Stay Fishing MY Friends !!
For a first time boat owner I’m IMPRESSED! You’ve got it all figured out. I’m happy for you brother. Seem like a wonderful guy. Happy fishing and hope you enjoy!
Ha ! Not even close to having it all figured out ! Tight Lines Amigo ! I hope you like our content.
@@chickenthighfishingI’ve been in boats for 10+ years now. And you’ve got all the actual needed accessories figured out. Don’t have a bunch of crazy off the wall random stuff. Just the actual, functional accessories. And with too notch brands too, not some Amazon cheap crap. I don’t “need” anything from this video, but your personality and thoroughness got a sub from me.
Awesome Brother. I hope you check out some of our other stuff. If you like to laugh, check out our end-of-the-season blooper videos following our first two seasons ! Meantime...I'm waiting for snow and ice to melt.
Great work on this video! It was like hanging around and talking about the boat. This is one of those videos that will grab a lot views for years to come.
Awesome, thank you!
Great review. I am about to order a 2024 model with the Tournament upgrade. I have been known to do too much research before buying something. After watching this review and I heading down to my dealer to order this boat. Thanks.
Awesome. Mine is probably the best purchase I ever made ! Tight lines Amigo !
Awesome job on the review, this has been the best review i have seen hands down
Wow, thanks!
First time watching your video. I have had 2 tracker bass boats and same model as yours. They were good boats and I am glad you are happy with yours. You might check the bunks that your boat rests on. You will find that it is southern yellow pine a cheap wood that rots in 2 years. Thats been the case since Johnny Morris bought out Triton and Ranger. Ranger use to make their own trailers before he bought them out. Long story short. I own a new Ranger but don't tournament fish. I am retired and fish for the fun of it. I release all my fish. I had the bunks removed and used pressure treated wood with new carpeting. My bunks were rotting. That much money for a Ranger and put it on cheap bunks. The dealers don't tell you these things. I am happy now and hope you the best. Just check tour bunks. If a side guide falls off, lookout for underneath!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Indeed, you are correct. I discovered that as well and replaced my bunks entirely when I recently did a complete makeover of both my boat and trailer. Here's the link to the video if you'd like to check it out. It was a big risk for me, but I think it came out really good considering it was the first time doing such a thing. But, boy, it sure is amazing how these multi-gazillion dollar companies choose to pinch pennies. th-cam.com/video/ySXlFkS-C3I/w-d-xo.html
Great review! Your detail about the talon problem with the batteries and your brother on the back of the boat makes total sense! It would have been the same problem with my 240 lb butt back there. Loving the channel and the night fishing is one of the main reasons I watch!! Thanks Keith!
Glad you are enjoying CTF Amigo. We'll have a few more Late Night Lunkers videos coming for you before we end the season !
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I just got a new to me 2021 tracker classic xl. Your tips and tricks have been helpful. I’ve watched so many videos the past month but yours was the first to mention the leaf springs so I already ordered a new pair from etrailer as I’ll be trailering it from Vegas to New England next summer.
Good idea. Mine broke in town. That would be a bummer if it did out there somewhere on a highway.
Nice Joe! I’m rocking a pro170 and it fits me and my lakes.
Nice!
Just watched the whole thing and This is the best and most comprehensive review I have ever seen Great job Sir you sold me on this boat !
Thanks for watching! I hope you check out our fishing videos ! Welcome aboard !
Great Video!!! It was long and i wasn't sure i wanted to sit here for an hour. Before i knew i was taking a few notes. Rewinding so i didn't miss anything. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I pick up my Tracker this Saturday. 06/01/2024. Really excited. I will be using your information.
Awesome. You will love your boat !
Good video really glad to see someone buy something nice and take care of it like you do thats the way I am I like my boats and vehicles to be kept up and clean just found your channel on the trolling motor repair and started watching others, keep up the great work.
Awesome ! Welcome aboard. We hope you enjoy the channel. There's a lot of really good fishing...and some really good laughs.
Great Video Buddy, Im 71 and side effects from last years Colon cancer surgery have ended my tournament days. Just sold the Cat and am thinking of scaling down to a metal boat for local fishing. Going to go used so this was great info on this boat. Thanks again and good luck to you!
Best wishes and good health to you Sir.
Great review! I also have just finished my second year with my Tracker PT 175 TXW. You give a lot of good advice about things I surely would not have thought about ( removing the seats just for one). I have very few complaints about my Tracker. I had an issue with the trolling motor plug on the bow so I hard wired it. I also had an issue with the 3 bank charger that was wired incorrectly that my inexperience didn’t notice until it was just out of warranty so the dealer helped me out and split the cost of a new and larger one. I upgraded to the tournament edition and a Ultrex 24v 80 lbs. trolling motor and a 75 hp that gets me to about 40 mph (GPS) which is all I need to do. Over all I would definitely recommend a Tracker. It has been an absolute pleasure fishing out of it. You have made some nice additions to your boat that I may follow suit on. Keep up with the great info and let’s hope this (Michigan) winter goes by quickly!
Indeed. I can't wait to add an Ultrex. And (if I hit a scratch ticket) maybe a 75 hp ! Thanks for watching. I hope you check out our fishing videos ! Tight Lines my friend.
Allot of good info here, nice boat!
Thanks Friend ! Welcome aboard.
Wow excellent video… thank you for sharing… I’m looking to buy to buy one …
Best thing I ever bought. Welcome to the channel !
I just got my 2024 tracker 175, and man what a boat. Def learn a lot on this video, man I wish you were my neighbor. Seems like you know a lot about the boat and how to modify. Tinker etc with it, nine review
Awesome! Enjoy. Tight Lines !
Great review with alot of insights about owning this boat. Im planning to buy the TF model in spring so this helped alot in making a decision!
Awesome. Tight Lines my friend.
Wow... What a great video! Tracker should have a link to this video on their website ; ) Subscribing because several of the things you have done or talked about, I'd like to see your videos on how you did it...
Awesome, thank you!
Enjoyed the video. I noticed you didn’t have a video linked for the electronics upgrade. Did you do it yourself? I bought two Lowrance elite fs 9’s and I am going to try and install them myself
That’s one of the things I had someone else do….
Great video. Thanks for posting. I had similar problems with mine.
Thanks for watching! Welcome to Chicken Thigh Fishing Amigo !
I have the 2011 model. I love it! Good video
Awesome. Thanks.
Loved boat review need info on your boat carport install
It's a 12 x 20 Arrow Carport from Lowe's www.lowes.com/pd/Arrow-12-17-ft-x-19-75-ft-Charcoal-Metal-Carport/1000608465. I made the base out of 2' x 2' x 2" cement patio squares - 60 of them to be exact....at 90 lbs each. Oy.
thank you great review, looking to upgrade from my 170 to the 175 or maybe a 190 - you hit pretty much every area I was wondering about -- the leaf spring issue ( comes up a lot on forums ) is a problem on most of the tracker trailers from years around the 2020s they changed back to the 3 leaf springs at some point
I’m glad they changed to better springs, if that’s the case !
Yes. I own a Tracker 175 2019 Tournament Addition. Ref flooding in the stern. I had the same problem. And drove me crazy for two seasons. However my issue revolves around having a 75 vs 60hp Merc. The 75 is much larger and heavier. So my boat was laying in the water only a few inches from deck. Particularly with full gas tank. Drove me crazy. Lots of water coming in. So much so I installed the largest and most power bilge that would fit. Eventually I even taped out bilge outlet. That said... Thanks for one way check valve idea. :) I also replace my electronics and upgrade trolling motor to (spot lock). Do it... You won't regret it. Otherwise. No issues.
The 75 is almost exactly 100 lbs heavier than the 60. Water is bothersome. No doubt. I just moved my talon from the port side to the starboard and together with the check valve I'm hoping it leaves me dry. That was dumb of me to put the talon on port side along with the batteries. But hey...ya don't know what ya don't know.
Well, truth be told a boat of that size should be able to handle two smaller Talons without sinking. I like the boat a bunch. But they need to redesign the hull somewhat to bring it out of the water 2 or 3 inches. I have 170 also. And it is no where close to doing this. Good luck. Have a great season.
Awesome Video!
Thanks!
Just checked out your channel for the first time as I am purchasing a Tracker (previous owner of Lunds). Very much enjoying your mods, pros, cons and opinions. Great job and keep it up. 2 questions....you said no issues with the cooler. Have seen lots of posts and threads about how bad the cooler is. One guy did a mod where he replaced it with a 28qt Igloo lol. You didn't do any modifications to yours? Also, where did you get the cover structure you park your boat under? Thanks and tight lines!
Thanks Amigo. Welcome aboard !! Well the cooler did not keep ice long. What I did was buy a 2’ x 2’ square of that owens corning 3/4” thick insulation. I cut it up and lined the walls. Keeps ice all day now. I should’ve done a video on that ! My awning was purchased at Lowes. It was like $1200. Well worth it.
Great video!
Question for you. Do you fish tournaments with a co-angler? Do find the live well big enough for you and your co-angler?
I've never had it NOT be big enough. I hope there is a day when it isn't !! That means we're loaded with HAWGS.
Hi I watched your video on 2 year owner ship, I bought a 2024 pro team 175 tf and I wanted to put a keel guard on it I was tall by the stores service center that I couldn't because of the powder coating, so I took it a step further and I called a company that makes keel guards and they said that model has a thicker keel on it so the wouldn't work. Do you have any ideas for this ? 😢
Another great video! My 175 should be here in the next two weeks. I've never owned any kind of boat. When you're driving to a location with your boat, do you ever have the cover on it or is that just for when it's parked at home? Thanks!
The particular cover I have isn’t suited for highway travel. It blows up pretty good. I suppose putting supplemental straps across it would help. But i only travel short distances with cover on, and not at highway speeds generally.
Brother great video I live in Ma . Where did you buy your boat from Bass Pro?
I actually traveled for it. I wasn’t a fan of the stupid covid inflation 2022 price increase, so I searched for a 2021 and found one in Kentucky at a marina. So…a road trip it was.
Looking at a 2024 Pro 175 Tournament Edition. Is there that much of a difference between a 2021 and a 2024?
I guess I wouldn't know. I've seen some newer ones and they don't seem to have changed much...
Wow, this video was in depth, appreciate the work you did here. I do have a question if you don't mind. I bought my first boat last year, 2023 bass tracker 175 TXW tournament edition. I want to put shallow water anchors on it. My buddy suggest I get two power poles, one on each side of the stern. I see you have only one, do you have problems in the wind with the boat swinging with one? Would you suggest two? Also, another problem i see is where to mount the hydraulic pumps. There seems to be no room left in the battery compartment with 3 batteries inside. I'm not sure where i would put it other then that maybe you have some insight on where you installed yours. On another note someone mentioned to me a Lewmar Axis shallow water anchor which has no hydraulic pump, just a small electric motor which i would consider also. Anyways, again thank you for the in depth video.
I went with the Minn Kota talon because it is electric and not hydraulic. And I only went with one due to weight issues. It does swing in a stiff current or wind but once it finds the spot, it stays put. But before you do I would call to double check what your transom is rated for. I'm not sure if the 2023 or the Tourn Edition is different than my boat, but when I spoke to Tracker about it, they recommended only one for my transom. Check out this video for a little more insight on the issue.. th-cam.com/video/MKbAPa9NU3A/w-d-xo.html
@@chickenthighfishing Thank you sir. Something i wouldnt have considered being my first boat.
I've seen PT 175's with two power poles or talons, and hey...to each his own, but weight and transom strength are definitely considerations worth mulling over if you ask me. Especially if you typically fish with someone else. PT 175 is not a big boat. Extra equipment, extra batteries (if you have them), and another big dude in the boat will definitely effect things. If I Had a bigger boat like a 19 or 20 footer, and a more powerful motor, I'd definitely get two shallow water anchors. But on this 17 footer, with a 60 Hp motor, one works just fine for me.
what size is the check valve you used for the bilge pump hose?
I’m not exactly sure as I did not do the install. My Tracker guy at Cabelas did it when the boat was in there.
I see you have the 60 on that. I am literally watching this video after sitting with the tracker dealer today, I was ordering telling him i wanted the 175 with a 60 and he said no problem I can order that. But looking around I notice he had 2 in stock with 75 on it.
I know it's 3 years dif but you look like you know what your talking about
For the money, I don’t think the 75 adds too much. Now if you were making the jump to a 115…that’s a different story.
Either way you won’t be disappointed, especially if you take something in stock and don’t have to wait for it.
@@chickenthighfishing thx I appreciate your opinion,
My first boat is 175 I like it just fine the front is a little bit narrow for me I am 6 ft 265 the seat up front of you bend over in rong spot it put you in the water if you ant carful I may be to fat and clumsey just saying 😂 good luck and congrats happy for you guys enjoy
Welcome aboard. Hope you like the channel !
anti seize your post?
Indeed
I guess overall these boats are ok. But for my money I think it would be better spent on a good used Ranger. For about 25-30k
My goodness are these boats made in china 😂😮
