because my 3ds packed up. Anyways playing solo is quite smooth but on multiplayer your are correct about guard pointing little bit earlier

I learned guard points couple month ago and it is the most satisfying move in all of the monster hunter series
Not as satisfying as doing a iai spirit slash and killing fatalis when he lunges at you
50 hours into LS and realised I can do this, I feel so powerful all of the sudden

You're welcome! Just practice by playing valor long sword more often and you'll eventually master it.

Hello. How to reset the guard point without going to 2nd R(the swipe slash or running slash)? I saw some players doing it. But Idk how to do it.
Do some other move after the guardpoint that interrupts the R Combo. Roll for example.

No. The Gen version does not even have the Valor Style.

It's misleading to use "guard point". It's preferable to call it a "parry" or "counter" since longsword technically does not come with a shield. 😄

The "spark" is the guard point.
You don’t need a sheild to guard, example you can guard yourself with your hands. A sheild is just better.
