Standard Akkug gegen die etwas dickere und 0,8kg schwerere 360Wh-Version getauscht, dabei werden die originalen Schrauben gegen Senkopf-Schrauben getauscht, damit man ca. 1mm Abstand vom Gehäuse zum Rad gewinnt.
Preis für den Akku lag bei ungefähr 250 Euro
use counter sink screws to get about 1mm more distance!!! and of course counter sink the holes in the cover plate.

My chinese replica is supposed to have a 132 wh battery but looks like it might go only 8 k in really good conditions. A backpack with an aux battery will be the next evolution of this technology.

Hello,
The "old" battery was good but had an average of range of 10km, not enough for me. So I bought a bigger battery pack (weight +800g) and now the range should be about 30km or more. I had no time until now to test ist to the end. A friend from UK told me, he got 22-25km now, but he is about 95kg and Iam only 60kg.

sehr gut !
I am slightly heavier than you and using a X5 (130wh) have been able to ride for 18km. I suspect your 10km range with the 'old' battery is due to the aging of the battery. Have you used for many years? Your X3 seems quite new.
2ndly, by shaving off small bits in the battery compartment, would that weaken the X3 case?

Richard Tan Tan hello, battery was new but I think in the X3 is only a 90 Wh pack and in yours is a 130 Wh.
I couldn't notice a lower stability after milling the shelf...it's only removing some edges, not reducing the thickness.

Richard Tan Tan...... HI I'm the friend from the UK who upgraded his battery :)
I got 25km/15.6miles from the new 360wh battery, and I was 110kg/17.3 stone when I did the test, I wish I was 95kg lol.
Average of 7.9 mph /12.7kph, max of 8.9mph/14.32kph so took 2 hours to kill battery.
So great850 @ 60kg will easy get 30km, maybe more like 40km being almost 1/2 my weight when I tested mine.
I'm still trying to get him to do a range test for his Airwheel......
The standard 132wh battery only gave me 5.6miles/9km with a 110kg payload, so couldn't make it to work. Now I can get there and back with charge left.

I'm interested in changing the battery in my X3 too. But lithium batteries can be dangerous. Does the new battery pack come with its own charging and protection circuit? Can it be used with the original X3 charger?

Yes it has a loadbalancer. It's handmade in China and works very well. You can use the standard charger but I always have to charge it twice. I think there is some timer in the charger

I was wondering is it a good Idea to buy a cheaper model and then buy a bigger battery to get more distance out of it..??
I'm on the verge of buying and airwheel/ maybe chinese knock off.
but I wanna save some money to while getting a longer distance.. I'm 78KG and I wanna be able to get 35-40 km out of one charge.. what do you guys suggest..?

Airwheel is for small to medium commutes , 5 to 10 miles. 20 miles i would class as a long commute but the Q3 model is rated at 24 to 28 miles and at £799 .. a worth while spend !

What kind of battery to replace? Size 26650?

That doesn't look very watertight... I managed to get my TG T3 (look-a-like guess it's 100% identical) completely watertight from water comming from inside. Was actually a very easy job closing som unused holes with silicone and making a heat shrink sleeve to go around the connection from battery to electronics so the two halves meet inside the heat shrink sleeve to water doesn't splash directly at the joint. Also improving the with a very thin layer of silicone (let harden before assembly) to make a silicone gasket. No more water in the electronics or battery.
I washed the inside in the bath tub - no more water than would otherwise come from ridding in shallow puddles. Suddenly is started behave abnormally so I hurried to take it appart. Luckily no permanent damage and no future water problems (at least from inside wheel case).

Open your battery pack and look for low voltar cell with multimeter, most time is only one or two fault cells, can be repaired cheap and easy
