DEEP into POKOTLAND! Defying Fear at Kapedo & Silale Crater in the Fearless Expedition!

- Relive the awe-inspiring roadtrip that unfolded after our unforgettable mountains-filled expedition last June in the North Rift region of Kenya. From Nairobi to Nakuru, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties, our path took us on a rollercoaster ride of breathtaking vistas, heart-pounding moments, and unforgettable encounters.
In this Part 3 of a 3-part video series, after venturing into the uncharted territory of Kapedo and enjoying the hospitality of the fierce and proud Turkana people. A journey of courage and resilience, we navigated the tough landscapes with a sense of awe, honoring the spirit of the land and its inhabitants.
As we traversed the fearsome and regal Pokot folks' land, we were drawn to the colossal majesty of Mt. Silale - a massive caldera hidden in the heart of Pokot territory. Its ancient mysteries and epic vistas left us humbled and awestruck.
The trip continued to the tranquil shores of Lake Baringo and the captivating Lake Bogoria. Amidst these natural wonders, we discovered the rare gem of Netbon Kudu - one of Kenya's three natural blue pools and spas. The ethereal blue waters offered a soothing escape, like stepping into a dream.
Our journey was a kaleidoscope of experiences - from the unique sensation of swimming under the only hot waterfall in Kenya (Kapedo Waterfall) to the dusty climb of the rugged Mt. Silale, the thrill of encountering the elusive Mt. Paka, and the unexpected bee-chase that added a touch of excitement at Silale Crater.
Our odyssey led us to the most beautiful wild campsite at Silale, a haven of tranquility that seemed untouched by time. The captivating sunset over Silale Crater rim painted the sky in hues of gold, creating a moment that etched itself into our memories.
Sharing stories with Pokot warriors who took their livestock to graze within the embrace of the massive Silale Caldera, we glimpsed the deep cultural roots of the land. The serenity of Silale and its dreamless nights left us connected to nature's embrace and the whispers of the past.
The journey continued to Lake Bogoria, where the shores came alive with the presence of hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of pink lesser flamingos, a living testament to the marvels of the natural world.
In the heart of it all, we met the extraordinary Turkana and Pokot people - guardians of these landscapes. Their warmth, stories, and enduring spirit showcased a different facet of Kenya, one that's often overlooked.
Relive the excitement, the serenity, the thrill, and the awe through this captivating video. It's an invitation to embark on a journey that transcends the ordinary, to witness Kenya's hidden wonders, and to connect with the spirit of the land and its people.

Pokot is a very peaceful place, I've seen ten's of people come into our land with negative attitude but leave with changed mind. We still have our challenges and bad sides but we tend not to disturb visitors. Welcome again I live along Chemolingot- Tot at a place known as Koloa.
We totally agree with you!! The Pokot people are amazing, friendly, resilient, warm, kind and many more things! We had an awesome time with them. We never even for a single minute felt unsafe. Its other people who made us very apprehensive about Pokots and this fear vanished when we met them. As you have seen everywhere in the video, we laughed, cracked jokes, shared stories with old women, wazee, warriors, young herders, everyone. We are very happy to have shown this amazing side of the Pokots that no one shows. We were excited to experience their unique charm firsthand. We shall continue breaking down the negative stereotypes about them and let people know how great they are. Looking forward to connecting and immersing ourselves in the beauty of Pokot. See you soon! 🙌
@@TheMaraNomads1920MN thanks again. Welcome again, hope next time you come with the whole group I'll be standing by the road waiting for you guys.
Most tribes are friendly people. Its the circumstances and situational environment they find themselves in whereby each one of them have to protect their territory and way of living. So when this is transmitted in the news we get the impression of what a violent tribe or tribes they are. Am sure they are friendly folk to visitors whom they see as no threat to their way of life.
@@daviddavis7959 alafu pia local tribes iko na hatred for centuries such they don't see the good side of their neighbors.
This channel just emphasises how truly beautiful Kenya is...your Tsavo's and Amboseli's that are marketed to the world barely scratch the surface of what's on offer.Thank you for igniting the fire within to channel our inner nomads.

Sunrise so epic, and Silale so simple, so scenic and everything else! We want to go back so bad!
My name is Nokia ...connecting people is my new pick up line
😂😂 Its such a cool pick up line!
Silale "crater" sorry wait "caldera" just stunning thank you @MaraNomads to taking us to places we never been and seen before.
😂😂Crater, caldera, magical land of awe, name it, no matter what you call it, we're thrilled you had a blast exploring with us!
This should be a Toyota landcruiser advert, you have alot of trust in that car
Hahaha! Absolutely! Our Toyota Land Cruiser is practically part of the Nomads family now. Trust us, it's seen more adventure than most cars out there! Its a tough 30 year old dragon what is well taken care of since it also takes good care of us in remote places.
You guys def need a trailer.
In the near future. For now the 30 year old dragon will continue doing her bit, and she is not complaining. She has not even maxed out. The stuff on the roof are not that heavy, they just look bulky. Like the swag is just a tent and normal mattress, very light. Also, a trailer cannot make it to some places we go to. We shall see.
Happy to be among the first viewers of this episode
I would love to join mara nomads
Do you guys charge?
Wewe sasa ndio ulipata the front row of Nomad entertainment! And yes, we're all about epic adventures and unforgettable memories. As for charging, we only ask for a small fee for each trip and big appetite for fun, instead of a joining fee or registration fee, and for that you get endless adventure. 😂😂DM us on +254 794 897226
This should be fun
💯it was!
Broline saidia Dereva ama your team Auto
😂😂Huyo ataweza choma clutch..
Wow awesome!!
I need to get myself an off road car and join a nomad expedition
😂 😂 Yes, you need one like yesterday! Thank you!
looking for download option
the hearts of serious explorers!! Theyve always shown us the bad side of that region, thankyou for proving the internet wrong. ngare ndare is one of the 3 blue pools right?
Haha, you're absolutely right! Ngare Ndare is one of the 3 natural blue pools in Kenya.
HI FAM AM LATE HERE DUE TO KPLC
I love travelling and having fun although I don't have a 4*4 is it possible to join your group
Beautiful! I'm guessing one of the other blue pools is Buffalo Spring..
18:42 What's the black structure at the top of Silale?
Yes! Correct. And then the 3rd one is the Ngare Ndare one. Those black structures are water tanks built by GDC who were prospective for geothermal vents in the area. We are not sure what happened. They also went to Mt. Paka, a huge mountain, taller than Silale, and not so far from it.
Amazing but are there no bandits around the crater where you slept?
None. At Silale, we were inside the Pokot community land, as their guests. They don't molest or harm or disturb guests. Very peaceful and amazing time we had there. They were very curious about us, came to say hi, we joked and laughed with them from young herders, warriors, old women, old wazee etc.
kura kwa ruto
😂😂🙏🏻
Where the pokot came to talk to you guys that would have been epic to see. No one caught that on video?
Never record Northerners without their consent. Also this was not possible when you just met someone. Later on, its okay.
I have never seen Broline on the wheel
Let him be assisting after a long drive
😂😂🙏🏻 He is an auto guy. He has been practicing though.
Amazing, hizo tanks mbili kwa mlima ni ya kazi gani?
GDC water tanks for future geothermal wells development in the area.
Nokia is my guy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 Nokia is a vibe! Connecting people and connecting people with fish!
Khadija should start her own cooking show😋😂
😂😂 Very true! Bush meals tutorials?🙏🏻
I second this. The challenges of Camp cooking should be part of your videos. Fantastic job guys
Hamukuogopa bandits 😊😊???
😂 😂 Hapana. We had the protection of our hosts. No one will dare come to their place and attack their guests!
i have a question. Where do you guys take showers? ama kwa camp watu huwa hawaogi
Hahaha! We have a shower tent on the driver's side, collapsible buckets, and hand-held portable rechargeable shower heads that we dip into water in a bucket (heated from the campfire or gas) and we shower. Shower in morning and evening because of dust, and heat. We are civilized, you know.
Hiyo Sere si kuwatusi?🤣
😂😂Zii! Ni kusema "thank you"🙏🏻
At this moment a watch your trip to the hotspring.why did you have to go with armed guards?
Kapedo is inhabited by Turkana people. But the area (the flat area and the mountain - Mt. Silale) behind the hot spring are inhabited by the Pokot people. These 2 communities do not get along well. The hot springs sits like an unofficial border between them. People have been shot by unknown people coming from the mountain. So one must take armed rangers if you want to the hot spring. However, when you go to the mountain itself (as a stranger from far away, like us), no one will molest you or harm you. Its very peaceful there and the area around Silale since you are now on Pokot area and not a border point.
Kwani broline cant drive shida ni gani
Would love to see 'em switch that driver's seat atleast isikue just Rutto alone.
😂😂He is an auto guy. For now, we don't want to lose a clutch deep in the bush. But they are practicing. Soon.
What's your name if you don't care
😂😂😂 Nokia was quite a character!
Amazing stuff. /tembeakenya... Alaf, just a bit of critic*, your guy mwenye anaedit this awesome stuff ameover-do @9:00 onwards. Some contraditing info apo ivo
