I was at this show! I was 15 years old it was awesome! after the show I went to stage left were Ozzy was hanging out I called to him and asked him for the Orchids that were next to Bill Wards Kit He was so cool he ran over to them ran back to me (I was overlooking him from a railing) and he threw the Orchids to me..I had those white orchids for years man..cool memory
Yeah, 1974 was about as good as it got for Ozzy's voice. By'76 it sounded like he had scratched his vocal cords with sandpaper. Sad, he had such range and power at this point.
+RareSabbath do you know of any recordings of Sabbath Bloody sabbath being played live in the early years/ first iteration of the band? I'm like you, I love hearing Ozzy rip live
Chad Herrin he was pretty great when I saw Sabbath in 2016. He only struggled with the very last song (Children of the Grave). But yeah he hasn’t been able to sing like this in a long time.
@@gregwright9869 I think Plant at Live Aid in 1985 was one of the worst performances in history, and he was still in his 30s....Plant was awesome when he was younger, but his voice didn't last very long...
@@pulsarlights2825 maybe it was the size of live aid because I seen him solo in the 80's and he sounded good. Granted his solo stuff then wasn't heavy vocals.most those 70's heavy screamers didn't know about taking care of there voices. Drink, smoke, snore yell 4 times a week. Dio told of seeing Coverdale cough blood after shows, then light up a smoke with a drink.
So many different things seem to play a role in the preservation of your vocal chords, a singer I am VERY fond of said he drank beer but not hard liquor because the liquor messed up your vocal chords, and he kept his voice until near the end of his life. I don't know, I hate his style of music, but I've always heard Frank Sinatra sucked the last 20 years he was out there performing, and you know that motherfucker drank liquor like.....well, like me.
Yeah but having been a singer in a rock n roll band myself I know that it gets more and more difficult with passing years. Ozman did good, a hell of a lot better than I ever did.. Drop a couple octaves and keep going!
I saw them live in 2016. Unfortunately Bill wasn’t there but I’m still glad I got to see Ozzy Tony and Geezer. And it was a great show all 3 of them were terrific.
Absolutely amazing, I’ve always been looking for recordings of this song live, absolutely sabbaths most amazing performance, Ozzy sounded astonishing on vocals back then… hit every note 🤘🏼
one of my favorite sabbath songs,oz n tony and the boys invented HEAVY METAL,thank god, always were the best and always will be......!!! so go fkn crazzy!!!!!!!!!
Amazing, I was at this concert. Don't remembeer much but it was loud as F and some dude seed filled J exploded and the embers set the frayed back of his bell bottoms a blaze.
Yes "Whale Tea Time" - they do not understand how to play the old time riffs, OK, Metallica is great - nothing against them - but.... Sorrry, my swedish/english
If you look back to the 'Paranoid album' they had a fold out that showed the whole band hanging out....Toni had no facial hair nor Bill Ward... Ward looked like Danny Bonaduce from the Partridge family...Lol... Such a cool lay out of the band... Go look it up..... Black Sabbath Paranoid 2nd album released inside album picture.... John of course looked 'Big and Bad' like he was back in the day
Ozzy Osbourne talking:Sounds like Brad Pit in “Snatch, Pigs & Diamonds” like a bloody pikey😂(joking ofc) Ozzy Osbourne singing: Speaks as clear as Alexa or Siri 😂

A superb rendition. Maybe the greatest recorded "Sabbra Cadabra" (there' not a ton of em). Of course the version from the Asbury Park, NJ (King Biscuit radio broadcast) is a classic due to the high quality of the sound. However, for an audience recorded tape, the sound is quite good and the performance is just excellent!
There is actually a better version of this song live on youtube. Look for the one with a blue Ozzy on the thumbnail recorded in Ashbury Park, NJ 75. Your Welcome.
What an amazing singer Ozzy was back then!!Then in the mid 80,s he got lazy but of course age has a lot to do with it to.(And probably some"happy stuff"as well..he).
Thanks for sharing but I don't know about this "being by far the best quality recording from around this time" here is one about about a month and a halve later and it was recorded right off the soundboard (Sabbra Cadara) is about half way through the set. th-cam.com/video/BXvB9l0QkpU/w-d-xo.html

Legendary story.
Oh yeah, Bill wore Orchids and other flowers on his kit. That was pretty special.
🍺⚡️🍺 amazing memory! Good things.
How many people where there? Was it sold out ?
Love Ozzy's voice at this point in time..

+RareSabbath
You're right about that man. This is from my favorite album by them Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
They were still good after that though.
+RareSabbath do you know of any recordings of Sabbath Bloody sabbath being played live in the early years/ first iteration of the band? I'm like you, I love hearing Ozzy rip live

My favorite Sabbath song, sooooooooooo good
Coincidimos totalmente
The greatest
And Metallica ruined it
up until 75 they were just unstoppable. a force I say
It forever lives in its own dimension. I've been there on stage with them before.. Of course not in this lifetime
ozzy in fire hit those notes with great power! God Bless Black Sabbath forever and ever!
Ozzy had a high range like Robert Plant too, but also was damaged by singing his heart out and the excesses of life.
and the same thing happened to both, lost their voice to soon
@@pointblank8216 Plant has sucked live since the early 70s, hard to believe Ozzy outlasted him...

Keep on rockin in the Free word !!!
God bless you
You were born when ur mom heard heard that high note.
Naciste cuando SABBATH
Era TODO ENERGIA
Live happy and long bro
Lol! The first time I saw Sabbath was 1975, Sabotage Tour. Damn I feel old.
I love this so much. Ozzy’s voice sounds like it’s going through a wah pedal
Amazing performance! I would pay so much for a time machine to be at this concert! Vocals, guitar, bass, and drums all got a chance to shine here.
Ozzy had such a beautiful voice in the early 70's, but sounds completely different in the 80's
That's the difference between a singer with good technique or not. Jon Anderson keeps him pristine voice after many years.
Genetics play a big roll, Corey Taylor abuses the crap out of his voice for years, and in 2 bands, i'm surprised he still has a voice
also dont forget that he's a heavy alcohol, drug user.
Ronald Alejandro Torres in the 80 he singing good

Ozzy nailed all those notes. Fucking sick!
Crazy how much higher Ozzy used to sing!

Yeah, it was definitely powered by Peruvian marching dust...

This is one of my favorite Sabbath tunes.
These guys were fucking phenomenal.
Long live Ozzy & Sabbath. Ozzy has rocked everything he's ever been connected with.
Singing and guitar was great, the part I loved most was that jam at the end. They were firing on all cylinders at this concert!
his range was awesome in 1970-1975! Amazing performance!
if you never seen them live you missed out on why imop they were the best. been listening for 50 years now.

Feel so good I feel so fine
Love that little lady always on my mind
She gives me lovin' every night and day
Never gonna leave her, never going away
Someone to love me
You know she makes me feel alright
Someone who needs me
Love me every single night
Feel so happy since I met that girl
When we're making love it's something out of this world
Feels so good to know that she's all mine
Going to love that woman till the end of time
Someone to live for
Love me till the end of time
Makes me feel happy
Good to know that she's all mine
Lovely lady make love all night long
Lovely lady never do me wrong
I don't wanna leave ya
I never wanna leave ya
Anymore no more
Lovely lady, mystifying eyes
Lovely lady, she don't tell me no lies
I know I'll never leave ya
I'm never gonna leave ya
Anymore, I said no more
I said no more
No more, yeah
I said no more, no more
I said no more, no more
I said no more, ooh yeah
Geezer Butler and Bill Ward are Sabbath
Geezer wrote most of the music. And Ward is underrated. But they're all good.
Sean Mcnerney Iommi wrote most of the music. Geezer wrote the majority of the lyrics tho! All 4 members are absolute legends, no doubt.
