The exact position of the lines was not known. It can only be assumed from eye witness reports from the time (no GPS back then) and from the limited archaeological investigations that have taken place since. The more recent and more technologically advanced archaeology led to them deciding the lines on the battlefield (pre-2007) were not in the correct position. Hence, when they remodelled the site in 2007/8 they moved the lines.
