I will write a longer comment later, but first, I just want to say that I love it so much, the way you guys know how to choose background music for each scene. I love the jazzy piano tunes to capture the relaxing and elegant feel of the 5 star hotel. In one of your older videos, I recall you chose a more oriental tune to capture the traditional feel of Hanoi Old Quarter, and Hoi An. In your recent Tet video, you chose the Tet tune for it. If TH-camrs are like college students, you guys would be straight A students because you guys always do your research carefully and dedicate a significant amount of time to edit and produce highest possible quality videos. This is a channel with video quality that deserves 100 times the current subscriber count. I say 3.6 million subscribers. It was worth the wait because I know you guys always put 110% heart to it. That statement by Mike "We love, love, love, love Vietnamese food" relieves me because I know Vietnam is ingrained your hearts and I know you will always return to Vietnam in the future, seeing it as your second hometown. I hope!! 14:20 Fun fact, these Sapa ethnic salesladies speak better English than even students in the big cities because they are exposed to foreign tourists and speak English on a day-to-day basis. I got the impression from these videos that you guys have very high social and emotional intelligence, as well as a delicate taste in choosing music. Talking about Buddhist pagodas, if you visit Ninh Binh next time, please visit Bai Dinh Pagoda, and Tam Chuc Pagoda Complex in Ha Nam (37 miles from Ha Noi). Those pagodas are very impressive. This video is a treat to me.
Hmong is a nomad ethnic, they came to Vietnam 300years ago Their language is matched for saying English There are some ethnic in Sapa, but Hmong is the best in speaking foreign language
@douglashtang wow, this is such an incredible comment. You've truly made our day. It feels amazing to have someone appreciate the work that we put into our videos. To be honest, for us, it still feels like we're figuring it all out. We try to be knowledgable and curious of all of the places we visit, so that we can portray them with the respect they deserve. As far as the music goes, I (Mike) have always been into music and how a soundtrack can effect the tone and mood of a scene when watching movies, so when we decided to start making videos a little over a year ago, this was something that I was delighted to take on. Again, thank you so much for your well thought out and kind words. We really appreciate it. It honestly makes this whole process feel worth it.
Great videos guys!! Y’all are so sweet for the shout out! 🥹💗 So wishing we had made more time to now visit Sapa when we get to Vietnam! Hopefully next time… and we’ll always remember to take the tram down to Cat Cat Village! So thanks for the tip! Y’all made Sapa look so cool! Hate that about your drone, so sweet that guy had a ladder & went to retrieve it for y’all! Thanks for another incredible video y’all!
Thanks guys! Your adventures always inspire us, so we can't wait to see what you get up to in Vietnam. If you need any tips, just let us know and we'll do our best! Yeah, the guys at the hotel were so kind to offer to get it for me. He even did a little bit of landscaping when he was down there. 😅
Loved the new series my friends, you guys are so awesome.. we definitely need to collaborate someday, i know we'll have a great time doing it.. if I'm at a really posh place, i would eat my pizza with a knife and fork other than that my hands is the way to go, that pizza you guys had looked incredible and tasty
Thanks Vu! And yeah, that would be awesome. When are you going to start your channel? You can't take me to a classy place, I'll eat with my hands all day. Lol. 🙃
That hotel really is spectacular...and the breakfast buffet is whoa!! If you guys ever go back try staying at Topas Ecolodge as the pool and views from there are something else. Love the Fansipan portion. The Italian food there seems a bit meh, honestly. Have you guys tried Pizza 4Ps in Hanoi yet? People rave about the food there. It was started by a Japanese guy in Vietnam and is expanding all over SE Asia now.
The hotel was incredible. Definitely a five-star experience! And yeah, the breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had. I'm not sure our video even did it justice, there was so much more to it than we showed. We would have loved to stay at Topas Ecolodge, and it's on our bucket list. Pizza 4Ps is AMAZING! It is easily some of the best pizza we've had anywhere. We can see why it is so successful. The Italian food in Sapa definitely left a bit to be desired. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't pizza 4Ps. 😅
@@mikeandashley I heard there's an actual Italian restaurant started by an Italian somewhere in the Ha Giang Loop (he married a Vietnamese woman in that area). I'd be curious how authentic his food is.
Thanks Richard. 100%, but we took a lot of our time this last time we were in Vietnam to catch up on work and spend time with friends. It was nice to take a break. ☺️😋
Hello Mike and Ashley, that was a very memorable experience , the fancy hotel resort resembles some European royal palace. Finger or fork it's personal preference although fork is a preferred choice when it comes to Italian pasta, because with chopsticks would take forever😊.that mountain top excursion was amazing with intriguing atchitecture .
The hotel was fabulous. Such a treat. I now want to eat every noodle type dish with chopsticks haha. And yes, Fansipan is a memorable experience to say the least!
We've heard it's incredible! We wanted to check it out as well, but I believe it was pretty booked out. We were quite pleased with Hotel de la Coupole, some of the best customer service we've ever experienced.
Awesome video you guys! Sapa looks so amazing, I feel like every time we went up a mountain the fog always came rolling in 😂 Can't wait to see where you go next!
Thank you so much for watching! And yes, whenever we film it seems like the fog will inevitably roll in. Our friends went to Fansipan the same week we did, and it was nothing but clear skies. 🤣
@@mikeandashley I saw one couple went up and had clouds/fog. But they stayed long enough that it cleared out for them. So maybe if you spend enough time up there, you might get the chance for a better view if you get lucky with the weather changing.
That would have been nice! We would have liked to stay longer, but our tour was organized at 2pm, so we didn’t have too long to be up there. Our friends went another day and had absolutely beautiful weather! Just our luck I suppose. 😅☺️
I love that Hmong village you guys went to! Bucket list for sure! Oh and the correct pronunciation is Mong - the H is silent. :) We get that all the time, so no worries. You might encounter us in southeast Asia alot so just letting you know. ;) Thank you so much for sharing all of your videos! Love you guys!
Aw, thank you! 🥰 And thanks for letting us know the proper way to pronounce it! We have noticed that Hmong people span all over SE Asia. Yea, that village was too chill. We didn’t film much as we were just relaxing too! Happy you enjoy our videos. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 🫶
Sapa is much more beautiful end of August to September when golden rice terraces are cascading waves after waves. Same for Hoang su phi and Mu cang chai. Or June or July for their green lushes of rice cascades.
Yeah, we would have preferred to visit during peak season, but our friends were visiting and insisted we go in the middle of winter. 🥶 Hopefully we'll return to see Sapa at it's best, but it was beautiful regardless. 🥰
It is fine weather in mid winter, but the color of the terrace fields still call you back Next time you should explore the real north western Vietnam, that is along the Đà river where Thai and Mường ethnic occupy the low land while Hmong& Yao ethnic take the hills

Ha, we know! 😅😬 I don’t think it’s Vietnamese food as much as that we had friends visit for a month-and-a-half, and we didn’t eat as healthy as we normally would! 🙃 We’re back on it now, though. 😋😂

😅 We actually only eat Vietnamese food, just not in this video. If you’ve watched any of our other videos, it’s all e eat, and we LOVE it! This time, we just changed it up a bit.. and yea, the beer didn’t help at all. 😬😭 What’s the best pho in Ninh Binh? We do love pho. 😋🤗
What a beautiful experience! Thanks for teaching me more about Ramadan. I didn't know a lot about it. I don't think I could handle the no coffee bit! :_Coffee:
Again, the only time I ever went to Vietnam, was on a 2016 year-long visa to teach a bunch of students! 😢 Now, hopefully I have more to bring back to them… 😢
Hey Mike & Ashley - love all your Vietnam videos! I'm off to Sapa in May and trying to decide whether to stay in the city or out in the countryside. You stayed in both - did you have a preference/reco? All help appreciated. Thanks and happy travels!
Hey Patrick! We’re happy to hear you enjoy our videos! 🤗 I think it would depend on your comfort behind the handlebars of a motorbike. We preferred the serenity of staying out in the countryside, BUT, our place was nearly 10km outside of town, and there was nothing around, so getting into town to visit and partake in any activities was a bit cumbersome and could get pricy. So if you were able to get yourself around, it would be good. Alternatively, most home stays will cook your meals, so if all you want is a break from it all, the country side is good. That being said, there are a ton of nice little hotels and guest houses in Sapa town that are outside of the hustle and bustle, and Sapa town is quite cute. So if you’re looking for shopping and access to restaurants etc, the town is a solid choice.
We didn’t miss it, we just didn’t have the time. Our friends were around and once they got in we took two days to just relax and enjoy the countryside with them. We do regret not doing the trekking though, so that will have to be next time!
Hello, tbh, I don’t believe a guide is provided typically. We were fortunate that our hotel stay arranged the tour for us and we were so lucky to have Ha by our side. We always tip our guides, regardless of them being provided or not though. 😊 Maybe you can ask for a guide on your visit as well.
Coming from Alaska, we totally understand the downside of development in a beautiful, rural area. We weren't fortunate enough to experience Vietnam until recently, so we can only imagine the pristine beauty that it once was. However, It's still incredibly beautiful and we're grateful that we were able to visit. Hopefully, people will respect the natural surroundings and majesty and not overdevelop the land to keep it's charm. Thanks for watching.
Phải chấp nhận ! Muốn xã hội đất nc phát triển thì phải xây dựng! Nhung nó vẫn còn những di tích xưa như nhà thờ con gà! hồ xuân hương nhà ga xe lửa. ??
Hello! Thanks for watching. Yes, Vietnam has many restrictions about drones. Some of them seem pretty lofty. We had permission from Fansipan Authority to fly the drone for these shots. Always check your local regulations and fly with your best judgement. 😊
I can’t quite remember, I believe we spent about two hours exploring the whole area, but we were also capturing video. You can take the funicular up and down if you’d prefer not to walk. 😊
We did. We requested permission from the Fansipan Authority ahead of us going to Sapa, and secured a permit to fly it. Vietnam is tricky about drones! 😅

What’s the best pho in Ninh Binh? We do love pho. 😋🤗
Thank you! 🥰
Great vlog - did you book the trip to Sapa all separately or was it all part of a package? ❤
We booked the bus ticket on our own. Our hotel and the trip to Fansipan SunWorld was all bundled together by the hotel staff. 😊
What a beautiful experience! Thanks for teaching me more about Ramadan. I didn't know a lot about it. I don't think I could handle the no coffee bit! :_Coffee:
We’re glad you enjoyed it, though we think you may be thinking of the wrong video. 😅🫶
Oops yes! Must have been too slow for the previous video. I've been watching lots of your videos too! That hotel in Sapa is on my bucket list 😍
Aw thanks! It was on ours as well. So plush. 👌
Nice weather in fansipan ! Which month is This?
It was very beautiful! But a little chilly! This was in December. 😊
@@mikeandashley wow cool! i will go there soon, hope the weather will be good and get the best experience like you guys
Have fun! We wish you luck and hope for good weather for you! Let us know how you enjoy it! ✨
Please visit Tay Nguyên. Specifically đà lạt. Lâm đồng province. The place with the best coffee in VN
We’re actually been to Da Lat! And the coffee there IS incredible. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/G-WbUSGHw6w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hS3xunwvOGESEiOG
I am watching your remarkable videos from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA this weekend in great joy & peace @ home in March of 2024❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching! We've never been to Philly, but we've always wanted to visit. 🥰🥰🥰
Wow very happy here
Sapa is a beautiful place! 🥰
Again, the only time I ever went to Vietnam, was on a 2016 year-long visa to teach a bunch of students! 😢 Now, hopefully I have more to bring back to them… 😢
We hope you can visit again soon. We wish we could stay for a year. That would be amazing!
@@mikeandashley Too much to comment on, nonetheless, hope you get tp acquire upon it next!! 🥰
Hey guys! Thanks so much for the thorough reply. Plenty to consider but really appreciate your perspective. Cheers.
Of course! Let us know if you have any other questions. 😊
Did you miss the trekking and local market?
We didn’t miss it, we just didn’t have the time. Our friends were around and once they got in we took two days to just relax and enjoy the countryside with them. We do regret not doing the trekking though, so that will have to be next time!
❤🎉❤🎉❤❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤❤❤...Hiii ....Two my love!!!
Hello! 🥰🫶🥰🫶
YOU ROCK
Thanks so much! 🥰❤️
Welcome my country brothers 🎉
Thank you! 🙏🙏
Chúc hai bạn đi chơi vui vẻ nhé!?
Of course we do!
Hi
the guide in green is included or you gave a tip ? Thanks
@@mikeandashleyso she's part of the hôtel staff or the fansipan staff ?
Fansipan. Though I’m not sure that it’s a regular option, you may want to check ahead of time.
@@mikeandashley thanks
No problem!
Wow! You look Amazing, you look like millions bucks, your outfit go well with the hotel, you look like Rose from Titanic
Aw, thank you so much! 🥰🫶 That’s so sweet!
31:39 yeah, she was crazy 😂
Right?! 😂😂 I’m never trusting ANYTHING made of old rope above a cliff. 😅
I am locking down your words at 2:30 “I am never leaving”. Stayyyyyyyyy!
We wish we could! We would love a long term visa for Vietnam so we can explore everywhere!
😊😊😊❤❤❤👏@@mikeandashley
Phải chấp nhận ! Muốn xã hội đất nc phát triển thì phải xây dựng! Nhung nó vẫn còn những di tích xưa như nhà thờ con gà! hồ xuân hương nhà ga xe lửa. ??
Everything has to give a little these days it seems.
hey guys! Thanks for content
its it any restrictions about dron? should tourists register it before come?
Hello! Thanks for watching. Yes, Vietnam has many restrictions about drones. Some of them seem pretty lofty. We had permission from Fansipan Authority to fly the drone for these shots. Always check your local regulations and fly with your best judgement. 😊
@@mikeandashley thanks a lot 🙏🏼
Of course. 😊
how long is the walk from fansipan peak to the cable car station?
I can’t quite remember, I believe we spent about two hours exploring the whole area, but we were also capturing video. You can take the funicular up and down if you’d prefer not to walk. 😊
Chào hai bạn nha du lịch vui vẻ nha việt nam của chúng tôi đẹp lấm phải không bạn
Thank you! We loved our time in Sapa. And yes, Vietnam is incredibly beautiful. 🤗
How can I also hire Ha, the tioru guide for Fansipan!?
We're unsure if Ha gives public tours, but you can contact Sun World Fansipan Legend to ask. 😊
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching! 🥰
Which month did you visit Sapa?
This was in December. 😊
@@mikeandashley thank you

🥰🥰🥰
How to get a guide in fansipan?
We’re not sure! 😅 Our hotel set up our experience, so perhaps we were just lucky! 😊🙏
Did you fly your drone without any problems? We asked the security at the very top if we could fly ours and he said no lol
We did. We requested permission from the Fansipan Authority ahead of us going to Sapa, and secured a permit to fly it. Vietnam is tricky about drones! 😅
