Hi GP . Another great informative video . I love the flail mower and Kubota combination. Easy to trailer to different locations. I use mine on forest paths with great results. But also does a decent clean cut to my lawns . Keep the videos coming .
Oh I can't wait to see what new tools you'll have in that new garage when it's built. After watching your videos on the box blade, I now have one on order to maintain my driveway. Thanks!
Excellent video. I've been looking for a rear-mount mower, and had not considered a flail. After watching this series, and for my mixed use, I think it's the perfect choice. Thanks!
You are most welcome David. It is helpful to be able to see different types of equipment in practical use cases and I am happy if it helped you in determining what is best for you and your property. Good luck and thanks for watching and for the comments. Always enjoy hearing from folks. Cheers!
Would ya look at that, even with hammers it cuts great for a flail. That would be great for mowing our ditch, as well as along our pond and up around the family cabin. Bet you can guess what’s going on my wish list, right next to the grapple and wood chipper, and a cab, lol!
LOL. So much more comfortable and we don't ruin our good jeans anymore. The overalls take the beatings and the grease, but keep making us look good - day after day. :)) Cheers!
So I've subscribed to your channel and I've now gone back to see some of your older videos and my question is if you had to do it over again would you buy the finish mower or the flail ? Thanks for you thoughts. Dean
Thanks for the video, you need to work the keywords into the title to help with search...took a week of searching flail mowers to find you 😉. Amazing info, I’m sold.
Thanks DG! A good point - still learning how to do these videos and all the other related things - lots still to learn. Appreciate the advice! Take good care!
G P thanks now we know what the differences are between mowers know second guess my self we have 60 inch bell mower it's hard to move around things God Bless PaK
Great series GP! Now what is the next implement to test? Logging winch? Rear snow blower? Snow plow? Or maybe a BACKHOE!!!! Lol! How is going the Woodstack 2018? Thanks!
Thanks very much for your series on the flail mower. Do you know where they are made, thinking it maybe China. My concern is if needed ...ordering parts. Thanks again .
Good morning Ken. I believe so but not 100% sure. It was provided by Kevin and Dave at Farmer Equipment Sales so I am sure they can give you more info on it as well as parts response times etc. Thanks and all the best!
Thanks so much for reviewing that mower with us. You sounded very happy with it and it appeared to do very good on the lawn even with the hammers. I'm really leaning toward a flail for my next cutter when I buy a smaller tractor again. I have tons of respect for you and your opinion. All the best to you and your family.
Hi Gp how are you ? I was wondering how many inch that flail mower was and did you have the hammers on it? I'm thinking of buying a mower from farmer equipment sales too. Can't beat that price.
Good morning MOV. I had the 48" and yes, I had the hammers on it the whole time. Great unit and wish I had not given it back now. LOL. Cheers and good luck!
Hey good evening bank! I was in low. Although I know I can do most things in mid- range, I prefer to be in low as I am usually learning something. The way the flail mower works is you will be able to determine from the drop in sound etc when you are mowing too fast. I think basically when you are mowing thick stuff, you need to slow down until you reach the speed that it purrs consistently. You will hear the drop in sound if you are mowing too fast for the thickness of whatever you are cutting. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Good morning NB! The tractor has 19.6 hp on the PTO and this smaller flail mower works from 16 to 30 HP. I am not sure if they are available outside of Canada. Thanks for watching and for the questions. Cheers!
Hey GP - I've got you tractor's little brother - the B2301. Do you ever find your engine getting bogged down by the flail mower? I'm looking at getting one, but I'm not sure if I have enough HP at the PTO to actually run it. Most that I see are recommending 30-40 HP on the PTO for a 48" flail. Thoughts?
Hey good day Jason. A good question. No , never bogged down. What you will find is if you are driving too fast for the density of the brush, you will hear the drop in PTO speed and then you simply slow down to match the speed and thickness of the brush. No different from when you are lifting something heavy and need to rev the rpms etc. But when you are doing your diligence on different models etc , just find one that matches your PTO HP and I think you should be fine. he flail mower I had worked great for the b2601and i just learned that depending on the density and type of brush I was cutting, I just had to drive at a speed that allowed it to cut through efficiently. Hope that helps. Cheers and good luck!
Thank GP! One more question, what is the actual model you are running, I notice that BECO has EF, EFG, EFGC product lines, all in various widths. If you have already mentioned this information in one of the videos, I apologize. Thanks!
Hi Jason. Sorry for the delay but I had to confirm with Kevin at Farmers Equipment Sales. He says they only sell the higher quality EFGC models, they don't sell the lighter ones. Hope that helps. The one I had for the B2601 was the 48" model. I think the wider models allow the mower to be shifted out to the side of the tractor but you will need to verify with Kevin. All the best!
Hello, I live in Colombia South America, I am interested in buying a flail mower for my Kubota bx2380 tractor. I would like the best advice from you to tell me which one is the best that suits my tractor. I appreciate your attention and I look forward to your response.
Well, I have a feeling this flail series of videos you did is going to end up costing me some money. Didn't think I needed one but now I'm looking for one. It's all your fault. My wife is not going to be happy with you. :-)
So sorry Larry but I don't have it any longer - they are sold on farmerequipmentsales (.com) website so you can see the different models there, including the ones that slide sideways. Take care!
Good morning Stanley. Sorry I must have missed this comment last week. Short answer - people drop by unannounced often and some of the neighbours kids drive their ATVs through the property/forest so I like to remain visible as possible. Safety. Have a good one!
Good morning Jake. Thanks for watching. Unfortunately I no longer have it o honestly can not remember the actual model number. I believe it was a 48" width but you can certainly go on Farmer Equipment Sales website or give them a call and I know they will be able to help. I was speaking to them the other day and I think they are bringing in a new model that has the ability to slide sideways outside the width of the tractor. That sounds pretty great. Hoping I might get to use one this summer. Cheers and all the best!

Now I was set on a finish mower however now I'm thinking flail mower. Thanks for the review and showing how it cuts all different sorts of stuff.

Good day Darrell! Congrats on the new attachment! Yes, been saving my pennies. I can't wait till I can build it. Cheers!
Yeah it works really well on just about everything! I like it!! Thanks for the review videos GP!!
You bet LA!
Yeah you've gotten me to really consider getting a flail mower.
LOL. I have to admit it is a pretty awesome little machine and I enjoyed using it. Cheers!

Thanks for the review
Relly intresting !
Have a nice weekends !
Cheers
You too P! All the best!
That's a nice cutting mower .nice indeed
That was a good review. What was interesting was the ability to cut in the rain, and you done the higher wet grass. All in all that's a good tool GP.
Hey Dean. It definitely is. If I had property like my neighbour's I would have bought the Flail for sure. Have a great week!
i've been rocking the carhartt overalls for about 4 months and sooo much better then pants, way more air flow.
LOL. So much more comfortable and we don't ruin our good jeans anymore. The overalls take the beatings and the grease, but keep making us look good - day after day. :)) Cheers!
Ya GP...that height seems to look alot better.....nice going.
Thanks Don!
Awesome tool! Thanks for the videos.
Thanks Chuck. Hope it was informative. Have a great weekend!

GP Outdoors everything revolves around keywords these days. The algorithms control the world, and the keywords control the algorithms 😂

Hey Peter, thanks! Have a wonderful week!
Great series GP! Now what is the next implement to test? Logging winch? Rear snow blower? Snow plow? Or maybe a BACKHOE!!!! Lol! How is going the Woodstack 2018? Thanks!
Good morning Joe! LOL on the Backhoe. Woodstack is coming slow but sure. Seems time flies so quickly. Have a great weekend and talk again soon!
Thanks very much for your series on the flail mower. Do you know where they are made, thinking it maybe China. My concern is if needed ...ordering parts. Thanks again .

does your's move side to side to mow near a ditch, for example? Good for Cover Crops?? Believe it's made in North Carolina
Good day Larry. This one didn't, but they have other models that do slide to the side. Thanks for the question - Cheers!
To adjust the height of the mower requires two items. The rear roller and the top link.
Thanks Tom! Good point. Cheers!
Were you working in low or midrange when using the flail mower?

how many hours are on your b2601
Good day Domenic. Just checked it - 87 hours so far. Cheers!
Why are you using your flashers on private property?
Good morning Stanley. Sorry I must have missed this comment last week. Short answer - people drop by unannounced often and some of the neighbours kids drive their ATVs through the property/forest so I like to remain visible as possible. Safety. Have a good one!
Hey GP, what model number is this unit?

LOL!! Yup!
GP I think you should trade in your finish mower for this unit. How many guys can say that they mow their lawn with a stump grinder?
LOL Terry. Cheers!!
