Great job Josh with breaking this all down without spending too much time on any one piece of gear. Although as you mentioned a few of them deserve a solo review. I definitely need to get that tiny pad inflator for sure when I’m blessed to actually get to go out west on adventure. Hopefully 🙏 next fall or spring.
@@DialedinHunter you are welcome and yes I definitely agree. That is why I enjoyed working at Cabela's for 10 years even though the pay was not great (the discount was thankfully).
Good stuff, interested to see the tent review. I saw one but it was a real quick and didn’t have the floor. I almost went with the previous Argali but held off because i just don’t know about the pole set up and heavy wind plus, the amount of real estate it needed.
I run the Rincon. There are optional tie out points around the tent. If I'm going to a tops trip (exposed hunting) I'll take extra guy lines and pegs. I bring Hilleberg Y stakes, hold much better than the supplied v stakes from Argali (Y stakes always perform better). The tent tensions really well (seem to get better with practice and use). I'd be confident with it in moderate conditions, but then, choose your site, or drop down to tree line if it's gonna get nasty. I worked out I wasn't hunting nasty conditions as a rule, so went to this from a Hilleberg Soulo which was overkill and much heavier. Loving the Rincon. I put my Exo pack, dog back pack and dog on his own thermrest mat, and there is still equivalent room to put another full pack inside. I use my walking pole to prop up the front door and cook so gas goes outside. Also suggest pitch it elevated mode. I did this right by a river with the side vent open and no condensation issues.
Nice review man. Like the look of the new Argali single man tent, but like the Rincon for room! You could probably dial back the weight by removing all the stuff sacks etc, makes a difference. Agree around the Revelation Quilt, really functional and great if you are a side sleeper. The Exo Pack looks mint and functional. You can also get the full rincon into the inner stuff suck. Find this useful when it is wet, as you can stuff it in, then stuff the bag in the stretchy side pocket on the Exo and just get moving.
What are your thoughts on 15x56 vs the spotting scope hunting in AZ. Obviously you prefer the scope, but wondered if you have used the 15’s. I’ve been debating on buying a scope and selling my 15’s
I have used 15's in the past and have watched friends use them as well. They're no doubt nice. I still feel like I need a scope though to see what I need to see, especially with something like a coues deer. Black bears, I think 15's are fine for everything. Unless you're a real long ways out trying to size up or sex a bear, the 15's will do the trick. The more versatile combo though if you ask me is the slightly smaller bino magnification paired with the scope.
Don't sell your 15s if that's what you use primarily for glassing. Spotting scopes are for looking at the details of an animal you've already spotted. Extended glassing sessions with spotting scopes are way more straining

Thanks! The Rincon does have more of a footprint. I will say though in heavy winds, that tent holds up wonderfully.

I had to come back and search this vid for the little pump. Ordered one, thanks for info on that.
Awesome!
Great review and fellow Az hunter here. Nice to see Az knowledge and actual gear info!
Thanks Josh! 👊🏼

Thanks! Yeah, I probably could slice those stuff sacks to clear some weight. The new Exo is great! Thanks for chiming in. 👊🏼
Awesome reviews thanks for posting
Heck yeah! Thanks!

@@xxxsnowleoparxxx I have 10x42 also
Which model of My Medic was that, Josh?
I believe it's their Sidekick. I added in the tourniquet though.
